Chapter 2 - ➫ 2

Ben's eyes darted around the blood-soaked ground where lots of bodies lay. He was confused as to what to do. The last message he got was that he would figure things out.

"Like what does that even mean?" he frowned. The system threw those words at him to make sense of it like things were ever that simple.

Sigh.

"Okay," He forced the word out. "Think Ben. Pull yourself together and think."

Ben had to find something or someway to protect himself first before anything else. As he moved, two creatures ran past him, locked in combat. Their weapons clashed so close to his face. He flinched and stumbled back, falling on his bum.

"phew! That was close."

He scanned around where he sat for something. Anything at all, that he could use as a weapon to fight if he needed to. Well of course he needed to, what was he thinking.

Lucky for him, there was a Club with blood stains all around it close to where he stood. He immediately reached and grabbed it.

The club felt heavier than it should. Or maybe his arms were just weak. It was probably both.

He barely had time to grip it tight before something 'growled' very close to him.

The sound was deep and chilling. Immediately he heard it, every hair on his body stood up. Slowly, he turned around to see where the sound came from and gasped.

Behind him was a six-foot Werewolf. Its black fur was matted with blood and it had bright yellow eyes. Its mouth was as wide open and dripping with saliva. It was looking directly at Ben.

"Oh shit." Before he could move or run, It ran towards him. Ben swung the club as hard as he could. He put everything into it, all his might, fear, panic and desperation. But sadly, he missed.

The werewolf was incredibly fast. Within seconds, It knocked the weapon out of Ben's hands easily and slammed into him, claws digging slowly into his shoulders tearing through his skin and muscled as he lifted him up.

"Ahhh!"

Ben screamed as pain tore through him. The Werewolf's jaws snapped inches from his face. It was going for his gut.

Ben kicked as hard as he could but it was all hopeless. The claws of the werewolf dug deeper into his flesh. He could see his own blood gushing out.

"Please don't kill me." He begged. But it was as if his plea only made the Werewolf want to kill him even more.

It slammed its second hands on Ben's other shoulder causing him even greater pain as It pierced it's claws deeper into his shoulder. Ben was screaming and begging for his life to be spared but the Werewolf was just having fun toying with him.

He had just got here minutes ago and he was already on the verge of dieing. It was like he jumped from a frying pan into fire.

The werewolf snarled and pulled back its arm, ready to rip him open. But suddenly, Ben heard a loud sound,

Boom!

A burst of light exploded between them, shooting the Werewolf a few meters away just before its ordeal to rip Ben apart. The werewolf yelped and stumbled back, smoking, while Ben fell to the ground.

Ben gasped, clutching his wounded shoulders as blood leaked between his fingers. The wound right now were least of his worries. That burst of light,

"What...what was that?" he turned to see where the light came from. A figure stepped forward. It was tall and lanky with pointed ears and blue eyes. And it was smiling warmly.

"An elf?" Ben was suprised.

The Elf creature turned to face Ben and gently bowed in greetings. Ben was dumfounded and just nodded his head.

'He's greeting me?' he thought as he watched it's every move. Thankfully, the Elf didn't seem as threatening or ferocious as the Werewolf. It was likely not an enemy.

The Elf creature turned to the Werewolf, raised his hand and pointed to it. Another bolt of energy shot out, slamming into the Werewolf's chest.

It howled and collapsed onto its side, twitching and smoking even more. Then the Elf turned to Ben and extended a hand, smiling warmly.

"I'm Dathan," he said. "Are you alright?"

Ben stared at the hand. Then at the Elf. Then at the werewolf still twitching on the ground.

"I...I," he gasped before he could finish his sentence. His eyes widened.

"Watch out!" he screamed.

The Werewolf had healed almost immediately and moved faster than before, getting up and charging towards where they were.

Before the Elf could even turn his head in accordance to Ben's warnings, the Werewolf drove its clawed hand right through Dathan's chest.

Tears gathered in Ben's eyes.

"No!"
