Morning light crept slowly across the dormitory floor.
Ren sat quietly at the small desk in his room, staring at a blank notebook that he hadn't written anything in.
He wasn't trying to study.
He wasn't even thinking particularly hard.
He was simply letting his thoughts settle.
Last night he had gone over the situation again and again until the conclusion became obvious.
He knew pieces of the future.
Not everything.
Just fragments.
Moments.
Events that would eventually connect.
Stain.
The forest camp.
The Shie Hassaikai.
Overhaul.
A girl named Eri.
For a long time Ren had believed that knowing these things meant he had to control them.
Guide every step.
Adjust every event.
But the more he thought about it, the more pointless that idea became.
Plans were fragile.
Reality always introduced new variables.
People made unexpected decisions.
Small accidents created massive consequences.
Even something as simple as someone slipping during a race could change an outcome.
Trying to perfectly control the future was impossible.
Ren leaned back in his chair and exhaled slowly.
"So I know a little of the future," he muttered quietly.
"Doesn't mean I control it."
In fact, the more he tried to control things, the more unpredictable the situation might become.
Instead, it was better to treat the future like a river.
You couldn't stop the current.
But you could sometimes guide where it flowed.
That was enough.
He stood and stretched his arms slightly.
His thoughts shifted back toward the main issue.
Overhaul.
He knew something terrible would happen eventually.
But charging in blindly wasn't the answer.
The smarter approach was still the one he had decided on the previous night.
Observation.
Osaka.
Specifically the area near Sir Nighteye's agency.
But not yet.
Timing mattered.
The forest training camp test would happen soon.
After that there would be a short gap before the planned school trip.
That gap was the best opportunity.
Ren grabbed his bag.
Even if the trip ended up being cancelled because of future events, the timing still worked.
He didn't need to control everything.
Just move when the opportunity appeared.
With that thought, he left the dorm.
Class 1-A
The classroom was already lively.
Internships had ended only recently, and everyone was still excited to talk about their experiences.
Kaminari was halfway standing on his chair.
"I'm serious! That villain actually tried to throw a vending machine at me!"
Jiro looked unimpressed.
"You probably shocked it first."
Several students laughed.
Kirishima leaned forward enthusiastically.
"My agency had me helping patrol the streets! Real hero stuff!"
Sero nodded.
"Yeah, same! It was awesome!"
The discussion slowly shifted toward the biggest incident of the week.
Stain.
The Hero Killer's name still carried weight.
Midoriya spoke carefully.
"Stain targeted specific heroes… people he thought were fake."
Tsuyu tilted her head.
"But some people online support him."
Uraraka looked uncomfortable.
"That's kind of scary…"
Ren listened quietly for a moment.
Then he spoke casually.
"I might go observe vigilante activity myself."
Several students looked at him.
Midoriya blinked.
"Observe?"
Ren nodded slightly.
"After the Stain incident, emotions in cities are unstable. I want to see it firsthand."
Kaminari frowned.
"That sounds dangerous."
"Maybe."
Ren didn't elaborate further.
At that moment the classroom door opened.
All Might's Hero Class
"I AM HERE!"
All Might entered in his heroic form, smiling proudly.
The class immediately straightened.
All Might placed his hands on his hips.
"You've all returned from your internships stronger than before! Today we will test how well you can apply what you learned!"
He pointed toward the door dramatically.
"Head to Ground Beta!"
The class quickly gathered their things and headed outside.
Ground Beta
The training field looked like a disaster zone.
Broken concrete slabs.
Collapsed structures.
Metal beams scattered everywhere.
Perfect terrain for movement training.
All Might stood near the starting area with a confident smile.
"Today's objective is simple!"
He pointed toward a distant platform.
"The first person to reach the goal zone wins!"
No fighting.
No rescuing.
Just mobility.
Students gathered around excitedly.
First Race
The first group stepped forward.
Midoriya.
Sero.
Shoji.
Ojiro.
All Might raised his hand.
"Ready… GO!"
Midoriya moved instantly.
Green energy flickered across his body.
Full Cowling.
Instead of explosive bursts of power, the energy flowed evenly through his muscles.
His speed increased dramatically.
He dashed forward across the broken ground, leaping over obstacles with smooth movements.
Sero fired tape and swung forward.
Shoji pushed debris aside with powerful arms.
Ojiro balanced across narrow structures.
But Midoriya was clearly in the lead.
He reached the final stretch.
Just a few more steps.
Then—
His foot hit loose rubble.
He slipped.
The stumble was small, but it destroyed his momentum.
Sero reacted instantly.
Tape shot forward.
He swung past Midoriya and landed ahead.
A moment later he crossed the goal zone.
All Might raised his arm.
"First place — Sero!"
Sero blinked in shock.
"I actually won?!"
Midoriya slowed down, scratching his head awkwardly.
"I almost had it…"
All Might laughed kindly.
"You showed great improvement, young Midoriya!"
Ren's Race
The next group stepped forward.
Ren.
Uraraka.
Tsuyu.
Kirishima.
Kaminari.
All Might raised his hand again.
"Ready… GO!"
Everyone moved at once.
Kirishima ran straight through debris.
Tsuyu leapt forward in long frog-like jumps.
Uraraka floated obstacles out of the way.
Kaminari followed behind them.
Ren paused for half a second.
Not hesitation.
Observation.
Then he moved.
Three steps.
Wall.
Vault.
He ran along the side of a tilted vehicle rather than going around it.
His movements were fluid and efficient.
Parkour training wasn't about brute speed.
It was about maintaining momentum.
Slide under a fallen beam.
Jump off a wall.
Land lightly.
Continue forward.
Tsuyu briefly took the lead with a long leap.
Uraraka floated herself across a gap.
Ren adjusted his route.
A narrow opening appeared between two collapsed pillars.
Kirishima tried to push through the debris.
Ren chose a different approach.
He planted one foot against the wall.
Shifted his body sideways.
Slipped through the gap without slowing down.
Final stretch.
Short sprint.
He crossed the goal zone first.
All Might smiled broadly.
"Excellent work, Ren!"
Uraraka arrived a moment later.
"That was really smooth!"
Ren shrugged slightly.
"Just momentum."
The class gathered again after the races, talking excitedly about their performances.
But Ren's mind had already moved on.
He knew a little of the future.
But not enough to control it.
And maybe that was fine.
Plans were useful.
But the world would always introduce variables.
For now, he would simply move when the moment arrived.
And the moment he was waiting for—
Would come soon.
