Chapter 6 - Day Seven: War (Final Part)

Your heavy breathing was the only noise in the yard, that and the faint clashes from the two swords, the two had rotated towards your front door after having exchanged at least forty or so clashes. One of the only reason why you have kept up is due to the Ant-drew's mistakes caused by his anger and his health bar showing you his location.

After deflecting the next attack you kicked the door open and fell backwards onto your ass and because of that Ant-drew flew over your head, you rolled over so you could see him on the tile floor, he also wasn't wearing any armor.

No that was wrong, he is wearing armor but you could now tell it is light armor.

Swinging the blade down towards the ant he parried your swing, disarming you. "Shit." You glanced over as your blade embedded itself into the wall. At the same time Ant-drew pressed the advantage.

"Die!"

The ant was aiming for your heart, throwing himself through the air towards you.

"Not exactly how I planned but it'll do." Your cloak that you've had on since the beginning was now torn and burned to a shorter length. You ripped it off and jumped above him, tossing the cloak down onto him. Ant-drew saw this but couldn't immediately do anything about it and once he was caught in the fabric he tangled himself in it due to his momentum.

Meanwhile, you had pushed off the frame of the door, it bent and almost broke under the pressure but surprisingly it held firm. You glanced over at your sword and grabbed the handle before you jumped away from the door, pulling it free along with a section of the wall it was stuck in. You then rolled, losing your sword again as it slid across the floor. You saw Ant-drew cut through the cloak and cursed. Grabbing the sword from your left side you lunged towards him once again.

At the same time Ant-drew had freed himself from your cloak and looked behind him, his eyes widened at the realization of his impending demise.

You on the other hand was ecstatic at the difficult but quick battle, finally, this was it. "Good riddance." You tell him, the amusement at his defeat was all the fuel he needed and your entire being was the spark that started the fire.

[Ant-drew, fueled by rage and the thought of defeat by you again, has awakened.]

In slow motion you watched him, as this Ant, this fucking Ant, grab your sword and throw it and by extension, you, backwards into the kitchen. You hit the table again before continuing on to the cabinets where you hit your head once you stopped. You body was stuck at an awkward angle, you were momentarily dazed.

Another notification greeted you.

[Sir Ant-drew has forced an evolution. From Knight -> Royal Guard. Additionally his title has changed from Sir to Lord.]

[Level cap removed. Previously capped at 70. New Level cap: 200. Current level: 5]

[The Ant named 'Ant-drew' has surpassed his set evolutionary path, his potential is currently unknown. Threat level: Unknown. Recommended Choice advised by the system: Surrender.]

You read the notifications with an exhausted gaze. This was un-fucking-believable. Your health was low, you were tired, your sword was somewhere and with a quick glance around made it obvious that it wasn't anywhere close. Not only were you about to win but this son of a bitch was promoted mid fight? What the fuck!

"By the order of the Queen, you are to be taken back to the colony to stand trial for your crimes. Refusal to surrender will result in your immediate execution."

You look towards the Ant, who just now stepped through the new hole in your wall, Ant-drew was larger now that he has evolved. He was almost as tall as Leo. His light armor had changed alongside him.

It was a glowing set that put his previous one to shame, the red cape was replaced with a white one, his helmet was reminiscent of the spartan helmets and the color of the new armor was metallic black. The sight would be impressive if it was anyone else.

"Surrender?" You asked defiantly, your pride was apparently still intact. "I'd sooner die than surrender to you, much less your Queen." You spit some blood out, you had bit your lip when you were thrown through the wall.

Ant-drew was silent for a moment, his anger had subsided once he evolved, albeit briefly. He was given the authority to do with the human as he saw fit and if he refused to come willingly..

"So be it."

From his scabbard he pulled out his sword again, even it was newer, it shined with an unnatural light as Ant-drew held it under your chin, forcing you to look into his eyes.

"Goodbye, human."

Hmm, you suppose that going out like this wasn't the worst way imaginable. You watched him pull the sword away and swung it towards your neck.

This was a mighty fine way to go out, and of course the system gave you one more notification as the blade cut into your neck..

[You have died..]
