Jian Quan Hou observed his surroundings, his aura was subdued to the limit.
In front of him there was a massive Village, where countless of Burning Hairymen lived.
Of course, they were not actually Hairy man, rather they were a bunch of monkeys, whose bodies were perpetually covered in intense flames.
However due to their similarity to the legends of Ren Zu, many Immortals had given them this name.
Those monkeys were unlike most Desolate Beasts in the sense that they did not pursue loneliness, at the contrary they lived in groups and tribes which they managed.
More than that, those monkey grew by devouring powerful wine, which made their flames stronger.
If they drank a lot of wine their strength could hit the upper limit of the Desolated Beast, even becoming as strong as some Ancient Desolated Beasts.
However, similarly if they did not drink wine their strength would be much lower, barely reaching the level of a Mutated Beast King.
Due to their characteristics, those monkey lived together like human tribes, and most of the population worked for those on the top to brew wine for them, so the ones on top could protect them.
Those monkeys were very smart, and likeable, but still remained somewhat simple-minded.
Those characteristics as well as their dependence in Fire Path Materials to produce wine made them quite popular among Fire Path Immortals.
As one could easily order them around, if they gained their recognition.
And how could one gain their recognition?
There were several ways, but the simplest was to contest against the leader of the tribe in a duel.
There were two kinds of duels, one was arm wrestling, and the second was in a drinking competition, whoever passed out first would be the loser.
Jian Quan Hou touched his chin.
"Hahaha…While I'd love to take some free wine, it's simply too strong, I've heard that the kind of wine they produce is similar to Divine Travel Gu in the sense that if one gets too drunk, they get teleported randomly.
It would be a shame if because of this, I were to get teleported outside the aperture."
Then, he chuckled.
"Besides…Even though I am no Strength Path Cultivator and my strength is not too high, anybody who dares to touch my bare body, will pay the price, Heheheh. Those stupid monkeys won't even know what they are facing."
With those thoughts, he confidently stood and began to walk towards the group of monkeys.
The group of monkeys turning their heads startled, watching at the immortal in a mix of emotions, however, the man merely raised his right fist and clenched it.
The group of monkeys made several sounds of surprise.
"Wah! Uhuhuhuh!"
"Huhuhu AhahaHuhu!" The monkeys turned to see each other, seemingly talking to each other in their strange language.
In the end, the largest amount of them who was about 5 meters tall stood in front of him.
It stared at him mockingly.
It raised its fist and extended it towards the man, who in the same way chuckled.
"Hah…Let us compete in strength." But before reaching the monkey, he pressed his feet in the ground.
A massive wolframium block was carved from the ground.
"Naturally an ordinary table will not suffice for our duel, so I hope you don't mind this."
The monkey smirked, understanding his intent.
He walked towards his side of the cube, and he towards his own.
Once there, the two gripped each other's hand.
And the competition begun.
Immediately, the monkey took the lead pressing his arm at full strength and almost instantaneously the arm of Jian Quan Hou reached the other side, he was about to lose.
The monkey grinned widely, like a chimpanzee.
It was not even using half its strength, and yet that pitiful human had already reached its limits, with such strength, why did they dare to compete with it?
But Jian Quan Hou smiled in response.
"Oh you stupid monkey, do you know why I am making this competition?
Is because of this!"
[Golden Experience]
Immediately his whole body begun to shine in golden colors, the pupils of the monkey expanded.
It felt as if its vitality had surged a tenfold.
Its expression became one of bewilderment, why was his opponent making him stronger?
But when he tried to move, its body did not reply.
No.
It did, just half a second later.
The delay messed with his senses, just an instant before, he unleashed its full strength before stopping, realizing nothing had happened.
But now that the 'time' of his action had come, there was no strength, for the movement of his arm lasted for less than a breath.
Jian Qian Hou smiled in response.
"My Golden Experience Killer Move, is not so easy to adapt. Heheh. It enhances the vitality of the body and mind in every sense of the word, making one smarter, faster and stronger.
And yet, is precisely because the vitality is heightened so greatly, that is hard for the body to react.
The usual little delays between thought and action that last 90 milliseconds, seem like an eternity when your reflexes are amped by a tenfold.
Heh. If you were a Gu Master your condition would be even more pitiful, with your altered perception, trying to synchronize your Gu's to perform a Killer Move would simply be impossible.
Such a shame you are just a beast.
Heh Heh. Of course, I am experiencing the same effect too, but unlike you, I am used to it.
Given enough time you too will be used to this state, but I will not give you the chance to do it…" With this thought, he immediately pressed his and the monkey's hand towards the other side of the table.
With a huge grin in his face.
The monkey was defeated, and stared at the human in disbelief.
Its voice was ragged.
But still he spoke in a human language.
"Human what…Kind of trick did you use?"
Jian Quan Hou stared at the monkey surprised, however his expression soon relaxed.
"Ah yes, I almost forgot another reason why they are called Hairy-man is that they are shockingly smart, not as much as humans but I heard the smartest among them can learn to talk and communicate.
Of course, such cases are rare, and are often the 'chiefs' of the Village, as drinking plentiful wine can awaken their spirituality." He thought internally.
Once he calmed down, he replied.
"What I did was not a trick, I won fairly by using the power of my Golden Experience Killer Move."
"Golden Experience? I remember…Before her death…Master…She spoke to me when I was a cub…
Legends of Ren Zu, there was such a Gu…."
<<<<< Legends of Ren Zu >>>>>
"Self Gu is actually so small." Ren Zu was internally shaken.
Cognition Gu sighed: "In the eyes of heaven and earth, in the eyes of mankind, a single self Gu is very small and insignificant."
Ren Zu sighed to himself.
"But what is the point? Before I thought that if I found my Self Gu, I would be able to overcome Fate, but now I see how insignificant it is…"
"Oh human, human even now you still do not understand.
Self Gu may be fragile and weak.
But once you find it, Effort and Talent Gu can show their true potential."
"Their true potential?" Ren Zu asked curious.
"When you know yourself, and develop your talent and put your effort into something, you can uncover and do things you never thought possible." Cognition Gu explained.
Ren Zu looked at the Gu skeptical.
"Is that so? But why didn't I notice this before? My daughter and son already found Talent and Effort Gu before, whilst I had my Self Gu.
Yet I never discovered such a thing?" He looked at Cognition Gu fearful that it was Lie Gu.
Cognition Gu shook its body.
"You never learnt this, because you were so busy chasing after other things that you forgot about your own Self Gu."
Across a person's life, just how many times a person lost sight of themselves in pursuit of their own goals, without even considering if that is what they truly even wanted to.
Ren Zu stared at his son and daughter.
"Could you let me borrow your Gu?"
The son and daughter shook their heads.
"We cannot, father."
"Why?" Ren Zu asked.
"Because the efforts I made, are not yours."
"Because the talent I have is not yours."
Ren Zu scratched his head.
"I forgot about that."
"Then what do we do?"
"My talents are not yours, but I can still help you." Carefree Wisdom Heart replied.
"My efforts are not yours, but I can still help you." True Martial replied.
Ren Zu's eyelids trembled, tears appeared in his face as he said.
"That's right, Familial Emotion, through it, even if your efforts and talent cannot be shared, we can advance together."
The son and daughter moved towards Ren Zu.
They put their hands behind Ren Zu's back, and injected their Gu's onto his Self Gu.
However.
No matter how much time it passed, nothing happened.
"Oh Ren Zu, Ren Zu. Before putting your talent and effort into something you first need to find a path, without it, no matter how great your talent and effort you will never do anything." A Gu suddenly spoke.
"Who are you?" Ren Zu asked.
"I am Self Critique Gu, and I can tell you when you are following the wrong Path." The Gu explained.
Ren Zu's eyes shone brightly.
"I see! So, you can tell us the Path to escape?"
"I am afraid I cannot." The Gu shook its head.
"I can only tell you when you went the wrong way, but I cannot tell you where the Path is." Self-Critique Gu explained.
Ren Zu grew anxious.
"Then what do I do?"
"Just ask Self Gu, he will tell you the way."
"But what if it tells me the wrong way?"
"Once it does, you will have to listen to me and retrace your steps. Then once I stop talking.
Ask to Self Gu where should you move next."
Ren Zu frowned deeply.
That did not sound very reassuring, but he sighed deeply.
He had already gotten used to this by this point.
He nodded weakly.
"Where should we move?" He muttered to Self Gu.
"To the right!" Self Gu said.
Ren Zu and the others listened, and they followed its steps.
They jumped through several rocks, trying to not fall into the deadly waters of the River of Time whilst walking together.
And as they moved.
They found several glowing orbs.
Some of those orbs were white, others were black, others were red, others were blue.
"What are those things?" Ren Zu asked.
"Experiences. All the experiences in the world, the bitter, the joyful, the sweet and painful.
Anything anybody has ever experienced can be traced in the River of Time." Cognition Gu explained.
Ren Zu frowned.
"You say so, but doesn't that sound identical to the Truthful Ice?"
"While they may sound similar, they are entirely different.
Truthful Ice stores all the cold truths in this world.
However, experience.
Experience is subjective.
While there are no right or wrong facts.
There are things you feel right or wrong, bad or good experiences.
Thus, what do you see here is but the subjective side of reality."
Ren Zu frowned.
He was about to speak.
However.
Suddenly all out of nowhere True Martial laughed heartily.
As he ran at full speed towards a golden orb.
"Hey what are you doing!" Ren Zu shouted anxious.
"To become a true expert I need to gain some experience." True Martial replied.
<<
"Experience Gu is a very odd Immortal Gu, unlike most its appearance and abilities are in a continuous flux.
At every instant, its color and size change, and depending of its unique color.
The effect of the Gu will change.
Sometimes it will heal you, sometimes it will hurt you, sometimes it will make you learn things, sometimes it will make you forget things.
The Gu alone is basically useless.
However, there are no truly useless Gu in this world.
Through my Golden Road Gu, I discovered that I could limit the spectrum of possibilities of Experience Gu.
Of course, it took me a while, and plenty of supplementary Gu's to achieve this, such as…"
Jian Quan Hou explained proudly, about how he developed step-by-step his Killer Move.
However.
Suddenly his pupils trembled, he gritted his teeth in rage as he shouted.
"You fucking monkey! I was talking, not giving you a bed-time story." He said staring at the monkey who had fallen completely asleep.
