Han Joon stood at the dungeon entrance, watching as everyone received their access cards.
When it was his turn, he took his—a sleek metal card with his rank, skill, and photo. His mind wandered to his family. I have to do this… I have to earn enough to save them.
He swiped the card and stepped into the dungeon.
The underground space was massive. Jagged stone walls stretched endlessly, veins of glowing gems lighting the dark paths like scattered stars.
"This is your first dungeon," one of the teachers called out. "The more monsters you kill, the more you'll be paid. High-tier items could retire you and your whole family twice over. Have fun."
A timer appeared on his card. A-Rank Hunters were stationed nearby in the zones they were exploring.
Almost instantly, students grouped together, leaving Han Joon—alone. He gripped the sword they had given him. Its weight was unfamiliar, but it was all he had.
Cautiously, he began walking through the dungeon, eyes scanning for monsters. Every step echoed through the cavern. I need to survive… I need to get stronger… for my family.
Then, out of nowhere, three giant rabbits with glowing red eyes hopped into view, surrounding him.
Han Joon froze.
BOOM!
One slammed into him, crushing him under its massive foot. Pain shot through his chest. The rabbit tilted its head, staring at him with those blazing red eyes.
This is it…
Instinct took over. He drove his sword upward into the rabbit's eye.
SHK!
The rabbit screeched, hopping back, blood dripping down its fur. The other two lunged at him.
Before they could strike, Han Joon charged the wounded rabbit, stabbing its foot.
CRACK!
It fell screaming, but the other two slammed him to the ground, pinning him. Their paws pressed down with terrifying weight.
I'm done for…
Suddenly—
ERROR. ERROR.
Time stretched. Sound vanished. Everything slowed. A translucent window appeared in his vision, filled with scrolling text, stats, gauges, and skill icons.
[SYSTEM DETECTED]
Would you like to gain: Absorption System?
Han Joon froze. Yes… what is happening?
"Permission granted. Would you like to absorb the Leap Skill from the Red-Eyed Rabbit?"
Maybe… this is my chance to become stronger, he thought.
"Yes."
Leap Skill ActivatedMana Cost: -15Warning: Mana Low
In an instant, the world snapped back. Han Joon was across from the rabbits. A holographic stat screen blinked open in front of him:
HP: 75 / 100
Mana: 30 / 30
Skills: Leap (1/2 uses left)
Status: Critical
Two rabbits remained. The third lay dead and bleeding—the source of the skill absorption.
Both remaining rabbits charged. Han Joon sprinted, stabbing the first rabbit in the foot.
SWISH!
He vaulted over a swinging paw, rolling forward, sword flashing. Sparks of residual mana scattered as his stat overlay flickered with each hit.
The first rabbit stumbled, limping badly. The second tried to regain footing but fell over.
Han Joon didn't hesitate. He leapt onto the fallen rabbit, driving his sword down as it slowly rose.
The limping rabbit roared.
SYSTEM ALERT:Red-Eyed Rabbits are enraged. Stats increased x2.
Shit… if they keep this up, I'll die, he thought.
The limping rabbit charged. Han Joon hurled his sword. It buried itself perfectly in the rabbit's eye—the weak spot.
The fallen rabbit staggered, then got up.
SYSTEM UPDATE:2/3 Red-Eyed Rabbits defeated. Red-Eyed Rabbits are easy to kill when alone.
Han Joon activated Leap again, using the last of his mana. He vaulted toward the dead rabbit, yanking his sword free and landing on one knee.
Weak… but not dead. I can still fight.
The limping rabbit lunged desperately, paw slamming down. Han Joon twisted midair, sword flashing, stabbing again and again.
Then—the rabbit used its last resort: a brutal, full-force kick.
He flew backward, slamming into the wall. Pain ripped through his ribs. He coughed up blood as the rabbit collapsed, finally dead.

Han Joon breathed heavily, staring at the system screen before passing out.
Maybe… maybe I really can become stronger, he thought.
