Chapter 28 - Chapter 29. Interstellar Flight!

"Ember Insects!"

Jogo formed a hand seal, and purple insects suddenly flew out from his volcano-like head.

These purple insects carried astonishing Cursed Energy as they circled above Jogo's head before charging forward all at once.

The air in the corridor distorted due to the high heat, and the purple insects left clear thermal ripples as they flew, resembling miniature missiles.

Heat waves and killing intent pierced toward Hoshikira Roro's eyes simultaneously.

"Useless!" Hoshikira Roro shouted.

He remained standing still, but he was already prepared for battle.

Even before the Ember Insects reached him, he felt a fatal threat, yet he remained unmoved, rooted to the spot like an ancient pine.

As expected, the Ember Insects did not reach him.

These purple insects, commanded by Jogo, suddenly turned around and charged back at the Cursed Spirit.

Jogo's pupils dilated, and his next prepared move was already released.

"Ember Insects!"

A second wave of Ember Insects flew from his volcano head to intercept the returning ones.

The two sides collided in mid-air and exploded instantly!

Hoshikira Roro and Jogo both raised their hands to shield their eyes.

A massive heat wave surged violently in all directions.

In the roar, the corridor walls finally succumbed to the pressure and burst outward.

Fire and lava spurted from the rubble, which then began to melt.

Anyone watching from outside would see tiny fire meteors shooting out from the multi-story parking garage—the aftereffects of the Ember Insects.

The next second, there was fire!

Jogo released flames with a roar; this was his most proficient technique.

The high temperature of the heat waves churned the surrounding air into a storm, and the flames advanced with it.

At the same time, Jogo took a step forward.

The flames and the Cursed Spirit advanced simultaneously—a dual assault!

Jogo's body moved forward.

His right foot was already raised, stepping ahead.

He was certain he was advancing.

His right foot touched the ground, and his body maintained its balance as it glided forward.

His left foot rose, following the body's momentum, his ankle moved, and finally, it too landed on the ground.

Whether in terms of physical sensation or physical space, Jogo had indeed taken a step forward.

His flames followed him like an infinite wall, pushing forward.

The outer edges of the flames touched the floor and walls of the corridor, and the concrete gradually melted.

The heat, exceeding the melting point, destroyed their solid state, turning them into golden-red lava, as if a volcano were flowing, bringing destruction to the world!

Jogo carried a massive majesty, stepping forward like a monarch, but suddenly he came to a standstill.

Because both he and his Fire Technique remained motionless on the spot.

The raging flames almost entirely consumed the air in the corridor.

A whistling wind came from the gap blown into the corridor—a backdraft phenomenon.

The wind, following the heat flow, whipped up the Cursed Energy flames.

These Cursed Energy flames burned quietly, illuminating Jogo's contorted face.

"Didn't I say it?" Hoshikira Roro said calmly.

"It's useless."

"It's not over yet!" Jogo roared.

He slammed violently toward the left wall of the corridor.

Before his fist could even hit the wall, the thermal energy of the flames melted a large hole in the concrete.

Jogo unleashed his technique in a roar, and massive flames erupted from outside the wall like a volcano spewing lava.

Hoshikira Roro mocked loudly: "Where are you aiming?"

Suddenly, an incredible heat surged from his side.

He immediately looked back to see a dragon-like flame appearing outside the corridor window.

Due to the massive heat transfer, the corridor glass had already begun to melt.

The dragon formed of intense flames opened its mouth, which contained thermal energy sufficient to melt steel, capable of incinerating everything with just a slight touch.

It turned out the flames weren't misaimed; they were performing a flanking attack from outside the corridor!

If a frontal assault didn't work, then attack from the side!

Even a rare space-control technique couldn't be omnipotent; there had to be a loophole.

Jogo judged that since he couldn't break through from the front no matter what, he would attack from the side, tear through the defense, bite the Sorcerer, and deliver a killing blow.

The attack speed of this Fire Technique even exceeded Hoshikira Roro's reflexes.

It was close before he even noticed.

In the next instant, he would be swallowed and burned to—

—That's how it should have been.

The flaming dragon's open mouth did not swallow Hoshikira Roro.

Just as it was about to reach him, it suddenly turned and crashed into the corridor in front of Hoshikira Roro.

Amidst the roar, the corridor in front of Hoshikira Roro completely exploded.

Within the massive noise, the fire dragon radiated an astonishing heat backflow, and its target was—

—The Cursed Spirit, Jogo!
