She faced the beam with disdain. Two mirrors—what did she have to fear? Illustrious had cracked one, but that had been a fluke; lightning wouldn't strike twice.
The hundred ice swords that had been meant for Illustrius and Souryuu now spun to meet the black beam. With a sweep of her arm they shot skyward in a roaring avalanche, determined to obliterate all before them.
Clash—torrents of ice met the black ray head-on. Thunder boomed, meteoric forces exploding outward, the impact whipping the sea into raging peaks and troughs.
The churning waters forced Ship Girls and Abyssal Warships below to fight in heaving waves; blood mist thickened, proclaiming that today only one side would live.
Even the Admirals beyond Azure Island shuddered at the sight of that black beam; through their screens they felt its world-ending power.
'Dido's incredible! A blast like that—Anchorage Princess is toast!'
'Not so fast. Look at all those ice swords—numbers count; enough ants can bring down an elephant.'
'Rubbish! Ants remain ants; when the elephant gets serious they die. Imagine that beam hitting a city—'
A city struck by that beam would first sprout a towering mushroom cloud, then vaporize every building and person, leaving a metropolis transformed into hell on earth.
Too terrible to picture, the Admirals dared not imagine the consequences of that beam falling on human soil.
Two figures hovered at a safe distance: Illustrious and Souryuu. Seeing Dido's strike about to land, they simultaneously paled and retreated like refugees.
Once certain they were clear, Souryuu glanced at Illustrious. 'So—think that black beam can finish Anchorage Princess?'
Illustrious answered softly, 'I don't know. Her Moon Ice Absolute Divine Mirror is formidable—it even stopped my matchless Sky-Sundering Sword. Still, I hope it fails and she's obliterated outright.'
"Hehehe! True, if Anchorage Princess still doesn't die after this, we're done for! We're almost out of strength—and that Dido, after firing such a terrifying Ship Skill, would be downright scary if she still had energy left," Canglong said with a laugh.
Although the hundred-plus ice-swords had been stunning at first, they quickly ran out of steam; their power was far below that of the black beam, so in moments they were all consumed, the beam continuing like lightning straight for Anchorage Princess.
"Damn it! I won't lose—come forth! Moon Ice Absolute Divine Mirror!" Seeing the black beam shred her hundred ice-swords, Anchorage Princess still refused to despair—she still had her ultimate defensive skill, the Moon Ice Absolute Divine Mirror.
Two Moon Ice Absolute Divine Mirrors interposed themselves, blocking the terrifying black beam for her.
"Boom!" When the beam struck the mirror and the blow was stopped, Anchorage Princess exulted. "Hehe! As expected, my Moon Ice Absolute Divine Mirror is the strongest! Just wait, you hateful Ship Girls—once this beam is over, I'll sink you one by one!"
A blush crept over Anchorage Princess's cheeks; the thought of what she would do next filled her with delight.
Crack. Her brows knitted; the pleasure on her face turned to misery. How—Illustrious's fluke had been bad enough, and now another accident? Was the black beam really this frightful? Hold on, Moon Ice Absolute Divine Mirror—if you fail, I'm finished!
Crack… crack… crash! However desperately she prayed, the first Moon Ice Absolute Divine Mirror, assailed without pause, finally shattered under the strain.
Destroying the first mirror had shaved only a fraction from the beam, yet even so its power could not be scorned; it sped onward and smashed into the second Moon Ice Absolute Divine Mirror.
"No—I don't want to die! Hold, please!" Panic showed on Anchorage Princess's face. For safety she threw up a Ship Qi Shield; though far weaker than the mirror, it gave some peace of mind, and she screamed for the mirror to endure.
Crack… crack… crash! No matter her cries, the inevitable came: the last Moon Ice Absolute Divine Mirror cracked apart under the relentless beam and disintegrated.
Having obliterated the final mirror, the beam shrank again to half its former size, yet still carried an aura of ruin as it slammed into her Ship Qi Shield.
Anchorage Princess despaired. If even the Moon Ice Absolute Divine Mirror could not stop the beam, how could her thin Ship Qi Shield? "Curses—before I've wiped out the Ship Girls and humans, am I to die here?"
Crack… crack… crash! Predictably, the shield lasted mere seconds before sharing the mirrors' fate and burst apart.
The black beam struck her squarely, pierced her graceful form, and bored straight through.
It plunged into the sea and struck the relic world's boundary wall; the whole realm quivered several times before stilling.
Finally, Anchorage Princess's bloodied body exploded in mid-air, scattering in the wind.
