Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 019. Rage and Sanity

Kyuubi was stunned. After seeing Naruto's resolute eyes, he immediately understood what the kid was thinking.

Although Naruto had known his identity for a long time, he didn't want anyone else to know. So now, facing danger, he wouldn't call for help—he wanted to deal with it on his own.

…And here he was, asking Nine-Tails for help over something so insignificant.

Kyuubi muttered a powerless complaint but still cut a portion of his chakra and transmitted it through the seal to Naruto.

This time, Naruto didn't resist the negative emotions in the Nine-Tails' chakra. Instead, he absorbed it fully.

In just seconds, the boy entered a berserk state. The corpses on the ground were instantly destroyed, and his gaze shot toward the moon outside the window.

"So… this is Nine-Tails' power? Damn… intoxicating," Naruto muttered, barely keeping a grip on his sanity.

With a deep sigh, he jumped out the window and sprinted out of the village.

Nine-Tails, still sealed, observed silently. "So that's it… and he deliberately chose a place with few people. Hmph. Does this kid even have a shred of mercy in him?"

Not far away, Captain Yunin and the ANBU team, still confronting the Cloud ninjas, immediately noticed Naruto's escape.

Even from hundreds of meters away, they could feel the violent, palpitating chakra. Their hearts skipped beats, and countless negative emotions bubbled up.

Is this… the rampage of the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki?

Uzuki Xiyan pulled out her black box, then a dagger, aiming at Captain Yunin. "Yunin guests? Aren't you coming with us?"

The Cloud ninjas looked like they'd just eaten something sour. They wanted to flee—but:

They were in Konoha territory.

A female ANBU, deadly with a sword, was in front of them.

She had a backup ANBU who specialized in stealth and escape techniques.

Escape was impossible.

Captain Yunin sighed. "Actions speak louder than words. We didn't attack the Jinchuriki… but your Jinchuriki seems to have gone berserk. Are you going to handle it or just stare?"

Uzuki Xiyan's face was icy. She glanced at the air beside her. "Hayate, what's going on with the Jinchuriki? Didn't you send a signal to Kakashi?"

Moonlight Hayate wheezed, clearly exhausted. "I fired the flare… but when I tried to protect the Jinchuriki, another black-clad ninja blocked me. Didn't kill me… just wasted time."

"Not killing, just wasting time…" Xiyan muttered, frowning. "Hailwind… looks like we're caught in something messy. From now on, missions outside the village are safer than inside."

Moonlight Gale nodded. "Yeah… safer outside."

Meanwhile, Naruto's rampage continued.

Even though he tried to control his mind, the streets didn't survive. Rocks, soil, street signs—nothing mattered in the path of his berserk chakra.

Villagers woke up to a horrifying sight: a blood-red beast tearing through their streets.

Many collapsed, hiding under quilts, shivering, not daring to breathe. Memories of the Nine-Tails' attack four years ago flashed through their minds.

Kakashi, on the rooftop of a nearby house, frowned. He pulled off his blindfold, and the Sharingan slowly rotated in the darkness.

Renzhuli… he's stronger than four years ago. Not a child needing protection anymore.

Following the violent chakra, Kakashi flickered through the shadows and quickly located Naruto in a remote park.

The park was a disaster: destroyed fitness equipment, long trails carved into the ground by his rampage.

Naruto finally noticed Kakashi and slowed his approach. Step by step, he moved closer.

Kakashi's palms sparked with lightning. He let out a sharp cry, aiming at the approaching Naruto.

And then… Naruto stopped.

The Nine-Tails' chakra vanished. He collapsed forward, and Kakashi caught him just in time.

Kakashi glanced at the wound on Naruto's arm and combined the signal flare information from Hayate. Slowly, he pieced together the story:

Someone tried to assassinate or abduct the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki. The attack hurt Naruto, triggering the berserk state and his escape. Everything else flowed from there.

But who attacked him… and why… Kakashi still didn't know. He could only report it to senior officials.

Yet the child's face… Kakashi froze. He thought of his long-dead teacher, the Fourth Hokage. Could this kid… be his child?

Before he could dwell on it, the Third Hokage appeared with a number of ANBU, staring at Naruto in Kakashi's arms.

"Kakashi, did you stop the Jinchuriki from going berserk?"

Kakashi shook his head. "By the time I arrived, he had exhausted himself and fallen unconscious. But during the rampage, he didn't harm villagers—only destroyed buildings around him."

The Third Hokage's heart sank. Even berserk, Naruto didn't hurt innocent villagers…

"Kakashi, well done. Hand the Jinchuriki over to me, continue guarding the area, and report to the Hokage Building later."

Kakashi nodded, hesitant as he looked at the unconscious boy.

Even so, he completed the security mission and checked on his two subordinates. They actually caused the Jinchuriki to go berserk?!

The Third Hokage glanced toward the Hyuga Clan territory and sighed. Tonight had been chaotic.

The leader of the Yunin envoy had been beaten to death in Hyuga territory. Naruto had lost control and fled.

Fortunately, the boy had enough sense to keep a hold of himself while running, avoiding further disasters.

Otherwise… this night would have rivaled the chaos of the original Nine-Tails attack.
