Heaven Canceller's Hospital. Corridor.
"EEEEEEEEK!"
A scream rang out in the quiet hospital wing.
"Ugh... How disgusting! How can you have such a filthy mind?!"
Shokuhou Misaki rubbed her arms furiously, her delicate cheeks flushed red. She looked at Yuuya as if he were a particularly perverted cockroach.
"It gives me goosebumps! Why are you so unfazed? Don't you feel any shame?!"
She had looked into his mind. And she had seen... things.
Fantasies. Harem plans. Detailed "appreciations" of female anatomy.
"This is the instinct of nature," Yuuya said solemnly, stroking his chin like a philosopher. "Reproduction is the driving force of life. My thoughts are honest. I am not a hypocrite."
He looked her up and down approvingly.
"What a disgusting gaze! Don't look at me!" Shokuhou hugged herself, retreating a step.
"Don't worry," Yuuya chuckled, shrugging. "I'm a respectable person. I have principles."
Internally, he smirked.
[System: Mental Defense Successful]
The trick had worked perfectly.
The Star Grail had filtered his mind. It blocked all references to the System, Aleister's true nature, and his reincarnation.
Instead, it showed her a constructed truth:
He was a Gemstone (a natural esper) with inexplicable multi-powers.
He was a "Chaotic Good" hero who wanted to save girls.
He was a massive pervert with a harem complex.
"Who knows what you might do?" Shokuhou sighed, her wariness fading significantly. "Teenage boys are dangerous creatures."
Despite the lewdness, she had seen his core. He had no malice. He genuinely wanted to save people.
He had saved Dolly. He had saved the Sisters. He had defeated Accelerator with a single punch.
"You really are terrifying, Mr. Takahashi," Shokuhou said, regaining her composure. "You aren't just a Spatial User. You are a Gemstone. The strongest Gemstone in the world."
"To think you forced Aleister to stop the Level 6 Shift... That's impressive."
"So," Yuuya smiled. "Join my Dark Side unit. HARMONY."
"No way!" Shokuhou refused instantly. "I don't want to get involved in the Dark Side again. And I certainly don't want to kill people."
"I won't let you see blood," Yuuya promised. "With your Mental Out, we can prevent tragedies without violence. You don't want to see another Dolly incident, do you?"
Shokuhou fell silent.
She knew the truth now. If she walked away, another tragedy would happen. She was a Queen, but she had a soft heart.
"Okay," she muttered, looking away. "I'll join. But you can't force me to do assassination missions."
"Deal. I swear on my integrity."
"I'm really worried about the integrity of a man whose mind is 90% lust," Shokuhou deadpanned.
"..."
Yuuya sighed, mimicking Kamijou Touma's posture.
"Fukou da (Such misfortune)."
He looked at his right hand.
"As expected of the World Rejecter's narrative slot. It's only been two days, and I'm already surrounded by girls."
In the original lore, Kamisato Kakeru gathered a harem of 100 girls in a month. Yuuya was on track to beat that record.
"I'm going to see Dolly," Shokuhou said, ignoring his monologue. She turned toward the recovery ward, her mood lifting.
"Wait. I'll come too."
...
Tokiwadai Dormitory. Room 208.
Shirai Kuroko opened the door and shuffled inside.
A black thundercloud hung over her head. Her eyes were bloodshot.
"Onee-sama has a boyfriend... They fed each other..."
The image of that Ape feeding Onee-sama ice cream burned in her brain. She wanted to grind her teeth to dust. She wanted to kick him into the river.
Hateful...
Splash.
The sound of a shower running came from the bathroom.
Kuroko was in such a bad mood she forgot to say "I'm back." She collapsed onto her bed face-first, looking like a corpse.
Then, she heard a voice over the running water.
"Damn it... Why does that guy keep popping into my head?"
It was Misaka Mikoto's voice.
"He actually dared to kiss my cheek... What a jerk."
Kuroko froze.
Her eyes lost their color. She lay on the bed, paralyzed, as if struck by real lightning.
Kiss...
Cheek...
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
