Hogwarts – Chamber of Secrets

- Souta -

With a flash of fire, we appear in the Chamber of Secrets.

"Thank you, Fawkes," I say, getting a trill in return.

"Amazing." The words just come out after looking around the room, huge pillars surrounded by coiled snakes, statues that are carved out of wood in the shapes of serpent heads, and a giant face carved into the wall of what I'm assuming was Slytherin himself.

But in the centre of the chamber itself is the giant corpse of the basilisk, and what a beast it was. It must've been about 60 feet or more; to think Harry fought this with a sword; the kid deserves a medal.

"You fought this thing, Fawkes?" I ask as he trills and nods his reply from my shoulder.

"Well, you're a brave bird to fight something like this." After hearing me, he puts his head high and puffs out his chest, getting a laugh from me.

Walking up to the corpse, I touch its scales, activating extract as I do. There are a lot of options, but I got the one I came for even if it's not ideal.

1x Degraded Basilisk Spirit (Harry Potter)

Looking at the cylinder of the basilisk spirit, I can't help but think that even though it's a shame that it degraded, I'm just glad that I was able to get the spirit at all with how long it has been.

Putting it away, I wander around the chamber looking for anything hidden. After a few minutes without finding any hidden entrances and having no way to enter the sealed mouth of Slytherin without Parseltongue, I decided it was time to leave.

Diagon Alley – Gringotts

- Souta -

"Next!" A goblin's gruff voice called out.

Being next in line, I step up towards the goblin's desk.

"What do you want, wizard?" The goblin sneers while looking down at me from his high desk.

What better way to show you have a hate boner for wizards than literally looking down on them? I probably wouldn't have even come in here if I didn't need the galleons, and even then, I'm taking a loss on the gold due to what year it is. Next time I come here, I'll just bring actual money to exchange.

"I'd like to exchange 2 ounces of gold for galleons, please." I say, trying to be polite in hopes we can be quick about it.

He grunts his annoyance out as I pass him the gold, which he immediately bites to check if it's fake or not before telling me to wait a moment.

After a few moments, he comes back with a pouch of coins.

"Here you are, wizard: 145 Galleons, 13 Sickles and 20 Knuts. Is that all you wanted?" He says, squinting down at me, all teeth showing.

"Yes, it was lovely to meet you. Bye for now." Replying with sarcasm as I put the pouch in my bag, he just grunts, shouting for the next person in line.

Walking past the guards and out of the bank, I step into the main street of Diagon Alley, and it's quite lively, with people going about their day. Some stores have signs that magically promote themselves.

My first course of action, though, is to get a wand since I am not sure how much it will be, and with my currently limited funds, it's the best place to start, so with that, I make my way over to Ollivanders.

Stepping into the store, the bell chimes to indicate my arrival to the owner, who is currently not behind the counter. As I look around, I see shelves lined up with various boxes, all for housing wands of different types.

"Why hello there." I jump as I whip my head around to the voice behind me.

"Holy crap, are you trying to give me a heart attack?" I say, holding my chest from the jump scare.

Laughing, he says, "Sorry, young man, but it's always fun to scare the new arrivals, but they are much younger than yourself and usually getting a wand for their school year. Rarely do I get someone older coming through these doors, and if I do, it's for a replacement wand, so what can I help you with?"

After introducing myself, I say, "I'd like to purchase a wand, please; do you have a set price for your wands?"

"All wands are 7 galleons; a lot of the materials I use are sourced from the ministry, with me being the only legal wandmaker in the country. If I had to gather the materials myself, they would cost more." He nods and walks into the back room before coming back with a few boxes.

"Right, let's get started. Which is your wand arm?"

"My right." As soon as I say that, a tape measure shoots out from behind Ollivander as it starts measuring me all over, even between my nose.

"Try this, hawthorn and dragon heartstring; give it a flick." He pushes the box forward while opening it.

Grabbing the wand, I go to flick it, but it gets snatched out of my hand before I can.

"No, definitely not that one, maybe this one." he says, handing me another wand

Grabbing the new one, I flick it, but nothing happens.

"Not that one either." He mutters.

After a couple of minutes going through various wands, he hands me a box, saying he has a feeling this will be the one.

Taking out the wand, I feel a tingle in my fingertips as I pick it up. As I flicked it, sparkles of light green came out of the tip of the wand, and I knew this was the one.

"Yes, this is the one redwood, phoenix feather, 11 inches and firm. A truly great wand made with highly sought-out wood that is said to bring good fortune to its wielder; please do take great care of it." He says while smiling.

"I will, thank you. Do you sell a holster and a care kit for the wand here at all?" I ask, still in awe at the wand in my hand.

"Why yes, I do. Would you like a leg or wrist holster?"

"I'll take the wrist holster, please. How much will that be?"

Nodding, he gets what I ask for from under his counter while saying, "That will be 10 galleons altogether."

Handing him the galleons, I strap on the holster with the wand already inside and put away the cleaning kit before turning to Ollivander and thanking him again.

Leaving Ollivanders, I make my way to the bookshop next. While I might have copied a lot of books already from the school library, it's worth still checking for any additional books, plus I'll also get to pick up years 1 through 7 books on all subjects, well, apart from muggle studies.

After entering the bookshop, I head straight over to the counter, behind which is a kind-looking old man with round glasses reading a book of his own.

"Hi there, I'm looking to purchase a large number of books. What I'm looking for is the current Hogwarts years 1 through 7 books on all subjects except Muggle studies and any books you have on spells, magical plants and creatures, if you have any, please." I say as he looks towards me as I get close to the counter.

"That's a big order, but I can help you with what you need. Are you a new student transferring to Hogwarts?" He asks while getting up and opening a few boxes behind him which have books in.

"No, not a new student. I was just visiting before I head back to Japan. I just had a few things to do here and thought I'd pick up some books to study since Hogwarts is one of the top schools."

Nodding as he listens, he brings the last of the books to the desk.

"You'd be right about that young man; I remember my days there, the best days of my life. I'd go back in a heartbeat if I had the chance. Now onto the books, I have all the books the students used this year like you wanted. I'll throw in a discount for them since they will most likely be reprinted with a few changes next year as the students move up, but the other books you wanted will stay at their normal prices."

"The books I picked out for you were a few I would personally recommend. We have one called Magical Botanical; this has everything you need relating to various plants, even some of the more obscure ones. Next, we have a few spell-related books, such as Standard Household Charms, A Dueller's Dream, and Spells for the Unexpected."

"Finally, with the list of schoolbooks already coming with Fantastic Beasts by Newt Scamander, which has all you need to know about magical creatures, the only book I could think of that you may find interesting is the Monster Book of Monsters. It's quite a finicky thing to read, with it trying to bite you now and then, but it does have some great information regarding the more dangerous beasts out there," he says while wrestling with a chained-up book.

"These are all amazing, thank you. How much will it all come to?" I say, wincing at him fighting the book. Leaning over the desk, I stroke the spine of the book, which calms it down.

"Amazing, how did you do that? Blasted things are always so troublesome to deal with," he says in wonder.

"Well, I've heard you have to stroke the spine of that particular book to calm it down, which allows you to read it." I say, scratching my cheek.

"That's going to really help out the next time I have to handle one of them; for the tip, I'll knock extra off that specific book. It would've been 70 Galleons for the lot, but I'll do 65 for you instead." He says happily.

Getting the amount from my bag, I hand it over to him before asking him if he could shrink the books down for me, as I hadn't had the chance to learn it yet. Giving me a funny look, he does as I asked before I shove all the tiny books into my bag, letting him know I'll have someone enlarge them later on.

After leaving the bookshop I went into a few more stores where I ended up purchasing a few more potions, ingredients, and various types of magical alcohol that I thought would sell well in my own store, as well as a bit extra for Great Red.

I had also wanted to get every flavour of ice cream from Fortescue's to take with me, but I didn't have the means to carry it about with me without it melting, but I will definitely come back for all the flavours next time. Just imagine the mystic fruit I can make out of it – free ice cream of any flavour whenever I want. Big Mom would kill for it.

Overall, I ended up spending 60 galleons on my purchases, leaving me with only 10 galleons left. I was going to buy a trunk to store things in, but Dumbledore had said not to, as he had his own storage item that he was going to give me. To be honest, I was more than happy to accept after checking some of the prices around here, they can get really expensive. A trunk with a library you could enter went up to as much as 180 galleons, so I'm glad to not be paying that much for one.

The only other place I wanted to go was Knockturn Alley, but I didn't think I was prepared enough to deal with any of the shadier members of the wizarding world just yet, so that was off the cards for now; maybe next time.

Hogwarts – Headmaster's Office

Sitting back in Dumbledore's office to say goodbye before I headed back home and to pick up the stuff he had packed away for me.

"So, today's the day you're heading home. Is there anything you need help with in order to do so?" Dumbledore asks, stroking his beard.

"No, it's alright. I'll head back into the forest and go back the way I came. I'm not sure when, but I'll come back to visit again. I'll bring some books from my world next time; I'm sure you'll find a way to make use of them."

Hearing a chirp, I turn to Fawkes.

"Yes, yes, I haven't forgotten about you; I'll find lots of goodies to bring back for you as well." I say, stroking the back of Fawkes' head.

"I will look forward to it, my boy, and again, I can't thank you enough for what you've done for me and for young Mr. Potter. I'm sure you've had an inkling that I would be getting you an expanded trunk when I asked you to not purchase one in Diagon Alley, and you would be somewhat correct." He says, pulling a briefcase from under his desk.

"For what you've done, it deserves more than a pass for the library and a regular expanded case, so I got in contact with a dear old friend of mine who, as it happened, had a few cases to spare. These briefcases are a personal design of his; if you twist the locks clockwise, it will appear to be a regular briefcase should you need it."

With a twist of the lock, he opens the case to show an empty briefcase before closing it again and twisting the locks back into place before opening the briefcase again, which shows a dark hole with a ladder sticking out of the briefcase slightly.

"I would take you on a tour of the case, but I am not as spry as I used to be, but Newt has certainly improved his design since his first one; inside will lead you to a house in the case with all the types of rooms a wizard would need: potion room, storage, library, bedroom, guest room, kitchen, bathroom, study and living room. But the main feature of the case would be the back door that leads to a large variety of biomes for creatures to live in.

"I'm sure on your journey you may find interesting companions that may wish to travel with you or for you to keep them safe should they need it, so in this case you won't have to worry about any of that." He says, smiling.

"This is amazing; it must've cost a fortune. Are you sure I can have it? I wasn't expecting this type of case at all." I say I was genuinely shocked at getting a case from Newt Scamander.

"Of course, my boy, you don't have to worry; it didn't cost me anything. If I had to say, Newt probably saw seeing Fawkes again as payment enough." Dumbledore says while letting out a laugh.

"Thank you; really, this will help me so much." Saying as I bow my head in gratitude.

After half an hour more of talking with Dumbledore and Fawkes, I decide it's time to head out.

"I had a wonderful time at Hogwarts. I wish I could've gone to school here, but just getting to stay here, explore and study in the library was an experience I won't forget. I promise to come back and visit again."

"I think you would've been a wonderful student and an even greater wizard; you are always welcome to stay at Hogwarts when you come back, and we'll be looking forward to seeing you again."

We both stand up and shake hands before I turn and leave for the forbidden forest.

Hogwarts – Forbidden Forest

Stepping into the clearing once again, I'm immediately met with stares from all the magical creatures resting here; remembering me from the previous visit, some head over my way for some food.

"Hello again, I'm just stopping by before leaving. I've got more fruit for you all here, and Hagrid said he'll be over later with proper food for you all." I say, knowing they are smart enough to understand me.

Pulling out the fresh fruit from my backpack now that it's empty of everything else, with it all being in my new briefcase, I begin feeding them all again. While feeding them, I will attempt to extract again in case there are any new creatures here, but from the looks of it, they all seem to be the same as last time, so I haven't got my hopes up.

Sitting down in the grass, I put my bag and briefcase to the side as all the creatures make their way towards me. I toss some apples to the hippogriffs, who snap them out of the air, while the thestrals really seemed to like the couple of blood oranges I had on me last time, so I picked up some extra for them, and they are now happily eating away at the peeled oranges.

As for the rest of the creatures, they aren't as fussy as the other 2 types of creatures, so they were just grabbing what they wanted. After about 20 minutes all the fruit was gone, and most of the creatures had dispersed back to their respective areas.

Sitting there I feel a tug at my right sleeve; looking down I notice a niffler trying to roll my sleeve up. Realising that it was after my bracelet, I stop it before it can steal it from me.

"I can't give you that; it's important to me. I can show you, but you can't take it, ok?" I say, getting a nod in return from the niffler.

Rolling up my sleeve, I show him my bracelet, and the niffler's eyes widen at the gleaming gold of the bracelet as it makes a grabbing hand motion towards my bracelet.

Laughing at its expressive appearance, I say, "Sorry, I can't give it to you, but it's beautiful, right?" It just nods, completely enraptured by the bracelet.

Feeling bad for the niffler I pull 3 shiny silver sickles from my bag before handing them to it, which has its attention switching from the bracelet to happily rubbing the sickles against its cheek.

"Well, I've got to go now, everyone. It was great seeing you again. I'll pop back again sometime in the future. Stay safe." I say, standing up and waving to them all.

Grabbing my bag and briefcase to set off, I realise I must've left the latches loose on the briefcase when I opened it last. This time I make sure I've sealed it properly before I head further into the forest and dig up a small pit to jump into.

Switching to my yokai form with the bracelet already transformed, I pour Yoki into the leaf, which has it glowing, and imagining going home, I jump into the pit, and like last time, I'm surrounded by coloured mist. After a few moments of spinning, I jump after feeling the same tugging as last time, and I'm met with the lounge room in the store.

Well, at least I made it back home safely and back to the store. I wonder if it remembers the last location I jumped from or if I got lucky and it's actually random. I suppose I'll find out the more I travel in the future.

Shifting my form back I have a quick stretch before heading out of the store and making my way home. I was going to call Dad to let him know I was home, but I thought I'd surprise him instead.

Opening the front door quietly, I sneak into the house. Seeing his shoes, I know he's home, and after taking off my own, I creep up to the kitchen. As I get to the door, I listen to hear if he's in there before...

"BOO!!"

Whatever anyone says, I did not scream like a girl; grabbing my chest, I turn around only to see my dad laughing his ass off.

"Dad, how did you know I was back?" I say genuinely baffled.

Trying to get his laughing under control, he says, "I think you forgot Souta, but I set up the wards around the store and the house. Seeing you sneaking up to the kitchen, I had an idea of what you were trying to do. It's only fair I get one over on you."

Ah, I forgot about the wards. "Fair play, old man; just you wait, I'll get you back for it."

"You can try son but you're too much of a rookie to pull one over on me,", son, he says, smirking.

Grumbling, I grab a drink from the fridge before heading to the living room with Dad.

Sitting down, Dad says, "So, how was the trip? It wasn't too dangerous, was it?"

Hearing his question, I told him about the world I went to and what I did there, but I left out some of the details about my talk with Dumbledore and the creatures and items I picked up while I was there. I also left out the fact I knew what the story of the world was about since Harry Potter didn't exist here.

"It sounds like you had a great time there, and this briefcase you got from this Dumbledore sounds like its very own pocket dimension. At least he appreciated your help enough to give you more than what you asked for." He said, amazed by what I had told him.

"So now that you don't need to use live animals or corpses, are you planning to make more Zoan fruits now?"

"Oh yes definitely, I'm glad I don't have to sacrifice any animals, and any I do end up eventually fighting with will be used as materials for the store instead of it all being used on a mystic fruit.

"That's good. Well, do you want to show me around the briefcase? It sounds like a great piece of magic." He asks.

"Yeah, let's do it. Wizards might not have powerful magic due to not being magically strong, unless of course you're the headmaster. He had a lot of magic power, to the point I think he could lay waste to most of Britain if pushed to it, but as I was saying, they make up for that with versatility instead. You can check out some of the books I brought back with me."

Putting the briefcase on the floor, I open it, ready to go down, only for a black shadow to jump out and hold onto my face.

"Souta!" Dad shouts.

"Aaah!! What the hell." I shout, grabbing whatever the soft thing is that's covering my face; I pull it away while getting a good look at it only to see a niffler.

"No way, did you follow me here? Now my case latches being loose makes sense; I knew I locked it properly." I say, holding up the niffler and looking into its eyes.

It gives me a nod and goes to grab the wrist with the bracelet on it.

"Wait, you're the one I gave the coins to; you did this to get the bracelet, you little rascal." Getting a nod from it again, it squirms in my hands, so I put it down on the couch.

"So, I'm assuming this is a friend of yours?" Dad asks, looking at the creature curiously.

"Well, I wouldn't say friend, but I've seen it twice and fed it both times. It's a niffler; they love shiny things to the point they will destroy things to get the thing they want to take. They also have the ability to find treasures, and they store all the things they like in their pouch, which acts as a sort of pocket dimension. This one wanted my bracelet, so it followed me, sneaky little thing." I say, letting Dad know what to expect.

"You've certainly brought an interesting character home. Is it a boy or a girl?" Dad says, stroking the niffler on the head as it lets out a clicking purr with its snout.

"I don't know, to be honest; there is probably a way to tell, but I haven't gone through the magical creature's book properly yet. I mean, I could ask it; magical creatures are quite smart."

Looking at the creature, I ask it, "Are you a boy?"

It looks at me and nods and then starts looking around the room, probably for something shiny.

"That was easy, so what are you going to do with it?" Dad says, clearly amused by the niffler.

"I don't know; I'm not planning to go back anytime soon, so I'm just going to have to look after him for now and try to keep him out of trouble. If we let him do his own thing, he'll end up robbing a bank or 2." I say with a wry smile.

Putting my hand through my hair and sighing, I pick the little guy up.

"Let's just check out the briefcase; I'll find a way to deal with him later."

______________________________________________________________

I was playing around with the idea that Souta can get degraded extracts and what better to test it on than a basilisk that has been dead for a whole year.

I know I haven't really use the store all that much yet but it will get used as much as the story will be about him trading it will also be about his adventures to other worlds interacting with people and creating things, I don't want him just stuck in his store, plus I have an idea for the store which you will have to find out in the future. ;D
