Many Magic Cores are scattered across the world, each a potent source of immense power. These vital artifacts grant their bearers extraordinary abilities, while the machine analyzes each core and generates unique skills optimized for its host. Choosing the right core can shape a bearer's strength, specialty, and path to destiny.
Magic Cores can be extracted and fused with compatible human hosts. When a core successfully bonds with an individual, it awakens its magic within them, transforming the human into its bearer. The machine evaluates each core and its abilities to determine what kind of System the bearer will receive. Whoever possesses any of the cores can gain powers or traits derived from the supernatural or superhuman being it contains.
Agents may attempt to extract and fuse multiple cores, but doing so puts their lives in grave peril. If they succeed, adding and fusing an additional core can grant new powers or enhance existing abilities, though control depends entirely on the bearer's strength, will, and adaptability.
Martial Core – a core forged through combat-focused magic. It grants the bearer conjurable magical weapons and combat equipment suited for battle, along with mastery over them. The core enhances the bearer's strength, endurance, reflexes, accuracy, and precision, while providing advanced proficiency in weaponry. Through continuous training and combat experience, the core further refines the bearer's combat abilities and arsenal.
Elemental Core – a core infused with the raw forces of nature. It grants the bearer the ability to control powers derived from elemental beings and allows the manipulation of water, wind, earth, fire, lightning, ice, nature, lava, and other natural manifestations, and inherits abilities and traits from the elemental being bound to the core.
Covenant Core – a core centered on bonds and partnerships. It grants the bearer the ability to form magical contracts with creatures, beasts, spirits, or mythical entities. The bearer can team up with these beings in battle, using their abilities together, and can make contracts with multiple partners if they wish.
Psionic Core – a core born from concentrated mental energy. Grants the bearer control over psionic abilities and mental combat. The bearer wields their mind as a weapon, attacking and manipulating the thoughts of their opponents, harnessing the full extent of their imagination and focus.
Abyssal Core – a core imbued in darkness, corruption, and forbidden energies. Grants the bearer mastery over shadow, decay, curses, and other forbidden dark magic that defy natural law. The core constantly tests the bearer's will and control, tempting them toward corruption while amplifying their power in battle.
Radiance Core – a core infused with divine light and purity. Grants the bearer mastery over light, holy, and protective magic. The bearer can heal allies, shield them from attacks, dispel darkness, and channel radiant energy to smite foes. The core strengthens with the bearer's faith, morality, and selflessness. The bearer's very presence becomes a beacon of divine power, illuminating hope and purging darkness wherever they go.
Nexus Core – a mysterious core that defies conventional magic systems. Grants the bearer access to extraordinary, reality-bending abilities. Its powers are unpredictable and often aligned to the bearer's creativity and skill. The bearer can reshape reality itself, bending thought into unstoppable force.
Ascension Core – a catalyst core does not grant power on its own. Instead, it forces the evolution of any other core fused within the bearer, dragging their abilities beyond natural limits and capable of granting godlike powers. The process is brutal, often tearing apart the body and mind as the cores struggle to adapt. Many who attempt ascension lose control, suffer irreversible mutations, or die before the transformation completes. Only those with extraordinary will, strength, and adaptability can survive and command the evolved power.
