Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 Lunch

Regina and her two companions were all popular figures on campus, and their every move attracted much attention.

The fact that Mike was stood up by the three of them was naturally seen by the surrounding students.

At this moment, most of them had an expression of watching a good show, staring at Mike, who was standing still, "at a loss."

Apparently, because of Regina's prank, Mike was "isolated" by others.

Of course, there were also some girls in the crowd who looked at Mike with "sympathy."

Mike had a steady mindset and didn't feel awkward facing the various strange looks from everyone. His gaze swept around the cafeteria, and he unexpectedly found Georgie eating alone in a corner.

So, Mike carried his food over and sat down opposite him.

Georgie seemed not to have seen Mike's sudden arrival, only lowering his head and continuing to eat.

It wasn't until most of the people in the cafeteria shifted their attention away from Mike that Georgie looked up and glanced at Mike, then warned, "Mike, you're in big trouble. Regina's nickname at school is the Queen Bee..."

(Queen Bee: Controls the life and death of the hive, never lacking followers.)

Next, Georgie quietly explained Regina's glorious history to Mike: she had been on the cover of the town's fashion magazine; she lived in an independent villa, and her family was very wealthy; she was the leader of the school's The Plastics, etc.

Georgie talked a lot, but when he looked up, he saw Mike gnawing on a fried chicken leg, looking indifferent.

This won't do! Seeing that Mike hadn't realized the seriousness of the problem, Georgie looked towards a table in the middle and gestured, "Look over there~"

Mike turned his head and immediately saw a tall, handsome boy with a sunny disposition.

"See him? He's Aaron Samuels from twelfth grade, and also the quarterback and captain of the school's football team." At this point, Georgie lowered his voice and gossiped mysteriously, "Besides that, I heard Aaron is also Regina's ex-boyfriend...

So, if you don't want to get into trouble, it's best to stay away from Regina."

Football is popular in America, and Aaron Samuels, as the main player on the football team, was naturally a celebrity-like figure at school.

Mike had just arrived at school, and if he offended Aaron, it would probably not go smoothly for him, whether he wanted to join the football team or study peacefully at school.

"You eat slowly, I'm leaving first." Georgie had given all the warnings he needed to, and not wanting to attract attention, he decisively picked up his empty plate and left the table.

Watching Georgie leave, Mike gnawed on his fried chicken while pondering.

His intelligence had now exceeded 150, and high school studies held no difficulty for him at all.

Thinking of Georgie's advice, Mike focused his attention on football. He realized that perhaps taking up football as a hobby would be quite suitable.

Thinking of this, Mike turned his head again to look at Aaron, the football team captain. At this moment, the other party also happened to look up, and their gazes met in the air.

There were no sparks, and no tension. Both of them nodded friendly, and then both withdrew their gazes.

Just as Mike thought Aaron was a good person, a girl carrying a tray suddenly bumped into the table he was sitting at.

The bump was not light and made a lot of noise.

Mike steadied the sliding tray on the table, and a few drops of oil inevitably stained his cuff. He looked up unhappily and found that it was another hot and beautiful blonde girl opposite him.

"I'm sorry... I'm sorry..." The girl apologized while frantically picking up her scattered lunch.

"It's fine, just be careful next time~" Mike saw that the other party's panic didn't seem feigned, so after wiping off the stains on his cuff with a napkin, he generously forgave her.

The girl tidied up her tray and also noticed that Mike's casual suit might not be cheap, so she apologized, "I'm really sorry. How about you give me your clothes, and I'll wash them clean and return them to you?"

"Thank you for your kindness, but it's not necessary." Mike declined her offer.

The girl seemed somewhat touched that Mike was relatively easy to talk to. She said, "My name is Cady Heron. If you need compensation later, you can find me in twelfth grade."

Cady Heron, sixteen years old, grew up in Africa with her parents, who were zoologists, and was a transfer student in twelfth grade this year.

Due to her environment, Cady, who had always been homeschooled, was very unaccustomed to the public school's teaching methods.

She didn't know that she couldn't eat casually during class, nor did she know that she needed the teacher's permission to go to the restroom during class.

The difference in concepts made Cady appear to behave strangely, and combined with her rustic clothing, this further led to her being ostracized by her classmates. In two weeks, this beautiful girl hadn't even made a single friend at school.

After another glance at Mike, who was eating with his head down, Cady carried her tray and walked out of the cafeteria.

Unlike the calm and open-minded Mike, the delicate and sensitive Cady couldn't find a place to sit in the cafeteria.

An "outsider" like her could only go outside and find a deserted place to eat her lunch.

Just as she passed by Mike, Cady felt a sharp pain in her knee, stumbled, and with a gasp, she fell towards Mike.

Mike quickly stood up upon hearing the sound, supporting the "falling" girl with one hand and catching her tray with the other.

At this moment, a bright red apple rolled out of the tray...

Fortunately, Mike was quick-footed, hooked the apple with the tip of his right foot, and sent it back onto the tray.

Looking down, the girl in his arms was staring at him with an adoring expression.

Mike: What kind of youthful campus idol romance plot is this?

If he didn't know Cady's true situation, Mike would have really thought this girl was coveting his "looks" and deliberately faking a fall.

He put down the tray and helped the girl sit down. Mike beckoned and picked up two small light clusters from the air.

[Logical Thinking Attribute + 1]

[Skin Texture Attribute + 1]

What kind of strange attributes are these? This was the first time Mike had picked up such attributes.

After he merged these two attributes, he found that [Logical Thinking] went into the Intelligence attribute, and [Skin Texture] integrated into the Physique attribute.

However, the integration of these two strange attributes did not increase Mike's two basic attributes.

Without further thought, Mike looked at the girl in front of him and asked, "Do you need me to take you to the infirmary?"

Cady was currently checking her knee. She had grown up in the wilds of Africa and was quite experienced with various sprains and abrasions.

After moving her knee again, Cady found that besides some redness, swelling, and a small abrasion, her knee had no other problems.

Taking out a portable band-aid and applying it to the wound, Cady smiled and said, "No need, I'm fine now.

Uh, thank you for your... help earlier~"

Cady thought for a moment but couldn't find an appropriate adjective.
