Arthur had one job: buy organic kale
As he stood in the produce aisle, he realised he did not actually know what Kale looked like.He grabbed a bunch of leafy greens that looked sufficiently "healthy" and headed for the checkout.That's when he saw her ---his ex -girlfriend's mother, Mrs.Higgins, the woman who once told him he had "the survival instincts of a ham sandwich".
Arthur panicked.He couldn't let her see him.He sucked behind a display of artisanal sourdough,but his leafy greens were too tall
"Arthur?" a voice boomed.
He froze.He slowly turned around, holding the greens over his face like a botanical musk."l'm sorry , you must have me confused with a different...bush".
Mrs.Higgins squinted."Arthur, why are you holding a decorative fern from the lobby display?And more importantly, why are you trying to eat it?"
