Chapter 159 - THE DAWN OF SATO

Seeing Naea switch off the air conditioner, carefully stripping away her coat and shirt with such instinctive, unspoken care, destroyed the last shred of Akira's self-control.

Her heart swelled to a bursting point. Reaching out, Akira gently eased Naea back onto the plush mattress, hovering over her like a dark, protective shadow.

Akira brought one hand up, her long fingers softly framing the side of Naea's jaw. As she did, the soft cloth wrapped around Akira's wrist shifted and Naea's eyes locked onto it.

It was the scarf.

Naea froze, her gaze darting from the worn fabric back to Akira's flushed face. "The scarf..." Naea whispered, her breath hitching. "You... you kept this?"

Akira leaned down closer, her charcoal eyes reflecting the dim golden lights of the suite. Her voice dropped into a rough, low murmur.

"Yesterday... when everything felt devastated and ruined... this was the only anchor keeping me tethered to this world, Naea."

A sharp lump formed in Naea's throat. Lifting both of her hands, she cupped Akira's hot, feverish cheeks, her thumbs trembling against Akira's cheekbones as she searched the rogue's gaze.

"Why...?" Naea's voice broke into a delicate, agonizing whisper. "Why do you love me so much ? " .

Akira looked directly into her eyes, her gaze immovable, utterly absolute.

"There is no reason," Akira breathed, her hot breath washing over Naea's lips. "I don't need a reason to love you, Naea. Because if I love you for a reason... and that reason disappears tomorrow... does that mean my love ends too? No. Never. That's why I have no reason to love you and I don't ever want one."

Tears instantly welled in Naea's eyes, glistening under the faint light.

Naea pulled Akira downward. She closed the distance until their foreheads rested against one another, their noses brushing gently, their quick, trembling breaths mingling in the tiny inch of space left between their lips.

Then, Naea made the first move.

Closing her eyes, Naea leaned up and pressed her lips firmly against Akira's. A single, silent tear escaped her eyelashes, tracking down her cheek as she yielded completely to the moment.

Her lips were soft, desperate, and overflowing with months of suppressed yearning. Naea captured Akira's lower lip smooching, tenderly biting, and tasting her with an agonizing, intoxicating passion that sent a violent shiver straight down Akira's spine.

Overwhelmed by the sensation, Akira's eyes fluttered shut.

She kissed back with equal intensity, her arms wrapping tight around Naea's frame, pulling her up against her chest. The kiss deepened naturally, breaking down every wall, every doubt, and every scar between them. Their lips slid together seamlessly in a slow, feverish rhythm tongues softly brushing, tasting, and exchanging saliva in a deep, intoxicating union that erased the rest of the world.

Trapped in the rising heat of the closed room, wrapped in each other's arms, the fever burning in Akira's veins bled straight into Naea's soul leaving no space for painful memories, only the undeniable, scorching reality of their devotion.

In the middle of the deep, suffocating kiss, Naea's rhythm suddenly shifted. Driven by a surge of sharp, uncontainable passion, she sank her teeth firmly into Akira's lower lip, inflicting a sharp, stinging bite.

"Aah!"

Akira winced, instantly pulling back. She brought the back of her hand to her lower lip, feeling the metallic tang of blood welling up at the corner of her mouth. Her charcoal eyes widened in absolute shock as she looked down at Naea.

"Are you crazy?!" Akira rasped out, her voice raspy with heat and lingering fever. "What on earth did you do that for...?"

Shaken, Akira made a move to sit up and reach for a tissue to clean the bleeding, but she barely managed to shift an inch before Naea acted.

Reaching up with sudden, fierce determination, Naea wrapped her fingers tightly around the back of Akira's neck, yanking her straight back down.

The movement was so swift that their noses bumped together hard, their eyes locking into an intensely hot, breathless stare from millimeters away. Naea's chest heaved, her eyes dark with a wild, magnetic intensity.

"That..." Naea whispered, her hot breath washing directly over Akira's bleeding lip, "...is your punishment."

Before Akira could even process the words, Naea brought both hands up, locking them around Akira's neck like a vice, and pulled her down into a ruthless, wildly passionate kiss.

Naea didn't hold back for a single second. She captured Akira's bleeding lip with absolute possessiveness, tasting the crimson drop of blood as her own, licking and sucking at the tiny wound with an intoxicating mix of tenderness and dominance.

The sharp sting melted instantly under the sheer heat of Naea's lips. Akira groaned softly against Naea's mouth, her lingering shock completely evaporating into the flames.

Abandoning all thought of stopping the blood or keeping her distance, Akira wrapped her arms tightly around Naea's waist, locking her close as they surrendered entirely to the frantic, beautiful chaos of the night.

The heat in the room was getting unbearable, but neither of them cared. Akira's body was completely drenched in sweat, glistening in the dim, warm light of the suite as her fever reached its peak. Heavy beads of perspiration dripped from her forehead, tracing down her neck and bare chest, soaking into the fabric of her undershirt.

Driven by an overwhelming, primal hunger, Akira's hands slid down to the hem of Naea's nightgown. Without severing the breathless, blood-tasted kiss for even a single second, Akira gathered the soft silk in her fingers and pulled it up, sliding it over Naea's head and casting it onto the floor.

Naea gasped softly into Akira's mouth, left shivering in only her delicate undergarments. The warm air of the room hit her bare skin, instantly contrasting with the burning furnace of Akira's body pressed against her.

Reaching out with her arm, Akira grabbed the thick, plush blanket lying at the edge of the bed and pulled it over both of them, sealing them away into their own private world of shadow and heat.

Under the heavy cover, the atmosphere became dangerously thick, suffocatingly intimate.

Akira's trembling fingers slid to the clasps of Naea's lace, unhooking and stripping away the last remaining barriers until Naea lay completely bare beneath her. Akira's skin flushed even hotter at the sight, her heart hammering wildly against her ribs.

"Akira..." Naea breathed out, her hands clutching Akira's damp shoulders as a sharp, electric shiver ran straight through her spine.

Akira didn't speak. She lowered her head, shifting her possessive lips from Naea's mouth down to the sensitive curve of her jaw, her neck, and down to her exposed collarbone. Her hot breath and damp lips traced every inch of Naea's skin, leaving a trail of fiery kisses, lingering bites, and devouring touches.

Every touch was heavy with absolute devotion, every stroke of her hands exploring Naea's curves with an intense, desperate worship as if trying to imprint Naea's body into her very soul so she would never, ever lose her again.

As the intense, feverish storm between them gradually subsided, the intense sweating finally broke Akira's dangerously high body temperature. The heavy heat that had been burning inside her for hours slowly dissipated, leaving her skin cool, damp, and completely drained of energy.

Her fever had finally broken.

Overwhelmed by absolute physical exhaustion and the profound emotional relief of having Naea back in her arms, Akira gently rolled onto her side next to Naea. She pulled the soft blanket up over their shoulders, turned toward Naea.

Inhaling the soothing, familiar scent of lavender and rain, Akira let out a long, peaceful sigh. The heavy burden on her chest melted away, replaced by a deep, unshakable serenity. Within seconds, her long dark eyelashes fluttered closed, and she drifted into a deep, dreamless sleep safe at last in the only place she called home.

Naea lay still in the quiet darkness, listening to the steady, rhythmic cadence of Akira's breathing against her skin. Reaching up, she gently brushed a damp strand of hair away from Akira's forehead, feeling that the burning heat had indeed completely vanished.

With the fever gone, the room felt stiflingly warm and heavy from their shared heat under the blanket.

Carefully slipping out from under Akira's heavy embrace so as not to wake her, Naea reached over to the nightstand, picked up the remote, and switched the air conditioner back on. A cool, crisp breeze instantly began to circulate through the room, sweeping away the humid, suffocating tension of the night.

Naea looked at the glowing digital clock on the bedside table.

01:00 AM.

Sliding back beneath the blanket, Naea turned on her side to face Akira. In the faint moonlight streaming through the window, Akira looked entirely stripped of her dangerous operative persona just a tired, deeply devoted woman sleeping peacefully by her side.

Naea rested her hand gently over Akira's waist, pulled herself a little closer, and slowly closed her eyes, letting sleep finally claim them both in the quiet sanctuary of the night.

At 5:00 AM, the first pale, cool light of dawn filtered through the sheer curtains of the suite.

Naea's eyelids fluttered open. Before her mind could fully wake, a soft, intimate warmth grounded her to the bed. She felt the light, delicate touch of lips rested against the base of her neck, accompanied by the slow, heavy rise and fall of warm breaths fanning across her skin.

She turned her head slightly, her gaze softening as she took in the sight before her.

Akira was lying right beside her, fast asleep. Without the dark, dangerous shadow of her operative life, her face looked completely peaceful almost vulnerable. The harsh lines of exhaustion and pain had smoothed out, leaving behind a deep, serene calm.

An unexplainable wave of affection welled up in Naea's chest, catching her completely off guard.

Yielding to the quiet impulse, Naea shifted closer, closing the small distance between them. She leaned in gently, bringing her face so near that her nose brushed softly against Akira's.

The moment their noses touched, the slight shift in distance caused Akira's soft lips to press directly against Naea's.

A tiny, subtle movement rippled through Akira. Still lost in the depths of sleep, Akira's lips began to move softly against Naea's, a gentle, instinctive response born purely from habit and subconscious yearning.

Naea's eyes widened slightly in surprise. She stared at Akira's close, flushed face, realizing Akira's eyes were still tightly shut she was doing this completely in her sleep, as if dreaming of her.

A small, amused smile touched Naea's lips, and she made a slight movement to pull back.

Before she could retreat even a fraction of an inch, Akira's arm shot out from under the blanket. Her hand wrapped firmly around Naea's waist, locking her in place and yanking her tight against her chest.

In one fluid, seamless motion, Akira captured Naea's lips in a real, proper kiss , deep, possessive, and warm.

As the kiss deepened, Akira's dark eyelashes fluttered open, her deep charcoal eyes slowly focusing on Naea in the dim morning light.

Akira didn't break the kiss as her eyes opened. In the pale blue light of dawn, her deep charcoal gaze locked onto Naea's with an intoxicating, heavy focus. She pulled Naea closer until every curve of their bare bodies was pressed flush together under the blanket.

When she finally pulled back just a fraction, her lips hovered barely a millimeter away, her hot, rhythmic breath brushing over Naea's mouth.

"You were trying to run away..." Akira rasped out, her voice low, gravelly, and thick with morning sleep.

"I was just moving," Naea whispered back, her chest heaving as her pulse quickened under Akira's heavy stare. "You were kissing in your sleep, Akira."

A slow, dark smirk tugged at the corner of Akira's split, blood-stained lip, making her look dangerously handsome. "Even in my dreams, my body knows where it belongs. I don't need to be awake to crave you, Naea."

Naea felt a sudden, electric shiver run straight down her spine. The raw intensity in Akira's voice devoid of any fever now, completely clear and absolute was overwhelming.

Akira's large, warm hand slid up from Naea's waist, tracing the delicate curve of her spine, her fingers pressing into Naea's bare skin with a possessive, heavy pressure that made Naea gasp.

"Akira..." Naea breathed out, her hands resting against Akira's bare, muscular chest, feeling the steady, powerful thud of her heart. "It's morning... "

"I don't care what time it is," Akira interrupted, her voice dropping into a dangerous, velvet growl as she shifted her body, hovering over Naea once more. The blanket pooled around their hips, exposing the dark, bruised scratches Naea had left on Akira's back the night before.

Akira leaned down, her lips brushing against the sensitive shell of Naea's ear, making Naea's knees weaken under the sheets.

"You marked me last night," Akira murmured, her hot breath sending goosebumps across Naea's bare skin. "And you think I'm just going to let you lie here and pretend like the world outside this bed matters?"

"Akira... you're shameless," Naea gasped, her fingers tightening in Akira's dark, rumpled hair, but instead of pushing her away, she pulled her closer.

"Only for you," Akira whispered against her skin, her hands sliding possessively over Naea's waist, reigniting the heavy, suffocating fire that had burned between them all night.

Before the flame could consume them both again, Naea gently placed her hands against Akira's chest, pushing her back just enough to break the suffocating spell.

"Stop, Akira," Naea whispered, her breath still uneven, though a soft, resolute smile touched her lips.

Akira let out a low, mock groan of defeat, but didn't force her. She allowed Naea to slip out from beneath the covers.

Naea walked into the bathroom to freshen up, washing away the feverish storm of the night. A few minutes later, she stepped out fully dressed and refreshed. Akira, who was sitting at the edge of the bed , tracked Naea's every movement with a warm, steady gaze.

"Where are you going in such a hurry?" Akira asked softly, her voice still rough with morning heavy tone.

Naea walked over to the bed, leaned down, and pressed a lingering, gentle kiss directly onto Akira's forehead.

"To live in a peaceful place... with my family," Naea murmured softly into her hair.

A breathtakingly genuine, beautiful smile spread across Akira's face the kind of smile Naea hadn't seen in months.

Leaving Akira to get ready, Naea headed to Macau's room . Macau was waiting for them. She had known everything from the very beginning, watching the storm between the two women unfold and finally settle into peace.

Without a word of judgment, Macau handed over Naria, who happily clutched her mother's hands. She bid them farewell with genuine warmth and deep respect, ensuring their departure from the estate was quiet and seamless.

Moments later, Akira joined them at the entrance, dressed, composed, and transformed. The dark, ruthless shadow of the agency was gone; in its place stood a woman ready to protect the only world that mattered to her.

Together, the three of them—Naea, Akira, and little Naria arrived at the bustling central train station, ready to leave the scars of the past behind and step into their new life.

As they walked toward the platform, a clear, ringing broadcast suddenly resonated from the station's public announcement speakers, echoing across the massive hall:

"Attention all citizens and travelers. Today, thousands of recovered cancer patients across the world express their deepest gratitude to the legacy of the Sato family. It is through the extraordinary, self-sacrificing bloodline of the Sato family that countless lives have been saved and cured."

"The Japanese government officially announces its desire to honor Naea Sato the last true daughter of the Sato bloodline with the nation's highest commendation, on behalf of the entire country..."

The announcement faded into the ambient noise of the crowd, leaving a heavy, profound stillness around them.

Naea stopped in her tracks. She turned around slowly, her eyes locking onto Akira. The weight of her family's legacy, once a curse that had brought so much blood, tear, and devastation, was finally being recognized by the world as a blessing.

Akira looked back at her. Carrying little Naria, Akira didn't say a word. She simply offered Naea a soft, radiant, and deeply proud smile a silent promise that whatever the world gave or took away, they would face it together as one.
