Chapter 55 - Chapter 55: Flandre's Public Lecture

Flandre Scarlet's lecture this afternoon was incredibly important. Not only had the Celestial Masters Mansion sent representatives, but students from Lungmen United University and exchange students from Leithanien, along with many others interested in the matter, were all keeping a close eye on this afternoon's session.

This was not just recognition for Flandre Scarlet, but also a sign of unconditional trust from Wei Yenwu and the Guard Department.

"Actually, we can help provide proof. From the teaching session just now, it's clear that Little Teacher Flandre's level is definitely not inferior to those teachers in the Celestial Masters Mansion," that Celestial Master spoke sincerely.

"Proof is one thing, but I still have to give this afternoon's lecture, you know. After all, I've prepared for so long, and my partners in the Guard Department are really looking forward to the content of this lecture!"

Flandre expressed that it would be great if the Celestial Masters Mansion could help provide proof, but this afternoon's class wasn't something she intended to use as proof in the first place; it was a genuine gift and course prepared for her colleagues in the Guard Department.

"I see, we were measuring your noble heart with our own narrow minds. We've listened to your previous lecture as well. The content was very interesting and novel. We benefited greatly from hearing such an explanation of the book Originium and Sorcery, so we will also attend this afternoon's class to listen," the other party replied with a smile, looking at Flandre.

"With your level, is listening to a class of that caliber still useful?" Flandre was somewhat puzzled by this. After all, the difficulty of the classes she gave to the Guard Department was very low, completely incomparable to the things they had just exchanged.

"Of course it's useful. As the saying goes, 'when three people walk together, there is always one who can be my teacher.' Besides, the knowledge and content everyone can glean from books is different. Moreover, listening to your class can serve as a review of the material for us; it might even spark new inspiration."

"Alright then, see you in a bit!"

Considering the afternoon class, Flandre also felt it was best not to talk too much and protect her throat. After Flandre left, those Celestial Masters picked up what they had just written and began exchanging experiences with each other again. This made the people nearby sigh with emotion; no wonder these people could become Celestial Masters. This spirit of learning and exploration was something they simply couldn't emulate.

Leaving the training grounds, Flandre was led by Chen Huijie to the office of the Major Crimes Unit. As soon as she entered the door, everyone flocked over to greet her. Flandre responded to each one before sitting down in Chen Huijie's seat.

"Speaking of which, Sister Chen, have there been no cases lately? The Major Crimes Unit hasn't looked for me in a long time."

"Cases for the Major Crimes Unit? There are actually quite a few, but they aren't big problems. They haven't reached the point where we need to use little Flandre," Chen Huijie reached out and rubbed Flandre's head, speaking in a lighthearted tone. Others in the room also chimed in with smiles, saying that although there were many recent cases, none were that troublesome. Besides, Flandre was a trump card of the Guard Department; they wouldn't dream of using her until the critical moment.

Sitting in the office, Flandre looked at Beatrice Swire beside her. "Sister Beatrice, give me those lesson plans. I'll flip through them to see if I missed anything."

Beatrice handed over the bag she had been holding. Flandre picked up the plans, flipped through them from beginning to end, and then nodded. "Phew, no problems. Let's get ready to go!"

The Assembly Hall

The assembly hall was packed with people, much more lively than the previous time. The front was divided into several sections:

Central Area: Wei Yenwu, representatives from the Celestial Masters Mansion.

Side Wings: Teachers and students from Lungmen United University, and visiting students from Leithanien.

Main Body: Operators of the Lungmen Guard Department (L.G.D.).

Flandre nodded to everyone. "So, our content today is mainly a continuation of last time. Of course, I remember assigning quite a bit of homework before the last class, so how about everyone holds up their homework for me to see?"

The L.G.D. Operators held their papers high. With a hook of her finger, the assignments flew into the air amidst exclamations. Flandre then tossed a handful of pens into the air; they landed on the assignments and began to grade the homework automatically. This move made many school teachers in the audience feel genuine envy.

"Alright, let's begin the lecture!"

Throughout Lungmen, outdoor big screens broadcasted the session live. The display of sorcery at the opening alone made many people yearn for it. Ordinary people learned that besides the Infected, people could use casting mediums like Originium Casting Units. As for Flandre not using one—she's a Blood Demon; her Originium is hidden in her blood.

The things she explained next were eye-opening. Whether they were scholars from Leithanien or High-ranking Masters from the Celestial Masters Mansion, not a single person stood up to nitpick. Everyone watched quietly, scribbling furiously or having sudden realizations.

For a full three hours, not a single person moved. When Flandre indicated that the class was over, everyone stood up, and a long-lasting burst of applause erupted. Flandre smiled happily.

"I see everyone seems eager to say something, but after three hours, you must all be tired of listening. So let's take a half-hour break. Then, those who have questions can stay, and those who have other things to do can go and do them first. How does that sound?"

The Seminar After Dark

After the break, Wei Yenwu and most of the L.G.D. left. Wei Yenwu knew the subsequent academic discussion would be far beyond his comprehension, and he wanted to maintain his image. Before leaving, every L.G.D. Operator received their "gift"—their homework with Flandre's incredibly detailed annotations. These notes would help them understand and counter Originium Arts in the field.

The remaining audience consisted of the front-row experts. Half an hour later, the seminar resumed behind closed doors. Chen Huijie and Beatrice recorded the process for "internal use."

The seminar became a polite yet feverish exchange. Flandre answered the most interesting questions while the experts below often answered each other. This continued until midnight. By the time Flandre started yawning, the scholars were deeply satisfied. The gains from this session were enough to digest for over half a year.

The representatives of the Celestial Masters Mansion and the Leithanien academies—the two top institutions for Originium Arts on Terra—were already discussing future mutual academic exchanges.
