Chapter 16 - Sanke demon vs blood demon

Chapter: The Crimson Awakening and the Serpent's SubmissionThe air atop the Cloud-Piercing Peaks was heavy, saturated with a thousand years of accumulated malice. Deep within the cavernous veins of the mountain dwelt a terror of the old world: a Level 7 Low-Stage Snake Demon. For a millennium, it had slumbered, its scales turning into cold iron and its breath into lethal miasma.

Today, that slumber was ended.

Sai stood on a precipice, his eyes locked on the dark abyss of the cave. He didn't wait for a greeting. Gathering his Qi, Sai unleashed a preemptive strike—a beam of concentrated energy that tore through the atmosphere.

Inside the cave, the Serpent's golden vertical pupils snapped open. Sensing the lethal friction of the air, it coiled and surged forward with unnatural fluidity, dodging the blast by mere inches. The mountain groaned as the attack pulverized the stone where the demon had been resting.

The Clash of ElementsThe Snake Demon didn't roar; it hissed, a sound that vibrated through Sai's very marrow. It lunged, its massive body moving like a whip of obsidian. Sai met the charge head-on, weaving his fingers through the air to manifest a counter-attack.

"Fire!" the demon hissed, opening its maw to reveal a furnace of emerald flames. A massive fireball erupted, colliding with Sai's energy blast. The resulting explosion neutralized both attacks, sending a shockwave that leveled the surrounding ancient pines.

Taking advantage of the smoke, Sai's hands moved in a blur. "Shadow Manipulation!" he roared.

Inky tendrils rose from the Serpent's own shadow, wrapping around its massive frame like divine shackles. For a moment, the Level 7 beast froze. It thrashed, its scales grinding against the shadow-chains. Realizing it was trapped, the Serpent exhaled a thick, purple fog.

"Poison gas?" Sai muttered, standing firm. "Useless." Thanks to his previous breakthroughs, Sai's constitution was now immune to such toxins. He stepped through the cloud, ready to deliver the finishing blow.

The Might of the Dharma BodyBut a Level 7 demon was not so easily defeated. The ground began to liquefy. The Serpent's aura flared, expanding until it touched the clouds.

"Dharma Body: Mountain-Crushing Naga!" A spectral, colossal version of the snake materialized, standing as tall as the mountain itself. The sheer pressure (gravity) emitted by this form was suffocating. Sai, who had been confident moments ago, felt his knees buckle. The stone beneath his boots cracked. He struggled to even breathe as the Serpent's tail swiped—a move so fast it blurred reality.

BOOM!

Sai was sent flying, crashing through three separate mountain peaks before burying deep into a cliffside. Blood matted his hair, and his internal organs screamed in protest.

High above, the Snake Demon began to condense its ultimate move. A fireball, not emerald this time but a blinding, solar white, began to grow. It covered the entire sky, stretching across the horizon. From 200 kilometers away, villagers looked up in terror, thinking a second sun had been born. The energy signature was so massive that cultivators 10,000 kilometers away paused, sensing the tectonic shift.

The sun-ball fell.

The explosion turned the sky into a sea of fire. The entire country felt the tremors. To the Snake Demon, it seemed certain: Sai had been erased, his body turned to ash and scattered to the winds.

The Demon Blood TransformationAs the dust settled, a series of mechanical sounds echoed in a void only one person could hear.

Ding!

Notification: Your Disciple has surpassed his mortal limits!

Ding!

New Form Unlocked: Demon Blood Transformation.

From the center of the crater, a crimson pillar of light pierced the heavens. Sai emerged, but he was no longer human. Two obsidian horns protruded from his forehead. His hair had turned a ghostly, ethereal white, contrasting sharply with his skin, which glowed a deep, menacing red. Most terrifying were his four arms, each rippling with veins of pure, concentrated power.

His cultivation level spiked, skipping through the sub-stages until it hit the Level 7 Peak Stage.

The "Blood Demon" Sai looked at the Snake Demon. The predator had become the prey.

With a roar that shook the foundations of the world, Sai reached down, ripped a literal mountain peak from the earth, and hurled it. The Snake Demon fired a beam of energy to shatter the mountain, but before the dust could clear, Sai was already there.

One of his four fists connected with the Serpent's jaw. The impact sent the demon spiraling backward, its massive Dharma Body flickering as it crashed into the range.

The Serpent, desperate, launched another "Solar Fireball." Sai didn't dodge. He sliced his own palm, his blood hardening instantly into a jagged, glowing red blade: The Bloody Sword.

With a single vertical swing, he split the 200-kilometer fireball in half. The flames parted like the sea, and the sword's residual energy sliced through the Serpent's Dharma Body, shattering it like glass. The demon fell, its real body mangled and bleeding.

The Arrival of the MasterSai, consumed by the bloodlust of his new form, hovered over the fallen demon. His eyes were void of emotion, only the hunger for slaughter remained. He raised the Bloody Sword for the execution.

"Stop, my disciple. You must not kill this one."

The voice was calm, yet it cut through Sai's rage like a cold breeze. The Master (MC) appeared out of thin air, standing between the Blood Demon and the dying Snake.

Sai, lost to his transformation, roared and swung at his own Master. The MC didn't move. He didn't even draw a weapon. As the world-ending blade approached, the MC simply revealed his True Form. The aura was so vast it made the previous battle look like a playground scuffle.

Snap!

The MC flicked his fingers.

A shockwave of pure, neutralizing Qi hit Sai. Instantly, the red skin faded, the extra arms dissolved into mist, and the horns retracted. Sai collapsed into his normal form, gasping for air as the madness left his eyes.

"Master... I... I'm sorry," Sai whispered, bowing his head in shame. The MC gave a small, forgiving nod.

Nearby, the Snake Demon watched in absolute horror. It had almost destroyed a country, yet this man—this Master—had suppressed that monstrous power with a simple snap of his fingers.

The MC looked at the Serpent. "You have talent, and my family has a place for a guardian of your stature. Join us, or fade into the dust of this mountain."

Seeing the gap between them—a gap as wide as the heavens—the Snake Demon lowered its head in total submission. "I... I follow the Great One."

The MC turned to Sai, offering a hand. "Let us go. We have much to discuss regarding your new limits." With a wave of his sleeve, the MC gathered Sai and the Serpent, vanishing into the clouds, leaving behind a scarred landscape that would tell the tale of the Blood Demon for generations to come.
