The rain in the Azure Empire did not remove the smell of blood. It only made it stronger.
Lonas was running and breathing heavily. His lungs burned, and his vision became blurry. Behind him, he could hear footsteps getting closer.
Lonas was only Level 2. In this world, power meant everything, and he was weak. But the people chasing him were not ordinary enemies. They were professional assassins sent by the people he trusted most—his own family and his fiancée, the woman he once promised to protect.

Five people stepped out of the darkness. Their black armor reflected the moonlight.
They were elite assassins from the House of Thorne, sent by his fiancée to kill him.
"There's nowhere to run, Young Master," the leader said while taking out his sword. "Your lady sends her greetings. She said you were too soft. She wants someone with bigger ambitions."
Lonas stayed silent.
Something inside him changed.
If he had to die, he would not die begging.
The fight began.
Lonas fought with everything he had. Even though he was only Level 2, anger and betrayal pushed him beyond his limits.
He was injured again and again, but he kept fighting.
One assassin fell.
Then another.
The killers were shocked. They never expected this weak and kind boy to become so fierce.

This was Lonas's home.
