Frenzy and Yuko ran toward the source of the screams.
Yuko's wound still burned. Frenzy had stopped the bleeding with a heated iron, but the pain remained.
Suddenly, someone appeared in front of them.
Black hair.
Vivid pink eyes glowing in the darkness.
A wide, unsettling smile stretched across their face.
A laugh echoed.
— New toys?
— My birthday isn't even close yet.
— Thanks, Azure.
They walked forward without sparing even a glance at the human head lying on the ground.
Their foot came down.
Bone and flesh shattered under the pressure.
Without hesitation, Frenzy swung his arm.
An invisible barrier sliced through the air toward the stranger.
But the stranger…
As if they had already known, simply stepped aside.
Yuko's gaze was drawn to their eyes.
Those vivid pink eyes were glowing.
Even more terrifying than Rasona's.
Peeper licked the blood covering their hand and smiled.
— My name is Peeper.
— And what about yours, little toys?
Frenzy's expression didn't change.
— I'm Frenzy.
— And this is Yuko.
Peeper burst into laughter.
— Yuko?
— What kind of name is that?
— Sounds like something an old fool on the brink of death would have.
Yuko clenched his jaw.
He swallowed his anger and forced a smile.
— And what about your name?
— Sounds pretty made-up to me.
Peeper's smile vanished instantly.
They looked at Yuko with the gaze of a bloodthirsty killer.
Then their glowing pink eyes shifted to Frenzy.
They pointed at Yuko.
— I'll kill that brat first.
Yuko's hands trembled.
He swallowed hard.
A nervous laugh escaped him as he tried to hide his fear.
Frenzy stepped in front of Yuko.
His voice was calm.
— Yuko.
— Leave this to me.
— Go and save Rasona-senpai.
— Don't worry about me… I won't die that easily.
— Now go.
Yuko's eyes filled with tears.
Just as he was about to run—
Peeper appeared between them in an instant.
That disturbing smile returned.
— No.
— No one goes anywhere unless I say so.
Every instinct in Yuko screamed.
Fight.
Run.
Protect yourself.
But fear locked his body in place.
Then—
A sound like flesh being torn apart echoed.
Yuko turned.
Peeper's hand had carved a massive hole straight through Frenzy's abdomen.
Frenzy let out a quiet sigh, as if this were nothing new.
Then he kicked.
Peeper giggled, flipping backward to evade the attack.
— Come on.
— Crawl for me.
Peeper dipped their fingers into Frenzy's blood.
They tasted it.
Their face twisted slightly.
— Low quality…
— But it'll do for now.
Their eyes turned an even deeper shade of pink.
Yuko grabbed the stump where his arm had been severed.
The pain gave him what he needed.
Resolve.
Without looking back, he ran toward the screams.
Peeper noticed.
They looked at Yuko and laughed.
— What's wrong?
— Got scared, sweetheart?
Just as Peeper moved to chase him—
BAM.
They slammed into an invisible wall.
Peeper looked up.
At Frenzy.
Frenzy was holding the hole in his abdomen with one hand.
With the other, he pointed at Peeper and smiled.
— Where are you going, beauty?
— Weren't you going to kill me?
Peeper walked toward him calmly.
They reached out and took Frenzy's free hand.
Then gently brought it to their lips.
A kiss.
— Oh my…
— So eager, huh?
When Peeper turned back—
Yuko was already gone.
Peeper let out a soft sigh.
— Azure won't like this at all…
Then they sat down on Frenzy's lap, whose consciousness was barely holding on.
They smiled at him.
The last thing Frenzy heard…
Was laughter cold enough to freeze blood.
