Chapter 11 - Chapter 10. Brotherhood

Staring at those words Zhao Yuan realised what had happened to the disappearing oranges before she tapped on the upgrade icon.

In front of her a bunch of offers appeared showing her types of storages and their cost.

Staring at the massive numbers written below she was shocked.

Looking up at the top of the screen where her meagre possessions were displayed, Zhao Yuan sighed before she exited the upgrade section.

After a single success she was more confident as she tracked down the potatoes and also picked them up until the storage was also full.

Zhao Yuan seemed hesitant as she looked around the numerous aisles as if thinking about something before she resolutely exited the warehouse.

Back in the restaurant she checked both shoots and was happy to see them filled up before she walked to the counter.

Staring at the screen for a few minutes, Zhao Yuan tapped to continue when a different message suddenly popped up in front of her.

"Inadequate ingredients stocked."

Staring at the sentence she did not react and even seemed too calm as she tapped away at the screen before appearing in the massive warehouse a few seconds later.

Her eyes only roved around the signs for a few minutes before she walked towards the condiments aisle.

After selling fries the next logical step was to add some condiments to it before thinking of maybe selling something else.

As she walked her eyes were restless and looked around hoping to spot anything suspicious.

That was how she was able to see it, although it was a bit far off from her she noticed the cloudy items on one of the shelves.

While everything else was translucent and unclear the glowing cloudy items drew her attention.

Prompting her to ignore the close by condiment section and to walk up to the shelves.

From the shapes and colours this section seemed to carry wheat based products.

Staring at the slightly revealed bun shape she couldn't hold back as she reached her hand and touched the semi solid package.

The message this time was different as this item was not locked.

"To acquire visit the map."

A small map icon lay below the sentence making it easier for her as she tapped the icon before a familiar dizzying sensation engulfed her.

After feeling a bit more settled Zhao Yuan curiously looked around the endless green field around her in confusion.

She had almost gone in a full circle in place when she finally saw it.

A glowing green square on the ground a few steps away.

As an avid player she did not dally before walking up to the square and stood within it.

Everything felt surreal as she watched things of various sizes appear from a distance.

Looking at them fly towards her she tried not to move while she watched a massive fenced wheat field appear out of thin air.

Staring at the fields teaming with fully grown wheat she again did not wait for instruction before walking towards the field.

Another green square appeared near the field as she walked around touching the plants that slowly harvested themselves before stacking themselves up on her back.

Feeling their heavy weight press down on her she quickly walked to the new green square and let them unload themselves before she walked back to the field.

As Zhao Yuan was busy harvesting wheat in the sun lit massive fields the sun was setting back in the outside world.

Everyone was tense in the abandoned building with every member of the team quietly sitting in different corners of the room.

Ever since they had climbed down to their preferred lower level.

Gao Shen's resolute words felt like powerful echoes as they constantly rang in everyone's minds.

Life or death, companionship or solitude and even risk or safety.

Were the contrasting things they had to choose between, it was a decision that felt heavier than ever with every passing second.

While some hoped for more time to think the sun did not care before it slowly went down and disappeared from view.

When the dark and eery cold wind blew in the room it made the already quiet room even more tense as no one was willing to talk first.

After a few minutes of this Gao Shen could not take it any longer before he asked the question they were all dreading.

"Have you all made up your minds?"

His calm voice was powerful when it rang in all their ears and was bound to ring for a bit longer if Ren Aiguo did not speak up.

"I will go to the new shelter."

The boy's words worked like a catalyst drawing out memories from the Gao brothers.

Gao Shen had learned that he was different from a young age.

When his younger brother Gao Haiming was brought back home by his mother.

The already small apartment seemed to become even smaller as the new baby things slowly appeared in the house.

Everything seemed to be better because they got to love the new little member of their family.

Their love grew even more and family life slowly got better with a new TV taking its place in the living room.

Other children in the neighborhood even started to visit Gao Shen's house just to watch their TV.

Gao Shen was happy to get many friends and was even slowly starting to enjoy his new found fame when one night his father announced that they were moving.

Looking around the familiar small apartment he was saddened wondering how the new place would look.

So when they moved a few days later he was excited by the bigger apartment that stood before him.

It even looked brighter with massive windows that lit up the entire space.

Everything in this new place was new, the furniture, electronics and even friends.

But this time none of them were fascinated by his TV because they all had one in their places.

Instead they held him at an arm's length because they were not used to the new boy who suddenly showed up.

Feeling frustrated Gao Shen decided to play with them more often so they could slowly warm up to him.

But nothing of the sort happened because then Gao Haiming had gotten older and was no longer just lying on the bed.

He would now crawl around and even cause mischief.

His studying mother could not handle all his antics and immediately asked him to start watching his brother.

Knowing just how busy his mother was, Gao Shen did not complain and spent most of his time taking care of the active little Gao Haiming.

Seeing him do so well more responsibilities were added on to him.
