Chapter 1 - Feminism.

I tell my own story , I am a 17 years old girl now . I belong to a small village from jharkhand in India .

I come from a place where people think that being a girl itself is a flaw." my journey start from My life's journey begins with the lockdown, when I started to understand everything.""From childhood, there were many restrictions placed on me at home—don't do this, don't do that, don't go here, don't go there. And why wouldn't there be? The people in our society were like that. Girls were looked at with wrong intentions. To protect the family's honor, restrictions were imposed on girls. No one tried to change people's mindset, no one tried to change their perspective. Instead, girls were taught to shrink themselves, to stay within boundaries. Why? Because they were told they carried the family's honor, and it must not be 'lost'."People thought that if they didn't let girls step outside the house, no one would have anything to say. The mindset was that if the first child was a boy, there was no need for more children—but if it was a girl, they should keep having children until a boy was born. Why? Because a girl was not seen as the one who would carry the family legacy; that role was believed to belong only to boys."In our village, people believe that if a girl is born, she should just be raised a little, burdened with household work while she's still a child, and once she grows up, married off—without ever being given a chance to learn or grow."..

In our village, all girls were married off in the same way—and in fact, it still happens like this even today. The only change is in age: earlier it used to happen before 18, now it happens after 18."
