[The Berserker Alliance has been wiped out!]
The player base at the mountain was completely stunned upon hearing this news. Their bitter rivals were suddenly gone, just like that.
No one expected this suddenly appearing elite squad to be so devastating in their assault. However, their own trial was soon to arrive at their doorstep.
Having just finished a major war, the players of the Alliance now faced the final decisive battle. There were only three days left until the competition ended.
An army of dinosaurs surrounded them once again. Max-level second-generation creatures were lined up in neat formations, and their attributes were so terrifyingly high to a point where it defied common sense. This left the Alliance players in a collective state of shock.
"It's impossible! Those levels are simply not achievable through normal taming. Where did they come from?!"
'How the hell are we supposed to fight this?' Everyone thought with a sense of despair creeping in.
The main issue was that to deal with the Berserker Alliance earlier, the base's resources had already been mostly depleted. Nearly half of their main battle dinosaurs died in that battle.
Now, they were barely managing to patch things together for defense.
The Alliance members quickly gathered at the mountain peak command point with their expressions heavy and serious. Rowan looked at the groups of dinosaurs gathering at the foot of the mountain, and his tone was steady but carried an undeniable weight.
"The situation is worse than expected. Nearly half of our main battle dinosaurs are dead, only thirty percent of our artillery ammunition remains, and the combat power we can mobilize is less than fifty percent of our past strength. Now our only advantage is this fortress with its terrain, and the main structures that haven't been destroyed yet."
He knew about the breeding of dinosaurs. It was just that there hadn't been a chance to experiment with breeding before entering the competition.
Nautia stood beside her Giganotosaurus as its wounds continued to seep blood, yet it maintained its intimidating posture despite the injuries. "My Giganotosaurus can still fight. With the help of the Daeodons, its health is mostly restored. I'll take it to hold the front line."
She looked up at everyone with her eyes firm and her determination blazing.
Carter leaned against a ballista while analyzing the current situation with tactical precision. "We would undoubtedly lose in a field battle. Now we can only rely on the terrain of the mountain to our advantage."
"The mountain pass is narrow, so the opponent's max-level dinosaur groups can't deploy their full formation. They can only charge in one by one. I propose we wear them down with our turrets and ballistae, and play the long game.
"I'll take a few people to guard the steep side slope. We left traps there when dealing with the Berserker Alliance, and we can reinforce them further."
Lake gripped the compound bow in his hand with determination igniting in his eyes.
Super Nanny spoke with a firm tone that brooked no argument. "I'll lead the Daeodons to roam behind the defensive line to treat the injured dinosaurs while using the Yutyrannus to buff the front line with its roar."
Clara had also shed her naivety by now after witnessing all this brutality, and she was cheering everyone on enthusiastically.
After some discussion, the group settled on their final battle plan through a consensus.
"We are in a desperate situation now, but we are by no means without the power to fight back! The fortress of this mountain is our foundation, and behind us are comrades fighting side by side. There are only three days left in the competition, and we will surely win!"
"Defend this base to the death!"
"Never retreat!"
Rousing slogans echoed across the mountain peak as the sense of despair that had permeated the crowd gradually dissipated. It was replaced by the determination of those who have burned their bridges and had no path but forward.
Players took their positions and moved quickly into their respective positions. The sounds of repairs, clanging metal, and the low growls of dinosaurs intertwined and coalesced into a stubborn force of resistance in the face of desperation.
At the foot of the mountain, the max-level dinosaur groups of the elite squad were already poised and ready for battle.
As the horn sounded across the battlefield, the final battle began!
The captain of the elite squad waved his hand, and dozens of max-level second-generation dinosaurs were the first to roar and charge forward. Their dark silhouettes pounced toward the mountain pass in organized waves.
The very front row was actually comprised of tanky Mammoths built for absorbing most of the damage. Their nearly maxed-out attributes made them significantly stronger than others of their kind.
Right behind them followed the Tyrannosaurus Rexes in tight formation.
The Yutyrannus, following closely behind, let out ear-piercing, intimidating roars that instantly buffed the front line, and the Mammoths likewise let out war cries.
"Fire!" At Rowan's command, the remaining cannons and auto-turrets at the pass spat fire simultaneously. Red-hot ammunition poured down like a rainstorm and slammed into the Mammoths charging at the very front.
But the expected heavy damage did not occur as planned. The high-HP Mammoths were specifically meant to soak up the turret fire and shield the attackers.
Immediately after, the Tyrannosaurus Rexes used the cover to charge forward as well through the gap.
Nautia, meanwhile, controlled the Giganotosaurus to meet them head-on.
The Giganotosaurus took heavy strides and collided violently with a level 407 Tyrannosaurus Rex with the momentum of thunder. The Giganotosaurus roared and opened its massive jaws, then bit down hard on the opponent's neck with crushing force.
The Tyrannosaurus Rex used its thick foreclaws to frantically strike the Giganotosaurus's torso in retaliation. Wounds split open again, and blood slid down its scales in rivulets.
Super Nanny immediately directed the Daeodons to rush to the Giganotosaurus's side for healing. A pale green healing light descended and slowly soothed the Giganotosaurus's injuries.
Lake controlled the Yutyrannus to let out a buffing roar that provided a buff for the Giganotosaurus and the other dinosaurs in range.
On the steep slopes on both sides of the pass, Carter was leading a squad to operate the turrets while firing at the dinosaurs with his godly aim.
"Die for me!" he shouted while firing.
For a moment, the situation fell into a temporary stalemate between the two forces.
But soon, a dark curtain appeared in the sky that blocked out the sun. A player riding a Griffin led a large swarm of aerial cannon fodder and surged directly upward toward the defenders.
The ground turrets began to tilt their firepower frantically toward the sky.
The Alliance's aerial forces also rose to meet them in combat.
Suddenly, that Griffin rider took advantage of the cover from the flock of birds to dive straight down through the chaos. His target was actually the people controlling the turrets on the ground.
With one dive, the formation of a large number of players was instantly disrupted and scattered.
It wasn't over yet. His goal was clearly more than just disruption.
He continued his dive with deadly intent. Rowan watched as the opponent directly snatched Carter in the Griffin's talons and flew toward the horizon. The attack was too fast for any support to reach him in time.
"Damn it! Carter!" Rowan shouted desperately.
Carter hadn't expected that the opponent's target would be himself specifically. He didn't even have time to react before being carried into the air by that powerful grip.
Immediately after, a scream echoed through the sky that reached the entire battlefield!
[Carter, Deceased!]
Rowan was instantly enraged by the loss of his friend.
"You bastard!"
He furiously rushed forward to operate the turret and attack the opponent in revenge, but unfortunately, the rider had already flown out of range.
Something went wrong at the defensive turrets, and the battlefield at the foot of the mountain was also affected by the disruption. By this time, the Giganotosaurus holding the front line was already covered in wounds after killing several Tyrannosaurus Rexes.
The healing from the Daeodons behind it clearly couldn't keep up anymore with the damage it was taking. After fighting for a while longer with stubborn determination, it finally let out a long howl toward the sky in unwilling defiance. Then its massive body finally collapsed to the ground with a huge tremor.
Those still resisting felt as if the sky had fallen in an instant with despair.
A top-tier combatant was gone.
The situation had reached a critical moment.
An excited look appeared in the eyes of the leader, who was still commanding the attack. "Everyone, full-scale attack! Break through now!"
The defending players at the Footprint Mountain camp felt as if they had been dropped into an ice cellar. Nautia was also helpless after the Giganotosaurus died, and she could only use her agile movements to retreat quickly to safety.
The gap was temporarily filled by other carnivores, but unfortunately, they were stretched thin against the overwhelming force.
Just when all seemed hopeless and defeat inevitable, a sudden disturbance came from the distant Volcanic Area.
"What's going on?" someone shouted in confusion.
Everyone's gaze was instantly drawn there toward the unexpected phenomenon.
From the direction of the Tek Cave in the Volcanic Area, a pillar of light shot up into the sky!
