Even in a place as harsh as new Orlando has some beauty michael says staring out from the top of what used to be known as the I-4 eyesore. From his viewpoint he can see all of new floridas southern coast line. A result of the early stages of the mana evolution. At the time he was just a child of three years but his aunt had told him about the great tragedy that caused all of southern Florida and most of central Florida to fall into the sea. Many died that day the result of the first dungeon break including his parents who were among the first activated and had volunteered to fight the monsters escaping. They held the line along with other activated to ensure non-activated civilians had the chance to flee. In the end the dungeons final boss had appeared releasing a seismic attack that shattered the lands causing most of Florida to fall into the sea. Micheal stops his reflections on the past now instead choosing to go over the events of the last week. His meager social status shattered, his aunt the only who has been there for him since his parents died killed in a freak accident, his girlfriend of seven years who he had just gotten an engagement ring for too busy on his former best friends dick to even acknowledge the fact that she had been caught. Everything that mattered to him gone in the space of a week. He creeps closer to the edge, the pain propelling him forward as he begins pondering his options for the future. As a zero with no wealthy backing. it went without saying his chances were bleak. Of course there was special circumstances but those were rare occurrences that didn't happen to people like Michael cargin. He had just made the decision to not jump when he phone started ringing a sweet but sharp sound in the quiet of the rooftop. Looking at his phone he saw a name he didn't expect. Sierra ,his ex, the same one who hadn't called texted or even answered the door for the past 4 days. He answers the phone with a hello. "Hey honey where are you?", Sierra asks. Michael laughs before replying, " why should you care? You were too busy on Matt's dick last time I saw you to even notice me." There was a noticeable pause before Sierra responded, "you are caught up on that, it was just a bit of fun." Michael sighs before saying, yeah it's been real fun losing my aunt then having my social status torn to shreds then having to find out the girl I was about to propose to is a cheating slut." The stunned silence seems to last forever but only lasted maybe two minutes. Sierra voice shaking like a leaf in wind, "please come home we can talk thru this." The audacity of this woman Michael thinks starting to pace around the rooftop. He responds saying, "why would I do that? You have already shown me that I can't trust you. Hell the most important person in my life died and instead of being there for me, I found you riding Matt. How could I ever let that go." At this point Michael's anger has clouded his vision. His pacing bringing him closer and closer to the edge. It took Sierra a minute to reply as she contemplated her answer, " I can't take back what has happened in the past but your readiness for commitment to me is honestly the wake up call I needed so please come home." "Oh so Matt finally got tired of my sloppy seconds." Michael says malice dripping from every word. "It wasn't like that", Sierra whimpers Michael's words hitting her like a bat to the gut. "How is it not like that I saw you" Michael practically screams unaware of how close he is getting to the edge. Sierra is audibly crying as she says, "please I promise I love you don't the last 7 years mean anything to you?" Michael scoffs as he says, " it obviously didn't mean that much to you but if you want to drag this out I'm at the eyesore." Sierra starts to ask why he is there as Michael takes one last step. Her question is met with an oh shit and the sound of air rushing by before the phone call drops.
