Zamasu's immortality proved to be an incredibly troublesome obstacle. To make matters worse, Goku Black's raw power far exceeded that of both Son Goku and Vegeta. In a direct two-on-two confrontation, the Saiyan duo found themselves completely outmatched by the combined might of Goku Black and Zamasu.
It was at this critical juncture that Trunks arrived to reinforce the front lines. He moved to hold off Zamasu, allowing Son Goku and Vegeta to team up and focus their efforts entirely on Goku Black.
While Zamasu was technically no match for Trunks in terms of combat skill, his immortality made it impossible for the young hybrid to actually defeat him. Meanwhile, even with their combined strength, Son Goku and Vegeta could barely contend with the overwhelming pressure exerted by Goku Black.
The Saiyans realized that continuing the fight in this manner was a dead end. Zamasu was the primary issue; as long as he remained immortal, even a victory over Goku Black would leave them with no way to truly end the threat. They desperately needed a method to neutralize a god who could not die.
Deciding to regroup, Son Goku and his companions disengaged from the battlefield and retreated to the past once more. Upon hearing the dire report from the future, Krillin, Piccolo, and the others gathered to brainstorm a solution. It was Piccolo who finally proposed the perfect plan: the Mafuba.
Since Zamasu could not be killed, he would have to be sealed away forever. Piccolo was naturally the one to suggest this, being intimately familiar with the Demon Seal's history.
Son Goku immediately approved of the plan and spent an entire night tirelessly mastering the Mafuba technique under the guidance of Master Roshi. With the sealing technique ready, Son Goku and Vegeta returned to the future to settle the score.
During the rematch, Son Goku successfully executed the Mafuba, swirling Zamasu into a vortex and trapping him inside a rice cooker.
However, a disastrous oversight occurred: Son Goku had forgotten the enchanted sealing tag! Without the charm to lock the seal, Zamasu managed to burst out of the cooker, free once again.
This narrow escape left Zamasu feeling deeply unsettled. Shaken by the realization that he could be imprisoned for eternity despite his immortality, he decided he would no longer play games with the mortals.
To ensure his absolute dominance and prevent any further sealing attempts, Goku Black and Zamasu each removed a Potara earring from their ears. In an instant, two pillars of blinding light erupted from their bodies and merged into a single, terrifying silhouette. Goku Black and Zamasu vanished, replaced by a completely new entity: Fused Zamasu.
This new form possessed power far greater than Goku Black's, bolstered by the undying nature of Zamasu. He had become the ultimate adversary. However, this fusion introduced a fatal flaw.
While the original Zamasu was completely immortal, Goku Black was a mortal inhabitant of a Saiyan body. By fusing, Zamasu's immortality became unbalanced and "missing a piece," meaning he could now potentially be killed.
As the narrator's voice explained these mechanics, the video screen shifted to show a dramatic scene of Trunks wielding his sword against the now-mutated Fused Zamasu.
The villain had undergone a hideous transformation; his right side had melted into a viscous, purple liquid—a physical manifestation of his conflicting mortal and immortal halves. The narrator noted that beyond standard Super Saiyan forms, two special transformations had appeared.
The first was Vegeta's berserk mode, fueled by the rage of seeing Bulma struck by Beerus. The second was this unique state achieved by Trunks. Both father and son had reached heights beyond the traditional path, which was truly impressive.
In the footage, the surviving humans of the future cheered for Trunks, their hope and belief manifesting as physical beams of light. These streams of energy surged into Trunks, specifically empowering the broken blade in his hand.
The sword transformed from a simple weapon into a towering lightsaber made of pure Ki that reached into the clouds. With a fierce cry, Trunks swung the massive blade down, cutting Fused Zamasu directly in half.
The narrator suggested that while this form had no official name, it could be called "Daigo Mode," noting the striking similarity to when Daigo received the light of humanity to become Glitter Tiga in his final battle against Gatanothor.
Back in the world of GUTS, the crew was stunned by this revelation. They were hearing incredible information about their own future. What was this Gatanothor? What was Glitter Tiga? Daigo himself was the most shaken, wondering if Tiga truly possessed a "Glitter" form he hadn't discovered yet.
He questioned why a video meant to spoil the future of the Dragon Ball world was now revealing the secrets of his own destiny.
He wondered who this Akira truly was—the one releasing these videos and possessing such profound knowledge of the multiverse. While GUTS obsessed over these questions, other viewers were focused on the battle.
Garp noted that Goku Black and Zamasu's fusion had created a terrifyingly strong entity, though he wondered how the fight had progressed so quickly to the final struggle with Trunks.
Sengoku pointed out that, much like the Majin Buu footage, there was clearly a missing segment in the middle that wasn't shown because it didn't focus on transformations.
Kakashi and Naruto were simply glad to see the conclusion of the battle, noting that unlike the Buu video, this one actually showed the moment of the villain's defeat.
As the narrator's voice faded, he concluded by explaining that Super Saiyan Rosé was not Goku's form, but a divine equivalent of Super Saiyan Blue achieved by Zamasu in Goku's body.
He reminded the audience that transformations only amplify base power; as long as the foundation is strong enough, a warrior can overcome even the most advanced transformations. With those final words, the video ended.
