Days passed but still no one could do anything but lie to themselves.
There was no vengeful spirit they told themselves but despite his peoples lies the chief failed to be ignorant.
Hanging upon a wooden board was but a piece of aged leather with the words, kill everything in the burial grounds just outside the village and you shall be rewarded.
Days turned to weeks and yet no one took to the quest.
That was until a hunter arrived.
"You sir are you really taking the quest?" Fjord dropped to his knees, his hands suffering to frostbite.
"I am and trust me whatever has made itself home in the grounds will be dead today, along as the reward is worth my time" the hooded man spoke with certainty as he went into the largest of the buildings.
"Please avenge my daughter" Fjord howled.
"So you are the one who put up the request for aid on the board outside?" the battle worn hunter looked upon a starved man.
"Doesn't look like you have much to offer me" the walking arsenal leaned upon a wooden beam awaiting an answer.
"You are right but despite my village's starvation we do have coin to reward you with and a house for you to stay in while you are here, is that fair?" Troluk's eyes grew even drowsier as the chill of the mountains began to settle within the village.
"Fair enough I won't be here for long anyways" the hunter threw the rickety door open.
"Wait..., who are you" Troluk attempted to shout whilst his voice died away.
"My name is Drake" the hunter left, whilst a smirk appeared upon his scarred face.
"It seems there's another hidden among these people..." Drake looked across the village as if it were tainted.
