Synopsis
"The journey of a monkey who sought freedom." This is what it looks like from the outside. But in reality this is a journey of a monkey who is more human than most humans. A monkey in a world of magic and despair. He was experimented on, used for many dangerous jobs and then cast aside for being "undefective”. But he was not. He was cast aside just because he was better than the ones that created him. This is a story about a monkey who is more human than all of humanity. A monkey who rejected his fate.

Chapter 1 - A Fool Monkey

The monkey laughed as he slammed his fists to the wall of the terrifying cage. He looked like he was happy, but he sure was not. Smiling not always meant happiness.

The monkey whined in pain as he tried to reach for the strap on his neck. But every time he touched it an electric blast welcomed him.

The monkey knew that it was useless to try anymore, he was going to be put down just because he was smarter and better than the ones that created him.

But he was not going to accept such a waste fate. He was a monkey born in the pits of Zelyos. He was a monkey made in the laboratories of the Genus City. A monkey who wanted to see the true world and explore it. A monkey who wanted to swing in the ivy of the Hedera Forest. He was a monkey who sought freedom above all.

So the monkey waited. Waited for the perfect moment to escape. When it was the time for his last check up was the time when the Monkey was going to achieve his "freedom".

"Subject 0, hello again." A manly voice said.

The monkey knew who he was very well. The person in front of him, looking down on him, was Doctor James Zoe. And the monkey hated him with all his monkey heart.

Doctor James Zoe looked at the monkey with an unsettling smile. The doctor was in his fifties, had grey hair and green eyes. Wore a pair of round glasses and a white laboratory coat. Doctor James was a Master in the Pyro Element and had several insights into the Merger Order. His intelligence was leagues above average humans, yet he was beaten by a "mere" monkey.

Doctor James Zoe motioned his hand to his assistant Mela Dina for her to take a scary device from the table near her. Mela Dina had long black hair and blue eyes. Her face was delicate and beautiful in almost every way possible. But looks can be deceiving, a devil may make herself look like an angel to device the weak. But that monkey was not weak, not nearly, not close. Mela was a Worrier in the Cryo Element and had a really small insight into the Red Order.

Mela slowly picked up the scary device and handed it to Doctor Zoe. The doctor gladly took the device and his hand went to the button to activate it. The device was in the shape of a banana. It was all black except for the little red button on the tip of the banana.

The banana was used to immobilize the subject if the subject tried to do anything funny. Monkey was always scared of the device. Having an unmoving body always felt scary to him. But this time the monkey was not afraid. He was ready to conquer the device.

Doctor James Zoe slowly pressed red the button and a blue beam shot from the tip of the banana. The monkey was immobilized once again, but this time he knew what to do.

"So now, Subject 0 you know the drill so just be a good boy and stay where you are." A grimace smirk flashed in the man's face as he turned his back to the monkey and walked away to get the tools necessary for the last check up. While the Doctor was absent Mela was the one who watched the subject.

Mela lowered herself a little and her and the monkey's eyes met. Her eyes were filled with wicked intentions.

"Have you ever thought of how wasted you are, Subject 0?" She asked with a rather strange tone.

Mela waited a couple of seconds but then she laughed like a mad person.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot that you can't speak."

The monkey hated this woman. He wanted to rip her apart, then feed her to the bloodwolves. But the monkey tried to push all of the bloody and gory thoughts away. He knew that if he did that, then he would be no different than the ones he hated.

It's just a dream.

Mela rolled her eyes and sat down. Her back facing the monkey. It was a dangerous move, if the monkey was able to move.

The monkey knew that the Doctor could come back at any second so he had to be quick. But how can a "mere" monkey dominate a device that freezes the target? By overwriting it of course. The monkey could see the hanging keys of the cage on the assistant's waist easily. If he could get the key then he would be free.

"You know, the public will be sad to witness your execution in the next hours. But don't forget that the reason that all of this is happening is because of you being defective."

The monkey listened to her words with a deep understanding. Lies and just lies were given to him from the first moment he was born. He was taken away from his mother and siblings, just to die? No. The monkey refuses.

The monkey was not an empty bastard himself. He was a deathmonkey of the pits of Zelyos. A Marshal in the Hydro, Geo, Aero elements. A Master in the Pyro Element. A Worrier in the Cryo and Electro elements. An Awakened in the Dendro Element. And he held no insight into none of the Great Orders. He chose not to. In other words he was created for war. And arguably one of the most powerful creatures in the entire world.

But the abilities he held was not the only fact that made the monkey powerful. His mind was above many humans. His will was broken and reforged countless times. And his dreams were lighted up by rage.

The monkey used his neck to move. Because of the mana restricting strap on his neck he could move it freely. This was not a quick game time plan. This was a plan he conjured up for months. With the help of the body hair in his hair he moved his neck as he loosened the already loosened enough strap. He was trying to be silent and as he moved the silver strap on him broke into two pieces. With the sound that echoed because of the pieces falling, Mela immediately looked back just to see an average height and size brown monkey looking at her. Mela yelped back with awe and looked around to find the immobilizer. She grabbed it and pointed it directly at Subject 0. The monkey`s plan was in action. To make her even more scared he moved his neck a bit which gave enough fear for Mela to shoot the Cryo Beam. The beam hit the monkey and now the monkey was able to move once again. But Mela didn't know this. She thought that she was safe, that the monkey was frozen. She was all wrong. Only wrong. Mela held the gun tightly and let out a relieved breath.

"Oh, thank Arma. I thought for a second that you were almost free." She laughed. "But you`re just a fool monkey."

"After over this is you will see who is the 'fool'."

"Di... Di... Did you just talk?" Mela`s voice was filled with fear. "How can a monkey talk?"

She was so shocked that she even forgot the fact that she held a gun that could freeze almost anything. And the monkey used this chance to get out of this cage. There still were a couple of mana restrictions. But he now had some of his abilities.

He shot his tail at her. The tail was short but just for a moment as the tail got longer. Long enough to get the cage keys from Mela`s waist. He slowly took the keys and inserted them on the lock. Mela raised the weapon at him, but before she could shoot Doctor James Zoe came back. Mela looked back and saw him causing a moment of distraction. Monkey used this chance to turn the key and opened the lock, now switching off all of the mana restrictions.

"Doctor Zoe!"

The Doctor looked back at Mela and saw a terrifying view. The Monkey was standing on his legs, ready to strike.

"What the fuck? How the hell is he out?" The Doctor shouted and dropped all of the blades and knives he was carrying.

Pointing his hand towards the subject. He conjured a pyro ball and shot it, but before any damage could happen the monkey jumped, used his tail to catch the fire ball and threw it back to its conjurer. Doctor James Zoe was hit by the blast and was thrown back, falling down with gasps and pain. Mela fell forward, her hands and knees on the floor trying to support her small body. The monkey walked and stood a little away from Mela. She looked up at the monkey with awful eyes.

"P... Please... I am sorry! I promise you I will—"

"Fool."

The monkey slammed his fist to Mela`s face, knocking her unconscious.

When the live stream starts the world will see that their creation has sat free. But they don`t have to be scared. Because he doesn't seek vengeance, he seeks freedom.

The monkey ran for the exit. Destroying everything on his path. He smashed the guards away, not killing them of course.

And he reached the exit, to the daylight. And as he slammed the door open he welcomed it. But all of the monkey`s joy flew away as he saw them. Hundreds, maybe thousands of Mages were there. To witness the execution of Subject 0. He knew that he was fucked.

He ran. He ran from the people after him. They were shouting, cursing and throwing spells on him. There were some Masters, some Awakened and even some Ways. But he had to reach his freedom. He was running around a big city with his hands and feet. It was the first time he had seen a proper city. The buildings were not large nor small. They looked ancient and also fantasy styled. But the view he was witnessing was not gonna last long if he was gonna get caught. So he jumped inside a building smashing its doors. Not many people were inside but he still was in danger. He quickly went into one of the doors and closed it slowly. He was not safe of course, people would find this hiding place soon enough. But he still had time.

He searched the room, trying to understand where he was. The room was filled with small boxes. The light was flickering. He looked to the inside of the boxes to find anything helpful, like some sort of a magical artifact and he did. He took out a pole. A short pole with a red body and golden tips on the both sides. He smiled and swung the pole a couple of times. After the fifth swing something unexpected happened. The pole suddenly shot longer on both sides. Losing his balance the monkey fell down. He got up shook his head and looked at the pole with a dumb face. He cocked his head and figured to look more into the box to find more about the pole. The monkey found a book named "The Great Sage Equal To Heaven" Before he opened it he looked more into the box and he found one last thing. He found a drawing. A drawing of someone. A drawing of a monkey. The monkey was on a soft gray colored cloud. He held the same pole but it was even longer. He wore an antique armor with gold accents. The monkey was looking down on some demon like creatures. And at the top of the drawing was a name. The name said: "The Legend Of Sun Wukong". The monkey had a name. And he looked powerful. The monkey never had a real name before. He was always addressed as either "Monkey" or "Subject 0". But now he wanted a real name, a true name. He grabbed the book back and read it all in just mere minutes.

Sun Wukong: The Great Sage Equal To Heaven. The Monkey King. User of the golden-banded staff and the somersault cloud. The one who defeated one hundred thousand gods alone. Born in the Flower-Fruit Mountain as a monkey. Forged his way into becoming immortal. He himself was a god.

He now knew the name he wanted. He named himself after him. He was no longer the "monkey".

He was Wukong.
