[Chapter 105: The Elixir That Can Make People Taller]
With Daniel's conversation and the testimony from Hunter and Amy's classmates, Amy's parents were convinced that the reason their daughter had come to this was due to a ghost haunting her.
"Mr. Cross, are you saying Amy needs fifty years to wake up?" Amy's father, who was over fifty himself, asked with deep worry. His surprisingly thick hair was notable, somewhat rare for his age.
Beside him, Amy's mother had cried until her eyes were red.
Daniel sighed. "Yes. I originally thought that by now, you would've already found an Exorcist to remove the ghost from Amy. But you actually ignored it."
"It's all our fault," Amy's mother choked out. "We didn't believe Hunter, and we let the ghost on Amy deceive us."
Amy's father said in a deep voice, "There's no use dwelling on that now. Mr. Cross, Hunter said you have a way to save Amy, right?"
Daniel shook his head. "I'm not certain yet. I need more time, and the cost will be high."
"The price is not a problem," Amy's father replied. "We just hope that when you're confident, you'll contact us immediately."
"I will."
After thanking Daniel, the couple transferred Amy to the hospital that evening. The procedural matters at school would have to wait.
By the time everything was settled, it was already past four in the morning.
Daniel and Scarlett returned to the hotel, said good night, went back to their respective rooms, and quickly fell asleep.

The next day, Scarlett didn't wake up until after ten o'clock. Daniel, however, was up early.
He hadn't expected that what started as just selling a few Spirit Transformation Elixirs to Scarlett would somehow lead him to make a trip all the way to New York.
But the trip wasn't wasted; he earned at least 1,000 Merit Points. It wasn't much, but it was better than nothing.
Now, his Merit Points had reached 178,700.
Scarlett appeared only at lunchtime. She was clearly wearing makeup, dressed meticulously, with clothes and accessories carefully chosen.
During lunch, Scarlett handed Daniel a check. "Mr. Cross, here's the reward I promised."
Daniel took it and saw it was for exactly $100,000.
He accepted it without ceremony; this was the price they had agreed on before coming to New York.
After putting away the check, Scarlett asked, "Mr. Cross, yesterday you mentioned you'd refined something new that's good for the human body. What is it?"
Daniel replied, "It's something that helps a person's body reach its optimal state. We call it an Elixir."
"Helps the body reach its optimal state?" Scarlett's eyes lit up. "Can it make me taller?"
Scarlett was beautiful with a great figure. Her one drawback was her height.
Officially, she was exactly 5'3". But everyone knew celebrity heights were often exaggerated. In reality, her true barefoot height was less than that. She usually wore high heels so she never seemed short, but height was still her obsession.
Daniel shook his head. "No. This one can't do that. At least not this particular Elixir."
Scarlett immediately caught on. "Are you saying there are other Elixirs that can make people taller?"
Daniel nodded. "Maybe. If I manage to get one, I'll let you know immediately."
"Mr. Cross, you promised, you can't lie to me."
Daniel laughed. "I won't."
"Well then, if this Elixir can't make me taller, can it get rid of the acne on my face?"
Acne?
Daniel was surprised and carefully looked at Scarlett's face.
Scarlett explained, "I don't have acne now, but there are scars left from when I did. I've been covering them with concealer."
Daniel could see some faint traces with a close look. He hadn't expected Scarlett to have this minor flaw.
He recalled that Susan's skin had improved after taking the Spirit Transformation Elixir. He said uncertainly, "Someone who took it did see their skin improve, but I can't guarantee it will erase your acne scars."
"How much is one of these Elixirs?" Scarlett asked.
Daniel answered, "$100,000."
Scarlett hesitated slightly. But what Daniel showed yesterday was truly miraculous. She chose to trust him. "All right. I'll buy one."
Daniel was speechless. It felt like he'd become a salesman.

After lunch, Daniel and Scarlett returned to the hotel, and Daniel went into Scarlett's room.
Under Scarlett's expectant gaze, a crystal Bottle appeared in Daniel's hand.
Pouring out some Spirit Transformation Elixir, he handed it to her.
Scarlett picked it up and examined it. "So this is the Elixir. It's pretty, like a pearl..."
She wanted to ask if it was really safe to eat but thought that might be rude and possibly offend him, so she swallowed the question.
"Should I take it now?" she asked Daniel.
Only after he nodded did she put it into her mouth.
Intending to taste it, she was surprised when the Elixir instantly dissolved into Spiritual Energy, beginning to nourish her body.
Soon, her expression turned to shock, then to joy.
Only after a long moment did the sensation that made her feel as if she could take flight slowly fade.
She rushed to the restroom.
Before long, she called out in surprise, "Seriously, my acne scars are gone."
Scarlett ran out, having wiped off all her makeup. Even without it, her skin was smooth and radiant, with no visible acne scars.
Daniel asked, "Only the acne scars are gone?"
"Of course not," Scarlett said. "I feel more flexible. Walking feels lighter. Have I lost weight?"
Daniel nodded. "Probably. It reduces some excess visceral fat, making you healthier."
"Oh my god, this is incredible," Scarlett said, full of wonder. "Way better than I imagined."
Daniel smiled. "Worth the $100,000?"
Scarlett nodded repeatedly. "Absolutely worth it. I want to buy a few more to give to Hunter and my parents."
"How many do you want? I don't have many left here; I saved some for others."
"Three. Is that okay?"
"That's fine."
Daniel handed her a crystal bottle containing three Spirit Transformation Elixirs.
Scarlett also wrote a check for $400,000 and gave it to Daniel.
"Mr. Cross, if you ever get an Elixir that can make people taller, you have to tell me immediately."
If Scarlett had only half-believed Daniel when he first mentioned a height-increasing Elixir, now she was fully convinced.
Daniel put away the check. "Okay."
Scarlett looked at the small crystal bottle in her hand. "Good thing I recently accepted The Island; otherwise, I couldn't afford these Elixirs."
Her eyes shifted to Daniel. "Mr. Cross, Amanda Seyfried is your girlfriend, right?"
Daniel smiled. "Yes. Why?"
"She competed with me for the female lead in V for Vendetta, but I gave up the role because of The Island."
Daniel nodded. "I know."
Scarlett asked again, "I heard she got the role because you helped her change her luck. Is that true?"
