Xanthe was halfway through updating the client spreadsheet when Margie's cheerful voice rang from her table.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Staniforth."
Her gaze automatically lifted from her computer. She spotted Ian Staniforth rolling towards Andreas' office in his wheelchair and walking beside him was Maia.
A smile brightened her face as she pushed away from her desk and rose to her feet. "Good afternoon, Mr. Staniforth."
Ian gave a short nod in return before continuing toward Andreas's office.
The second he looked away, Xanthe's smile shifted toward her very corporate-looking best friend. Maia winked at that moment, prompting a muffled laugh from her.
A few minutes later, Xanthe entered the office carrying a tray with two steaming cups of coffee. Andreas and Ian were discussing something over several documents spread across Andreas' table while Maia stood nearby holding a tablet, looking miserable.
