Slowly, Maia withdrew her head back into the car, pretending not to see him.
Not today, Satan. Not today.
She was already exhausted as it is. The last thing she needed was dealing with brain-dead people.
She hadn't seen that madman since the last time he showed up at her doorstep. She almost thought she'd gotten rid of him. But unfortunately, she hadn't.
And he'd decided to show up today at her workplace of everywhere he could think of.
"MAIA!"
Maia ignored his call as her eyes travelled back towards the company entrance.
"Ian, where are you?" she whispered aloud, drumming her fingers on the steering wheel. "Please, come out now and save me from this clown."
But no Ian was coming out. And from the rearview mirror, she could see Jacob already approaching the car.
She released a long, profound sigh. "Guess I'll deal with this idiot first."
