Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: True · Fatherly Kindness and Filial Piety

Under the oppressive aura of the Main Wife, Bronya had no choice but to retr— I mean, make a strategic shift.

Plan B: Initiate!

"By the way, Mei-nee, we haven't gathered together in a long time. How about we find a time to hang out next week? Seele is free to come too."

Although Bronya was anxious, she couldn't show it. She maintained her amiable tone.

"Oh? It has indeed been a long time since we saw Seele. What do you think, honey? Should we go?"

Mei rested her soft hand gently on Simon's shoulder. Although they shouldn't be showing public displays of affection in the office, she didn't mind flaunting her status in front of her "good sister."

Go. Why wouldn't we go? Is there even an option not to go?

Simon repeated his mantra: He understood Mei. Her heart wasn't so small that she would forbid him from interacting with other women. Her bond with Kiana, Bronya, and Seele was strong—sisterly solidarity, even. As long as it didn't involve Simon being stolen.

Mei often had girls' tea parties with them. Even when her "good sisters" asked her to bring Simon along—knowing full well they harbored ulterior motives—she would agree happily.

Is this the composure and confidence of the Main Wife?

So, naturally, Simon nodded repeatedly.

"I have no problem. I can go anytime."

"Then next Saturday it is. Everyone should be free then."

Bronya pulled out her phone to contact Kiana and Seele.

"No problem. We'll arrange our work schedule ahead of time. So... shall we go look at the factory now?"

Mei asked with a hint of mischief.

(Angry Bronya Noises)

"Let's forget it. There are too many people. Communicating online works just as well."

Although Bronya loved speed (racing), she was actually a shut-in otaku at heart. Asking her to walk while capturing Simon was fine, but walking just for the sake of walking? Pass. Especially since she knew Mei would definitely drop flashbangs (PDAs) with Simon right in front of her the whole way.

I see now. This Mei-nee is also a troll. She knows Bronya hates walking and brought it up on purpose. The Bronya is getting angry.

"Then shall we start working now?"

Seeing the atmosphere getting tense, Simon hurriedly steered them back to business.

"I have no objections."

Seeing her objective was unattainable, Bronya focused on work. This time, she really was here to discuss business on behalf of Anti-Entropy.

"That settles it then. The deposit should be transferred to Anti-Entropy's account by tomorrow."

Everyone present was a business expert. Without wasting much time, they concluded the exchange and signed the contract.

"Safe travels, Bronya~"

Mei saw Bronya to the company entrance, bidding farewell with a smile.

"It's about time. Should we go see Father-in-law?"

Simon came up behind Mei, wrapping his arm around her waist.

"We're still at the company..." Mei's cheeks flushed slightly. She offered symbolic resistance, but finding it hard to break free, she let him be.

Earlier, she didn't care about people watching when she was flashing her status at her sister. Now she's blushing? Sigh. Women.

"So what if we're at the company? The company rules don't forbid public displays of affection after hours. If anyone shows off their love in front of me, I'd give them a red envelope of wedding money."

Simon pulled Mei into his father-in-law's private car and forcibly pulled her in for a kiss.

Mwah.

"Pervert!"

Mei slapped Simon's thigh hard.

Heh. That little force? It felt like a mosquito bite.

Having experienced death several times, Simon paid no mind to this minor pain. Instead, he hugged Mei tightly and kissed her vigorously.

The driver in the front seat listened to the son-in-law bullying the Young Miss without a care, simply sighing with emotion.

Young people sure have energy!

Raiden Ancestral Home.

"Hum hum hum~"

Ryoma Raiden had been living very comfortably lately.

For a middle-aged man like him, having his daughter marry a good man and seeing the company run well meant there was nothing left to strive for after struggling for half his life.

Retiring at his peak like this—practicing swordsmanship daily, humming Far East tunes while tending the garden, drinking a little wine—there was no happier life. The only regret was that his wife had left too early to see their daughter as she was now.

But his daughter and son-in-law were thoughtful. They visited him every few days, eliminating even the last bit of loneliness.

"Master, the Young Miss and the Son-in-law are here to see you."

The servant's message brought joy to Ryoma's brows.

Oh my, look at that. Just thinking about them and here they are. They didn't even call ahead.

He put down his gardening shears, shook the dust off his hands, and instructed:

"Have them wait in the living room. I'll go change."

He couldn't see the children looking dirty. He still had his dignity to maintain.

Soon, Ryoma changed into casual clothes and entered the living room. Seeing the two children sticking together sweetly, he cleared his throat with a smile to remind them.

"Ahem."

Hearing her father, Mei gently pushed Simon away. Simon didn't dare act presumptuously in front of his father-in-law, so he let go and sat upright.

"Ming, Mei. How is life recently? Any difficulties?"

Ryoma saw they were both a bit tense, so he decided to start with daily pleasantries.

"We're the same as always. No changes. Father doesn't need to worry."

Mei answered with a smile.

"Mm, that is good. And how is the company doing?"

Ryoma looked at Simon.

"The company is in good condition. We recently took on large orders from the World Serpent Group and Anti-Entropy..."

Simon took out the prepared report and handed it to Ryoma, explaining with charts and data.

They came to see Ryoma not just to care for the empty-nest elderly, but also to report to the Chairman as his successors.

After listening to Simon's report, Ryoma nodded with satisfaction.

"Mm, well done, Ming. The cash flow is healthy. You didn't blindly expand capacity just because of big projects, but you're steadily improving. for a large company, nothing is more important than stability. Ming, you can already stand on your own."

"Take your time chatting. I'll go check the kitchen to see if they need help."

Seeing them talk shop, and knowing Simon had questions for her father later, Mei naturally excused herself to the kitchen.

"Father-in-law, you're not an outsider, so I'll ask directly. I know that while ME Corp is mostly owned by you, it's actually a subsidiary of Anti-Entropy. However... I want to know if there are any deeper secrets behind this relationship?"

"That sort of thing..."

Ryoma stroked his chin, pondering his son-in-law's question carefully. But even he, the Chairman of ME Corp, couldn't think of any other secret between him and Anti-Entropy.
