Sky
"You hung up on me," Dan said, voice all calm like that ever worked on me. "What's wrong? You sound pissed."
"I'm fine," I said, voice flat. "Tux guy's slow, that's all. Stop calling, I'll be home when I'm home." Hung up again. Christina snorted so loud I thought she'd choke on a chip.
"Damn, Sky, you gonna marry him or murder him first?"
"Both if he doesn't quit," I muttered, but my stomach twisted anyway because part of me knew I was being an asshole and the other part didn't care.
The event ended. Hale came out, tall, slick hair, tux already on because of course he did, smiling at some omega aide like he hadn't just ruined lives. We moved fast. Jay pulled the car around, I hopped out with the clipboard I'd grabbed from the glovebox, Christina right behind me looking all serious with the fake earpiece.
