Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: SUGAR MOMMY

Twenty minutes later… after the pep talk.

Inside a carriage sat a man with black hair, dressed in blue clothing that honestly didn't look that great. Beside him was a woman with bunny ears, wearing her pink dress—the same one she would never change, even in the future.

Yep.

Tang San and Xiao Wu.

Sitting across from them was a beautiful corpse.

Her legs were casually propped on the carriage seat while her back leaned against the wooden wall. She was sleeping.

Ever since they found a carriage, she had been asleep the entire time—completely unconcerned about the assassin's caution or the bunny girl's lingering suspicion.

Tang San and Xiao Wu could feel it.

The emptiness.

The void inside her eyes.

When she looked at them once, it felt like they existed.

When she looked away, it felt like they never had.

That was exactly what those eyes conveyed.

No one made a sound inside the carriage.

Tang San stayed on guard, muscles subtly tense, ready to act at any moment if needed.

Xiao Wu, on the other hand, was curious—but wary.

After a long silence, Tang San finally broke it.

"Are you alright?" he asked quietly. "You've been quiet this whole time."

Xiao Wu blinked, then forced a small smile.

"I-I'm fine… I'm just… not used to people," she said softly. "Hehe…"

Yeah.

Like anyone would believe that from a fighting freak.

Tang San didn't push further. He simply nodded.

But inside his mind, a thought lingered.

Maybe we're the same.

Maybe she feels it too.

The dangerous aura of that bitch.

Another hour passed, and finally they reached the entrance of Soutuo City.

The sight before them was lively—crowds moving everywhere, loud chatter filling the air, countless stalls, large houses, vendors shouting, shops lined up one after another… all that noisy, city-type shit.

"Wao… wao… wao…"

The coachman pulled the reins and stopped the ancient carriage near the city entrance.

"G-gentleman… a-and m-my lady… w-we have a-arrived a-at S-Soutuo City," the driver said.

He spoke to the two ordinary-looking youths—and to the one who looked like she absolutely should not be offended.

His eyes shifted toward her.

She was still asleep.

The driver didn't dare wake her up.

Slowly, Lili opened her eyes.

Dark purple irises scanned her surroundings, uninterested as ever. She noticed the ancient driver—that's what she called him in her head. She didn't even need to hear what he was saying; that stiff, forced smile clearly translated to:

Pay up and don't waste my fucking time.

Lili used her 1 percent IQ.

Wait… do I even have money?

No.

Nothing.

She was literally naked when she arrived in this world.

"Hey, Shakky," Lili muttered internally, "do you perhaps have some money I can borrow? I'll pay you back later. I just need to pay this ancient driver… I don't want to be haunted by his ghost in my dreams if he dies. That would be bothersome."

She said it sarcastically.

Then—

Ding—

□ ALLOWANCE

Take care of yourself, my boy. Don't starve.

Here's your monthly allowance.

— By your mommy, Merzaya.

Love you 😘

–10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000.00 GOLD

"…Hmmm."

"I have a sugar mommy," Lili thought.

"No—wait. A sugar goddess."

"How nice of you, Merzzy. And don't think just because you said take care of your body means you're not watching me. I know you're trying some psychological shit on me. That won't work."

"And you're definitely enjoying the show right now."

[Merzaya: ahemm]

Lili looked at the allowance her sugar mommy gave her.

Anyway… thank you for the gift, Mommy.

He said it in his mind.

His face, however, remained completely nonchalant and unbothered.

[Merzaya: 🥰].

Lili looked at the ancient driver.

Her voice was deep and hoarse as she spoke.

"How much?"

The man stiffened immediately.

"A-ah… n-no need, m-my lady… i-it's f-free f-for y-you," he stammered.

He was genuinely terrified. Hearing her voice felt like talking to a dead person that suddenly decided to answer back.

Outside the carriage, Tang San and Xiao Wu—who had already paid five silver coins—were still standing there, waiting to say goodbye to the pretty corpse who had ridden with them.

They froze.

"…Free?"

Tang San's mind exploded.

Fuck this coachman.

You made us pay, but it's free for her?!

That was exactly what he was thinking.

Xiao Wu, however, stayed silent. She simply watched.

"No need to be polite," Lili said, her hoarse voice calm and flat.

An object suddenly materialized in front of her.

A gold coin.

It dropped neatly into her palm. Without hesitation, Lili flicked the coin toward the coachman.

The man caught it.

He stared at the gold coin in his hand, completely dumbfounded.

A gold coin… for a ride?

I hit the jackpot.

"T-thank y-you… v-very m-much," he said hurriedly, bowing slightly.

Lili slowly stood up and moved toward the carriage door. She stepped out.

Her eyes lifted, taking in the massive gates, the bustling streets, the noise, the movement.

"So this is a city…" Lili muttered.

"…ancient shit."
