Chapter 6 - chapter 6The tears of the gods and the secret power of shadows

Behind Zarith's fearsome red eyes lay a heart-wrenching cry. When his past (backstory) resurfaced, a completely different picture emerged—one where he was not a powerful god, but a neglected and frightened child.

Zarith's Tearful Childhood (The Backstory)

The story begins many years ago, when Zarith was just a small child. His only "crime" was his red hair and red eyes. In that ancient Egyptian settlement, the color red was considered ominous, believed to carry the curse of the god Seth.

Neglected Child: As a child, other children ran away in fear at the sight of him. Villagers would call him "cursed" and even throw stones at him.

Separated from His Mother: Zarith would sit alone in a dark corner of the desert, sobbing uncontrollably. He could not understand why his eyes were not black or brown like everyone else's.

Fire and Solitude: Whenever he cried deeply, flames would unintentionally burst from his body. Once, these flames burned down his small hut, and the villagers, convinced he was a demon, abandoned him alone in the desert.

Crying to the sky, Zarith would shout:

"Will I ever be loved? Why was I sent into this world with the curse of red?"

The Curse of Divinity

The child, left alone in the desert, thirsty and in pain, awakened the dormant power of the god Seth within him. He realized that to survive in this world, he must become "fearsome," "mysterious," and enchanting. That very sorrow eventually transformed into power, forging him into what would be known as "The Crimson God." Kael's Childhood: The Exiled Child of Heaven (The Backstory)

Kael was not born in an ordinary palace or village. He was found atop the highest peak of Egypt, where the sky seemed to touch the earth.

A Sacred Curse: From birth, Kael's appearance was angelic. His silvery hair and white eyelashes made everyone see him as a "blessing from the gods." Yet, this blessing became a curse for him.

Kept Away from Human Touch: The villagers confined him to a temple, fearing that if the sacred child was touched or mingled with ordinary people, his divine powers would be ruined. As a result, Kael grew up without love, without the touch of a mother.

Ice-Cold Solitude: The temple was as cold as stone. As a child, Kael would sit by the window watching other children play, tears forming in his eyes. But before his tears could hit the ground, they would freeze. He longed to hold someone's hand, yet his hands were so cold that no one dared to touch him.

The young Kael once asked a priest:

"Why does everyone worship me? Why does no one love me? Will I ever have a normal friend?"

The Duty of a Protector

That intense loneliness made him calm yet unyielding. He realized that he was born not for his own happiness, but to protect others. One day, he left the temple and embraced his divinity, becoming "The White Guardian." When Amunet entered his life, Kael found for the first time someone he wanted to protect not just out of duty, but from the depths of his heart. Amunet's Childhood: Living with Shadows (The Backstory)

Amunet was no ordinary princess. At the time of her birth, no lamps were lit in her room; instead, an otherworldly darkness enveloped everything around her.

A Cursed Blessing: The royal astrologers had recoiled in fear when they touched her forehead. They said that within this child, an ancient Shadow Queen slept. From early childhood, she was kept apart in the deepest, darkest chambers of the palace.

Talking to Shadows: Amunet had no playmates. She grew up speaking to her own shadow. When she laughed, her shadow remained still; when she cried, the shadows on the walls seemed to sigh in response.

The Mystery of Honey-Brown Hair: As a child, her hair was curly and black, considered a symbol of ominous power. But her father, the then-king, used magical herbs to change its color to honey-brown, hiding her true power so that no one could recognize her.

Lonely Yearnings: Little Amunet would hold onto the window grille, staring at the blue sky outside, thinking

"Will I ever be able to step into the light? Or is this darkness my eternal home?"

Awakening of Power

Once, when enemies attacked the palace, young Amunet unknowingly covered the entire palace with her shadow, blinding the invaders. That day, she realized she was no ordinary girl; she was the vessel of a power that no one could control. The Convergence of Three Lives
