Luna gently rubbed Dratini's head, smiling proudly.
"Hehe… Larvitar? Please. My Dratini is definitely stronger."
Then she paused.
"…Okay, maybe Lapras and Aerodactyl are strong too. But we'll deal with them later."
Ren walked over and handed her two boxes.
"These are Dragon-type energy cubes. You should stock up. If your Trapinch evolves later, it'll gain Dragon typing."
He also placed a red-and-gold Poké Ball on the counter.
"And this is the special Poké Ball that comes with rare-tier Pokémon."
Luna's eyes sparkled.
"Yes! I love this ball!"
She hugged the box of energy cubes.
"Give me twenty more boxes. I don't want my Dratini going hungry."
Ren nodded calmly.
"Sure."
Just then, the wind chime at the door rang.
Lucas walked in, dressed sharply as usual. Miya followed behind him.
"You look happy today," Lucas said with a faint smile.
Ren shrugged.
"Sold something big."
Miya noticed Dratini immediately.
"Oh… that's beautiful."
Lucas raised an eyebrow.
"So this is Dratini?"
He pulled out his Pokédex and scanned it.
"…Its stats are impressive."
Luna lifted her chin proudly.
"Of course they are."
Lucy rolled her eyes.
"You just got lucky."
"Jealous," Luna shot back.
Lucas laughed lightly.
"Alright. Since we're all here… battle?"
Luna's eyes lit up instantly.
"Now?"
"Why not?"
Ren gestured toward the backyard.
"Standard 1v1. No switching. Winner is whoever's Pokémon can still battle."

Backyard Arena
Manaphy and Ralts sat off to the side, watching excitedly.
Ren raised his hand.
"Battle start."
Luna stepped forward.
"Dratini, you're up!"
Dratini slid onto the field, body coiling slightly.
Lucas tossed his Poké Ball.
"Larvitar."
White light flashed.
Larvitar landed firmly, staring straight at Dratini.
Lucas smirked slightly.
"I'll go first."
Luna narrowed her eyes.
"Fine."
Lucas pointed forward.
"Larvitar, use Dragon Dance."
Larvitar began moving in a strange, rhythmic pattern. A faint blue aura shimmered around its body. Its power and speed visibly rose.
Lucy stiffened.
"Oh no… that move again."
Luna recognized it too.
During Lucas's last match, two Dragon Dances had completely turned the tide.
She clenche
d her fist.
"Dratini, don't let it stack!"
The atmosphere instantly grew tense.
The first real battle between two rare dragon Pokémon had begun.
