"It's still strange to think that a monster tide will be happening today," Elaine uttered softly as she stared at the people working hard on the barricade.
"If I had known this would happen today, I would have written a letter to Lord Fluffybottom," Elaine added.
Since Lord Fluffybottom was now the new Baron of Lord Harvard's territories, Elaine knew he would have instantly ordered his men to protect everyone in Thornsville.
"It doesn't matter," Ray uttered softly. "It would have taken days for your letter to get to him, and then some more days for his knights to arrive. So, there's no point worrying about something that would have made little difference."
Elaine glanced at Ray.
She knew that he was right, yet she couldn't help but wonder how he was able to remain so calm right now.
After strolling around the village for a while, Elaine could see how troubled and worried everyone was.
Heck, even she was terrified about the monsters coming their way.
