The present Deathslingers closed the book.
"Wow.. so that's the history of it all." Falcon's eyes were wide.
Marie didn't say anything. She looked blankly at a wall.
Naomi held the book in her hand.
Silence.
…
…
"I can't believe. Austeci, so Imaez is a descendant of the First Emperor..?" Marie whispered.
"Monk Artemis…" Naomi looked down.
"I am so happy… you got to leave with your master." Naomi smiled tearfully.
Falcon walked out the room— "I'm gonna go get these two into a hospital, so they can watch over them."
"I'll disguise Imaez." Falcon walked into the living quarters.
Inside of a military dormitory—
knock knock…
The door of the dormitory was gently knocked.
"Damn… who is it?" Adam opened the door.
"Oh.. High Command Aurelian, what can I do for you?"
Aurelian gently smiled—
"May I come in?"
Aurelian and Adam had sat at a table drinking tea.
"So, what's with the visit?" Adam asked.
"Don't try being oblivious. The little stint you had with the Major General.. I wanted to talk to you about it." Aurelian sipped his tea.
"Please stop if you're going to try to lecture me. I don't really care if he's the second most authoritative person in the Empire. What he did was wrong. For the past decades— this empire has been wrong. What happened to the Wind Queen?" Adam posed a question.
"The Wind Queen, huh. I admit, her sudden disappearance, Lord Emperor taking the throne. It's sketchy." Aurelian spoke.
"Not just sketchy— it's proof that this empire has been corrupted. Ever since the First Emperor's disappearance, we've slowly divulged ourselves into wars, battles, conflicts, unnecessary murders. We have been apart of so much evil." Adam slicked his hair back.
Aurelian thought for a moment.
*He's not wrong. All we've done is just murder, geopolitical issues, nothing good since The Wind Queen.*
"Thank you for the tea. And for the thoughts you've given me. I'll see you later, Adam." Aurelian grabbed his coat off a chair and left the room.
*I'll have to look into the history of us. What really are we, Lord Emperor? Who really are you?*
In a carriage—
"Yes, to the hospital please." Falcon handed a handful of copper to the driver.
He put Lloyd and Imaez into the seats as he sat in the middle.
The carriage had driven off, entering the main street of Greenwood.
A store clerk had watched out the window.
Her eyes locking onto a familiar face.
*Imaez…? That face, I can't forget that!*
The store clerk had rushed to the back— grabbing her coat and boots. She bolted out the store.
"Carriage! Carriage!" She waved her hand frantically.
A carriage had stopped in front of her.
"Ma'am-" The driver was interrupted.
"I need you to follow that carriage that was here a moment ago." She handed him a handful of copper. "Now!"
She jumped into the carriage.
The carriage had driven off.
After a few minutes—
"A hospital." The woman wondered.
"Well, we're here." The driver waved his hand, gesturing her to get out.
The woman had walked out and entered the hospital, walking to the receptionist.
"Hello… I'm here to see a family member." The woman spoke.
"What's your name?" The receptionist asked.
"Kera. My name is Kera."
"That'll be 5 copper." The receptionist spoke.
Kera handed 10 copper and walked off.
*Please don't let me be crazy… where is he?* Kera's eyes darted from room to room.
She had bumped into a man.
"Excuse me.." Kera looked back.
"You're fine." Falcon continued walking.
Kera had viewed rooms and windows until—
"It is you…"
Her eyes lit up, but watered down.
Her lips quenched as she opened her mouth.
"Imaez." Kera spoke with her voice breaking.
Inside of a room—
*The weight of it all crushed me.*
*The only person to blame is me.*
*I can't live on, without forgetting I cannot kill the Devil. I am merely a human.*
*And for that, I realize. I am not the person I thought of myself to be.*
*I've failed you— Hyades.*
A man had walked with solemn in his footsteps.
He stood atop of a chair.
Something around his neck.
He kicked the chair.
"kkhh…" His breath soon gave out.
His body after a few moments went limp, no life in his eyes.
A door opened.
A soft yet calm voice let out words.
"How disappointing, Cupiditas"
Lord Emperor had spoken.
