Killian's POV
"Why?" I asked. I could barely ask the question. I kept trying to close the wound on my chest. I couldn't believe it.
"You still ask why? Tell me, what's so great about you? Why were you lucky enough to become an awakener? How am I any worst than you?" He said in a calm voice. in his hand, he was holding a blade. The very same blade he just plunged into my chest.
"You..." that's all I could manage. This was my closest brother. My biological cousin. How could he betray me like this? Had I not done enough for them? Had I not helped them survive this far? If it wasn't for me they would have died a long time ago.
"Cousin, don't blame me. Blame yourself. You know, growing up, I idolized you. You were the best brother in the world. Truly, you were. You always made sure to look out for me. Trust me, this has been the hardest decision I've had to make in my life." he said as tears fell down his eyes.
