The world was centered around the pursuit of resources, by possessing which control and influence could be established. This was a universal law, but humans preferred to build a parallel system in order to live better and give everyone a chance.
Of course, this was nonsense. Although humans are the smartest creatures on Earth, they possess a weakness that belongs to them alone: conspiracy.
Humans can be conspired against easily through reputation, value, morals, and myths. Human society over the past five thousand years, and over the next five thousand years, is pitiful.
Groups of humans discovered these facts and exploited this gap in the human mindset, which eventually led them to conspire for centuries until they completed the system that humans currently live under.
But there is one point.These conspirators die like everyone else.
Although it is almost impossible to defeat an empire that has ruled the world from the shadows for generations, only if you achieve immortality can you defeat them and rewrite history.
Of course, these rulers are also part of—and fierce competitors in—the race toward eternal power.
This is the real world, not a fantasy.
