"That is an excellent question," Monica declares, clapping her hands together. "I think you, Ian, are going to be the person to lead the charge. Your backup is going to be Luna. She is excellent at calculations, and I believe you two together will make a great team."
Ian looks back at Luna, smiling gently. "I do believe that Luna has the intellectual prowess to help us win this. It will be an honor to team up with the shyest woman of the class." Ian put two fingers pointing towards the sky as he winked at his dear comrade.
"How do you feel about that, Luna?" Monica inquired.
"I can team up with Ian. What gun would you like me to use?" Luna looks over at Ian, letting go of a sheepish smile.
"Why not use a rifle. Specifically, the model Masten 7. Go take your sniper rifle and spy out across the plains to see if you can tag any of the enemy teams. Specifically for this training, we'll be using simulation rounds, and as you all know they sting badly."
"How will I mark those with my grenades?" Marcus took his toothpick out of his mouth again. He licked his lips as he looked back to the rest of his team across the room. "I think we should find a route to minimize as much ammo as possible and try to hit them with a paint grenade or two."
"How much ammo are we getting?" Abby inquired.
"They're giving us 100 rounds each. If you get hit three times, you're out."
"What about machine guns? They're on full auto. I mean you get lit up, just like that," Cody states as he put his hand on the table, smiling. Is leadership allowing us to light people up like that, or machine is going to be pretty much suppressive fire?"
"Machine guns are going to have at least 500 rounds each, and we're going to need to find some way to disable them, because that's what would happen in the real world." Monica's eyes glaze over the chalkboard as she drew an arrow and two forts. "The flag is going to be in the middle."
"We only get 100 rounds, so I think that we should use a lot of our ammo more so in close quarters unless Luna is able to snipe someone from afar," Rosemary states as she twirled her pigtails.
"You think that you could hit from that far?" Rebecca says, looking over at Luna.
"If I were to go for a headshot it would be easy, but of course we do want to hit and plan with a simulation round. That would really hurt and could cause some trauma." Pushing her two index fingers together, she twirled down and reached for her goober in her pocket. "If the wind is right. I can shift my shots to the right hitting the enemy machine gunners in the shoulder. They can be out of pocket by the time y'all get there."
"How confident are you in that?" Monica inquired. "If you can do that, capturing the flag is going to be too easy for us."
"I think I can do it," Luna affirmed her eyes glaring at her superior with confidence.
"I trust the kid," Cody says. "We got a genuine sniper in the class, and she's got guts to speak up and use her skill set. Let's go for it!"
"With all of our skill sets I think we have the greater chance at getting the flag," Rebecca says. "We have to find a way to create a route for both teams to get in."
Monica looks at Marcus who was leaning back in his chair. "Marcus, I want you to use your grenade launcher to put out a mist cloud around the flag to disorient the opposing force."
"How many fog grenades do I get? Please say more than two," Marcus smirked, leaning his head to the right.
Monica leered, putting her hand on the chalkboard. "Don't worry, you're going to get 12 fog grenades and three noise grenades. Hopefully with all of that we can create a loud enough noise to throw them off target."
Ian tapped his pencil on the desk, drawing on the paper in front of him. "What if all these plans go to the wayside? We may do everything correctly yet still be completely incorrect and be kicked out as soon as our exam starts. The most crucial thing we need to concentrate on as a backup strategy is that everyone is skilled in hand-to-hand combat and using side arms. When I used to fence in college, you always wanted to begin with your best strike that you thought the opponent would think is your best strike. We need to focus on the reverse psychology of duping the adversary into taking the best path they believe we will take."
"You think we should do a diversion." Rosemary peaked up as her eyes glared into the back of Ian's head. "I think that's a great idea. Let's add, like, run into a frontal dash and maybe have two or three people attack from the side. Like Marcus, he has his grenade launcher. I do think that we're going to be attacking with that heavy grenade launcher from the front. Why don't we put him to the side with Cody, or Abby since she's going to be using a shorter rifle."
"That is an excellent idea," Monica states. "I should do that on the chalkboard. Okay Abby, you're going to go with Marcus and attack from the side. Luna, you're going to scout back after you and Ian scope out with the enemy. It looks like I will bring up the rear with Rosemary. I'll use my binoculars to scope out and send scouts back and forth. Since Rosemary is a medic, we will use her as a scout to transfer information."
