Chapter 22 - Titles and an Alien

Phantom looked to see the machinery fall apart in small explosions and he put an energy shield around all of the humans, heroes and villains alike. Phantom then froze Shego and Drakken's hands and feet together to prevent them from escaping as they were still wanted criminals.

-

"You should know from last time that ice won't hold me." Shego said as she made her hands glow a bright green in the ice around her hands, but the ice didn't break.

-

"I don't think I was here last time. My ice doesn't break so easily." Phantom told Shego with a smirk on his face. "You'll stay frozen until the police come get you two." He said as he lifted the two villains telekinetically and followed Danny, Kim, and Ron outside. Police were already waiting for us outside and Phantom recognized one detective that was called in for the Kelvin Furnace case.

-

The detective seemed to recognize Phantom as well. "Nice to see you again Phantom. I guess you were called in because one of your rogues were here?" Detective Ortez asked the half ghost clone.

-

"Something like that. I work with Kim Possible sometimes and I was called in when a ghost showed up, but they escaped before I could catch them." Phantom told the detective. "The green woman has powers, so if you have another of those collars you gave Kelvin, that would be beneficial." He informed Detective Ortez.

-

"I do. If you haven't already guessed, I am part of a task force that deals with superhuman criminals and are called in when one needs to be arrested." Detective Ortez informed the three heroes. Ron and Kim looked shocked. "Could I have your contact information, so I know what to do if a ghost starts causing trouble?" She asked as she put the collar on Shego and I unfroze the villains hands and feet.

-

"That's a bit complicated right now. I will need to find a way for you to contact me first with my 'bosses' at Fenton Works. I work with them to make sure no ghost or spirit causes too much trouble. It was pure luck that I was already there when Danny called his parents about the ghost that was here." Phantom told the detective, who nodded.

-

"That's fine. I'll just have to call Fenton Works about ghosts and spirits that I encounter until you have a direct form of contact." Detective Ortez said to the half ghost clone.

-

"If you happen to do any research on them, they used to be ectophobic, which means they held prejudices towards anything that was made of ectoplasm, but they changed after their son, Danny here, changed their mind after they made their penultimate invention. Don't let their previous papers disprove that Ghosts and Spirits are as sentient and sapient as humans, as most of them were." Phantom explained to the detective.

-

"May I know how you managed to make them change their minds?" Detective Ortez asked Danny.

-

"I found two ghost animals that are now my emotional support animals, though unlicensed. Ghost animals can feel much more emotion than normal animals and know how to help me when I get overwhelmed." Danny explained to Detective Ortez. "It also helps that I am able to interview several human ghosts to get real data about them." He added to help his case and the detective nodded.

-

"Don't forget that your familiars are also a big help for me and my team." Phantom said to his original, before turning back to the detective. "His emotional support animals are ghost octopi, and they can change their form to be as small or as large as they want, which helps both him to stay calm and me to get civilians out of harm's way." He told the detective, who smiled at hearing that.

-

"I'm sure I can help you register them as emotional support animals with my department. It wouldn't be the first time we had to register a kid's pet for having powers and I could pull a few strings to help with that." Detective Ortez told Danny. "It helps that you already have a superhero vouching for them as it will make my work easier. Though the catch would be that they may need to work with me and my team at times, though I can make it, so it is only in Amity Park, which I'm guessing is where you all live." She explains to the group, getting nods from the group.

-

"I don't know how helpful they would be without me or Phantom though. They only listen to Phantom because I tell them to and they have their own set of morals that match his. I don't know if they will work seamlessly with law enforcement." Danny told Detective Ortez.

-

"That's fine. As I said, they would be registered as emotional support animals, so I doubt that there will be much that needs them, especially only in Amity Park. I will try not to call for them at all, so don't worry about that." Detective Ortez said to the raven-haired teenager, who nodded.

-

"Now that Shego and Drakken are in the hands of law enforcement, we should be on our way back to Amity Park." Phantom said to the group, getting nods from the group of heroes.

-

"Let me give you all my contact information so you know who to call when you face superhuman criminals again. And to get those ghost animals registered." Detective Ortez said as she pulled out her paper pad and a pen and wrote down the information four times and handed the pieces of paper out.

-

Phantom nodded and opened a portal for the group of heroes and they all stepped through. Phantom was the last one to go through as he had a question for Detective Ortez. "Do me and my team have to get registered for hero work as well, or are we fine?"

-

"You and your team do need to register, but you don't have to give up your civilian identities. We respect the need to protect the ones you care about." Detective Ortez answered Phantom and he nodded before going through his portal.

In the lab with Jack, Maddie, and Nikolai, a portal opened and two ghosts/spirits wearing government looking suits stepped out onto the lab floor. Jack and Maddie were defensive at first, But after seeing Nikolai not react badly to the intruders, they relaxed slightly.

-

"Who are you and what is your business?" Maddie asked the two Ghosts/Spirits that stood before her.

-

"I am Agent Coulson and this is my partner Agent Robin. We are here to speak to one Danny Phantom about his true halfa status. There has been an overlooked procedure because of how rare true halfas are. These were the coordinates of the portal he gave us for his home address, is our information wrong?" The humanoid bird agent, Agent Coulson, asked the two humans.

-

"Your information is right. We dismantled our portal because we found that it could become unstable at any moment. Will Phantom have to re-register the portal after we rebuild it?" Jack asked the two agents.

-

"Yes, thank you for not allowing an unstable portal to stay active. Ghosts and Spirits don't like that natural portals randomly close on them and are happy to have stable portals such as yours around." Agent Robin, a human ghost, informed the two humans. "Do you know when Danny Phantom will be available to talk to us? We almost caught him when he was registering his backings, but he left right after they were filed." She said to Jack, Maddie, and Nikolai.

-

"Let us call him and he can probably send a clone to talk to you, though if you need to talk to his original, you may have to wait a bit. He still has school for a few minutes." Maddie said to the two agents as she pulled out her phone.

-

"A clone will be fine for now. His original will be needed if he passes what we need him to do." Agent Coulson said to Maddie, who nodded as she connected to Danny's phone.

-

"Hey Danny, there are some agents asking for you to do some procedure that was overlooked because of how rare someone like you is. They said that a clone is fine for the actual procedure, but they said that your original will be needed if you pass the procedure. Oh, you just got home with your friends, but don't you still have school for a few minutes? Oh, you had a mission, that makes sense. Come down to the lab and talk to these agents." Maddie talked to Danny and she hung up and Danny flew down from the ceiling of the lab and stood before the agents.

-

"Hello. I'm Danny Phantom. My mother said that there was a procedure that you needed my original here for it. What is the procedure?" Danny asked and his friends ran into the lab.

-

"The procedure is more akin to a blood test in modern times. It is to help us determine if you are fit to be what we need you to be." Agent Coulson said to the halfa. "There is also a written test that you will need to take, but that is simple." He added at the end of what he said.

-

"What do you need me to be?" Danny asked the agent.

-

"We need you to be the 'Ambassador of the Living' as true Halfas, such as you say you are, are bridges between life and death." Agent Robin informed Danny, who nodded at the information.

-

"Will it be a bad thing if I'm already the Ambassador to Queen Dorathea's domain?" Danny asked the agents, who both shook their heads no.

-

"We already talked to her about your possible Title, which is different from ranks as they grant you more power and some domain in relation to your powers." Agent Coulson said. "Which, from what you put down on your list of powers includes portals, so with the title of 'Ambassador of the Living' you may gain the ability to portal to different human dimensions and through time. But that is speculation, you will have a piece of land that you can have others move to that is different from your realm." He explained as he pulled out a device with a needle on it. "I need your arm." Agent Coulson said and Danny offered his right arm. His skin was pierced and some blood was taken and a light blinked green and Agent Coulson and Robin smiled. "Looks like you are a true Halfa as you said." Agent Coulson said as he retracted the needle and put away the device.

-

Agent Robin pulled out a stack of paper out of a pocket. "Here is the test you need to take."

-

Danny took the paper and read it through before he started writing on it. Danny took the test quickly as it was mostly just word problems and he needed to answer honestly. After a few minutes of Danny writing on the test, he finished it and handed it back to Agent Robin, who pulled out another device that scanned the stack of papers and it blinked green, the same as the other device.

-

"This says that you passed the test and that you qualify for the Title." Agent Robin said to Danny and he smiled brightly. "If this is your original body, we can do the ritual for your Title right here." She said and Dany nodded.

-

"I dispersed my clones before I came down here." Danny told the agents. "Though, before we start, why do you need an Ambassador of the Living anyway? Agent Coulson said that there are other universes, and I only know of this one. How can I properly be a good ambassador for the living if I only come from one universe?" He asked and the agents thought for an answer.

-

"We don't exactly know. We only knew of the missed procedure because an Ancient brought it to our attention." Agent Robin started. "If an Ancient says that you will make a good enough ambassador for the living that they interfere in the business, we are gonna listen." She finished as she raised a hand perpendicular to the floor and a circle captured Danny and writing surrounded both inside and outside of the circle and Agent Coulson started chanting and the writing and the circle started glowing.

-

Danny started to feel a rush of power and knowledge being inserted into his mind and body. Danny was getting more powers, and he knew what they were. His portals were being upgraded as he felt another source of power from outside of the circle and lab and he knew that he could time travel now.

'That must have been the Ancient that brought the procedure to their attention.' Danny thought to himself as the ritual kept going and a summoning circle started appearing in his mind.

The lights from the circle and writing started to dim and the chanting started to slow. Danny felt the rush start to slow down some and knowledge started to become more prominent, like where his new land was and how to cultivate it to make it prosper.

The ritual was finished with a sudden flash and the writing and circle disappeared from the lab floor. Danny then heard some words from the same source that gave his portals the power to time travel.

"Use your powers as they should be used." Danny nodded ever so slightly, and a portal opened and the agents left with no goodbyes or leaving any time for questions.

-

"That was insane." Nikolai broke the silence that Danny didn't notice was there. "I never expected you to get a Title when I started working here. This has been a good business move for me." He said as he sat down on a stool next to him.

-

"Nikolai's right, do you know if you can travel to different dimensions or times now?" Maddie asked.

-

"Yeah. Although, the time travel came from a source outside of the circle. I don't know what it was, but I just accepted it." Danny told his mother before turning to Kim. "I guess I can handle transportation for our time dates now." He told his girlfriend and she laughed.

-

"Show us your Ghost form. Maybe there's a change to it, now that you have the Title?" Ron asked Danny and Danny complied and transformed. "Aw. Nothing changed. I thought something changed because your energy felt different." Ron explained his reasoning.

-

"Well, I did think of my base form when I transformed, I didn't let the new energy come to the forefront of my powers." Danny said to Ron. "Let me try again." Danny said and closed his eyes and relaxed and his body grew and his skin turned stormy gray, his hair moving as if it was flame, a purple cloak covered his normal Phantom clothing a clock pin was keeping the cloak over Danny's shoulders.

-

Kim was in no way hiding her blush. "You're very tall. You should keep the regular look to continue heroing." She said and looked away from Danny. Danny turned back into his normal ghost form and then back to human.

-

"I was thinking that too. I have been recorded in that form, so people will better recognize me in that form." Danny said in response to Kim. Danny was going to say something else, but a portal opened behind him and both agents, Coulson and Robin, stepped out of it.

-

"Sorry for stepping out on you there." Agent Robin apologized to the group. "We just needed to check the automatic paperwork in Danny Phantom's file. There were some oddities in the ritual that we didn't expect." She explained.

-

"Such as you now having three Titles and one being that you are a ward of an Ancient." Agent Coulson interrupted his partner. "That could only happen if an Ancient was involved in the ritual itself. Did you feel another presence during the ritual?" He asked Danny, who nodded.

-

"Yeah, right when I got the knowledge that I can make time portals." Danny informed the agents. "What are my three Titles specifically? I should only have one official Title from what you said." He said and Agent Robin pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to Danny.

Danny Phantom's Titles:

True Halfa: Is applied when Danny Phantom died in the opening of a Stable Artificial Portal.

Ambassador of The Living: Is applied through a ritual. Grants Portal makers the ability to visit the unlimited living dimensions. Allows communication to all living tongues from all planets and dimensions.

Ward of Ancient Clockwork: Is applied through involvement of Clockwork during a Title ritual for granting Danny Phantom Time Portals/Viewing Portals.

"It is abnormal for an Ancient to acquire a ward, especially without being in the room with their ward during the ritual." Agent Robin said to the group as Danny tried to give the paper back, but she refused to accept it.

-

"I'm sure Clockwork will show himself to you when the time is right. He is the Ancient of Time after all." Agent Coulson chuckled at his little joke.

-

"Okay." Danny said to the agents. "Can I ask a question, have there recently been any other Halfa registered with the Archivist from this dimension? I recently met someone who I believe to be a Halfa, and he tried to control a couple of humans to forcibly make ghosts to make himself an army." He explained to the two agents.

-

"There have not been any other Halfa registered in the past 500 years, regardless if they were a True Halfa or not." Agent Robin informed Danny. "Does this have to do with the other Stable Artificial Portal in what would be Wisconsin in this dimension?" She asked the halfa.

-

"Yes. Our scans show that there is an energy both here in Amity Park and in Wisconsin. We think it is the other supposed Halfa's portal. I just fought him not even a minute before we started this meeting." Danny explained to the agents who wrote the information down.

-

"It sounds like this supposed Halfa is experienced, yet he isn't registered as a Halfa." Agent Robin said with a small smile. "We'll investigate this and get back to you. Any more questions?" She asked Danny.

-

"Yes. Are there any informational guides for the Titles I have acquired? I am not as versed in the Infinite Realms as I feel is appropriate and I don't want to make a fool of myself when I try to use any type of authority my Titles grant me, if any." Danny said to the agents, who smiled and Agent Robin pulled out three books that were ectoplasm green and handed them to Danny.

-

"We're glad that you aren't so cocky about your new Titles that you don't see your shortcomings. Those books should have enough information for you; they are also spelled to have a lot more pages than when they look like they have." Agent Coulson said with a smile. "We'll be leaving now. Goodbye." He said and a portal opened and the two agents left again.

-

There was silence in the lab and Danny skimmed the beginnings of the books and Nikolai was the first to come to his senses. "You're the ward of an Ancient?!" He exclaimed with a tinge of fear in his voice.

-

"Apparently. I guess it was Clockwork who brought the Ambassador Title to the Agents' attention." Danny said to the technological ghost, not really showing much emotion in his response. "Do you think I could use the Time and Viewing portals while I'm not in my new form?" He asked the group of humans in the lab. "I know that I can use my powers in my human form, but those are normal ghost powers." Danny said and this got the rest of the humans out of their shock.

-

"Didn't Aranea basically say that Ancients are basically the Gods of Gods?" Ron asked and Danny just started blinking, staring at the wall in front of him before the enormity of what just happened finally hit him.

-

"Holy crap!" Danny exclaimed. "Did I just become a demigod by way of being chosen by Time itself?" He asked the group in the lab.

-

"That's why I'm freaking out. This hardly ever happens." Nikolai told Danny. "You need to take this seriously, or you could anger the Ancient that made you their ward." He said to the half ghost boy.

-

"I guess you can be in charge of supplying transportation for our Time Dates." Kim said in an attempt to lighten the mood, which didn't work. "Maybe you could use the Viewing portal to have a better chance of getting to the moon?" She asked, trying to change the subject, which worked.

-

"I could, couldn't I?" Danny said in a way that was in thought.

-

"Yeah. Why don't you try that out while we wait for Tucker to bring our schoolwork for us?" Kim said, knowing that Danny would calm down with something to do.

-

"Not in the lab. We're working on expanding the lab. We should have it done by Wednesday, then we can start on the portal." Maddie told the children and they headed back upstairs.

-

Danny, Kim, and Ron settled into the living room and Danny summoned the purple cloak, in his human form, to make a viewing portal. I set the 'camera' to show the living room to look at the group there to see if the other side of the viewing portal could be seen. It couldn't and when Danny, Kim, and Ron tried to touch the portal and found that it was solid.

They then tried to check out the supposed other side of the portal but couldn't find any solid part for the portal and assumed that Danny could spy on anywhere. Danny then tried moving the 'camera' to the moon and it immediately changed to see the moon.

Danny made a sphere force field around himself and opened a traveling portal to where he looked at the moon. The portal made a vacuum in the force field and Danny went through it, while leaving the viewing portal for Kim and Ron could watch him.

While Danny was standing on the moon, he looked, or sensed, where his viewing portal was showing and waved to Kim and Ron. Danny then felt his communicator vibrate and Wade showed up on the screen. Wade put words on the screen under his face.

-

Wade: I saw you are on the moon. We'll need to update on what you can do now, because I saw that you suddenly went from your home to the moon.

Danny: Understood. Do you want a moon rock? I'm gonna collect some. Maybe you can make a geology device to check the stone composition of the moon itself.

Wade: I totally want a moon rock! I'll get to work on a device, which will probably be a side project if I'm honest. Scan the rocks first to find out if they are radioactive first though.

Danny: Got it. I didn't even think of that, but it would have less, or no, protection from solar rays than Earth. Hey. Maybe there are some ancient ghosts on the moon. That would be cool.

Wade: That would be cool. Be sure to scan them as well. I know you forgot to scan the Dracula ripoff. Have fun. I'll tell Kim and Ron that you are gonna stay there for a while.

Danny: Thanks Wade. Appreciate it. I am totally gonna explore the moon and I'll record some of it for you. Bye.

-

Danny hung up on Wade and started looking around the moon's desert when he felt an impact not far from him. Danny flew towards the impact and found a small meteoroid laying in a crater. Danny flew down to look at the meteoroid and thought it would be fun to keep as a souvenir. He went to pick it up and noticed that it was still a bit hot, so Danny encased it in a thin layer of ice and steam came off of the football-sized rock.

Danny removed the ice and it didn't feel hot or anything anymore. Danny then scanned the rock, sending a message with it saying it was a meteoroid that I was keeping. Wade replied that it was mostly unknown metals and wasn't radioactive. Danny smiled that it could make good material for a present for Kim if I could find more of these materials.

Danny sent his aura around the area he was in and found that it was far easier to spread it and Danny kept spreading it until he found that it surrounded the moon. He was pleasantly surprised by that, and he sensed some ghost energy on the opposite side of the moon that Danny was on. Danny kept his aura spread and flew towards the ghost energy while invisible to keep away from any rovers that were on the moon.

When Danny reached near where the ghost energy was at, his ghost sense went off, and he crouched close to the ground and slowed until he saw the ghost or spirit that was just sitting there. The entity looked like a fish person with what looked like tribal wear made of nature materials. They had green skin, blue gills, purple leaves around their chest, and blue kelp looking plants around their lower half. The entity didn't seem to notice Danny, and it was a surprise to him when his ghost sense actually told Danny that the entity was indeed a ghost and not a spirit.

'Must be from the boost when I got the Titles.' Danny theorized to himself and went to record the ghost for Wade and tried to scan them. The scan couldn't work until I went closer. Danny then decided to introduce himself to the space ghost.

Danny walked over to the ghost and got their attention. This startled the ghost and they became defensive. Danny held his hands in the air, or lack of it, as a universal show of peace. This calmed the ghost enough to not be as defensive.

Danny tried to speak and found that he could hear himself. "Hello, my name is Phantom, Ambassador of the Living, and denizen of the planet this moon orbits around. Could I know what to call you?" He asked the ghost.

-

"What are you saying? I don't understand you." The fish-like ghost said in a dialect that wasn't Gholric, but Danny could understand it just the same.

-

'Must be the Ambassador Title that allows me to speak all languages of the living, if this is an alien.' Danny thought to himself. Danny closed his eyes and willed his mind and mouth to replicate the language. "I said that my name is Phantom, Ambassador of the Living, and denizen of the planet this moon orbits around. Could I know what to call you?" Danny asked again.

-

"You may call me Tor'Malek. Thank the Glorks that the Ambassador finally showed up. I have been waiting billions of years for an Ambassador to show up. What took you so long?" The fish-like ghost, Tor'Malek, asked Danny.

-

"I don't know about other Ambassadors, but I just started my job as Ambassador. Like not even a half hour has passed yet since I got the job. I haven't even read the book on being an Ambassador yet." Danny told Tor'Malek. "Could you tell me about your situation, so I can make an educated guess on what to do?" Danny asked the prehistoric ghost.

-

"Of course the moment an Ambassador comes to meet me; they don't even know how to do their job." Tor'Malek said in obvious exasperation at the situation. "I manifested here sometime after I died, alongside the rest of my species against a Spirit called Pariah Dark and his legions of the dead. I don't know how much time has passed between the time I died, to when I manifested here. I tried to fly down to the planet multiple times, but I was told that an Ambassador had to come and allow me to go down there. I just don't want to be alone anymore. I don't care if you keep me confined to a small area of the planet, please let me leave this place." Tor'Malek pleaded to Danny.

-

"You're right that I would need to keep you confined to a small area on the planet, but that is only because I don't have a way to keep tabs on you if you explored the whole planet." Danny told Tor'Malek. "If I may ask, why haven't you gone to the Infinite Realms to not be alone?" Danny asked the prehistoric ghost.

-

"I tried. They wouldn't let me enter because the dominant species of the planet has changed and only an Ambassador could let me in. The person who told me that part was different from the usual people that usually tell me to stay on this moon." Tor'Malek said. "They told me that I had to wait for the right Ambassador so everything will be as it should be." They said to Danny.

-

Danny realized that almost sounded like what he had heard at the end of the Title ritual. "Would you be willing to talk to some people about your culture and your people's lifestyle in return to me taking you to my haunt? I know some people would be pleased to learn about other sapient life. You will also need to probably register with the Archivist about immigrating from another eon, even though, from what I'm hearing, you're native to this planet as much as me and my friends." Danny explained to Tor'Malek
