Chapter 66 - Chapter Sixty Seven- Alaric Forced to Choose

‎The chamber did not heal.

‎It held itself together the way a wounded body holds breath — tight, strained, waiting for collapse.

‎The light above no longer judged.

‎It watched.

‎Every symbol across the walls flickered in unstable patterns. Lines overlapped. Laws contradicted themselves. The system was still standing, but its certainty was gone.

‎Authority remained.

‎But belief was breaking.

‎Sebastian stood beside Vivian, one arm steady around her shoulders. She was weak, but her gaze was clear. She was not afraid of the chamber.

‎She was waiting.

‎And above them, in the observation sanctum, Alaric stepped forward.

‎No longer a watcher.

‎No longer a guardian of process.

‎Authority itself.

‎His voice did not rise.

‎It descended.

‎"The trial has failed."

‎The words spread through every layer of the chamber. Not loud. Absolute.

‎A wave of silence followed.

‎The Emergency Council did not object.

‎The elders did not challenge him.

‎Because they had seen it too.
