The great doors of the council chamber opened slowly.
A wave of noise rushed inside.
Voices.
Hundreds of voices.
The council square outside was full.
Citizens had gathered from every street of the capital.
Merchants.
Workers.
Students.
Soldiers.
Old men leaning on staffs.
Young girls standing on stone benches to see better.
Everyone had felt the tremor.
Everyone knew something had happened inside the council chamber.
Now they were waiting.
Lord Cassian stepped out first. Followed by
the elders behind him.
All of them still standing.
A strong line of authority.
Behind them walked Vivian and Sebastian.
Mrs. Ravenscroft gently straightened Vivian's dress.
"You look like someone about to change history."
Vivian smiled nervously.
"I only hope they listento what I have to say"
Mr. Ravenscroft leaned close to Sebastian.
"If they shout too loudly, pretend you cannot hear them she said"
Sebastian almost laughed.
