"Is that why you didn't tell me about her ...because she abandoned and sold you off ?" Mira asked David.
He sighed nodding.
She got in contact with me a year ago. I don't even know how she was able to find me. But I told her I wanted nothing to do with her. She threatened to reach out to you instead.
I was furious , how could she be so shameless after what she did to me...I didn't want you to find out about such a dark past about me so I gave her some money and told her never to contact me again or I would not be polite the next time she appeared in front of me.
Mira sighed.
"I am sorry I shouldn't have done what I did without first checking with you. I guess this was all my fault after all "
"No peach ...it was mine. If I had been honest from the beginning you would have known what to do if she did contact you. I am sorry we had to fight about it for me to finally tell you everything " he apologised.
Mira fell silent getting lost I thought.
"Thinking of Andriana ?" David asked.
She blinked nodding.
"I just realised I have been nothing but a nuisance to everyone. I hurt her feelings too without even knowing what they were both going through. I guess I shouldn't have judged Karlye like that . " she explained.
He hugged her.
" You both have been friends for so long I know she will forgive you "
Mira sighed.
"I know but she has never spoken to me like that ....this was the first time "
"And what does that tell you ?" David asked.
"That he must really treat her well. She looked so hurt by my words ....she loves him " Mira explained.
"Yes he does ..." Mira looked back at David frowning.
"Is something bothering you ?" She asked.
"I almost lost you because I kept lying and I'm happy we cleared it up but what about her .....Karlye doesn't plan on telling her anything about that life " he muttered.
Mira glanced back at him, "It's why I feel angry every time I see him. I know he loves her but I can't help but hate him.....I'm not even sure if I can still call myself her friend. This is going to hurt her if she ever finds out everything ".
David pulled her back to him.
"Let's not think about that ...we will face those demons when the time comes "
Mira sighed hugging him.

Andriana's eyelids fluttered as she woke up.
"You're awake "
Andriana looked back to see her sister sitting beside her.
"Rosie !" she yawned sitting up. They were in the living room.
"You're hungry ?" Rosie pointed at her plate of cake.
Andriana nodded, "When did you get back , is it already this late ?".
Rosie nodded getting up
"I came back two hours ago and you have been asleep for the four ...so it's pretty late already " she said disappearing into the kitchen.
Andriana blinked and gazed back at the window, it was already dark outside.
"Is Karlye back yet ?" she asked.
Rosie returned with her cake, "No....not yet ".
Andriana sat next to her sister and enjoyed her cake.
"What are you going to do during the school break ?" she asked.
"Help at the restaurant. I got so busy with school, it's been a while since I went there " replied Rosie.
"Mmm, that's nice. Then I guess we will be seeing each other every day," she giggled.
"What is that ?" Rosie suddenly asked looking back at the door.
"Huh?" Andriana turned back and listened to what was going on.
Then they heard it, a loud, sharp noise. The sound of bullets outside.
Andriana froze, and Rosie sprang up.
"What is going on ?" She yelled.
The maids came running in and grabbed Andriana and Rosie.
"We have to go " one said to Andriana as she pulled her away.
"What is going on ...that was definitely the sound of bullets I heard" Rosie said.
The head maid led them to Karlye's study, and Andriana noticed the other two maids pulled out guns from under their garments and froze.
Making sure they were inside the room they closed the door and rushed off. The head maid moved to the table and pulled on something triggering something.
She stepped back at the table, shifting, exposing a hidden stairway.
"Follow it and you will meet with the car that will take you to him " she said to Andriana.
"Huh...what do you mean and what the hell is going on?" Andriana grabbed her hand.
She frowned and they all fell silent when the sound of bullets seemed to be closer now.
"I am sorry I can't tell you more than this. All I was told to do was protect you in case such an incident happened. Now please go ....you need to stay safe " she said.
Rosie took her sister's hand, and Andriana could feel it trembling.
"Let's just go sister, if they say it's dangerous then we listen. Those are gun shots outside there " she said.
Andriana followed Rosie down the stairway , she glanced back to see the entrance closing.
"I never knew such a place existed in this house, did you? Rosie let out.
Andriana held her hand tighter.
"Neither did I, I am as surprised as you ".
Quietly they followed the path until they saw the end of it.
Rosie pushed the door open and was surprised they were outside now.
She could see the mansion up on the hill behind them.
"Wow, see how far it is now " She could see dark smoke coming from it.
"What the hell is going on " Andriana muttered gazing back too.
They heard a car approaching.
"Madam and sister-in-law, this way " the two men who stepped out addressed them.
Andriana was hesitant, " How do I know you're not the same persons who attacked us back home ?"
One pulled out his phone and made a call then passed it to her.
"He wants to talk to you " he said to her.
She took the phone answering.
"Hi bunny " he breathed
"Karlye !.....what is going on " she let out.
"I am sorry love, I will explain everything when we meet...for now just follow them. They will keep you safe " he said.
She sighed.
"Okay " she let out.
" I love you " he said.
Andriana breathed , he could hear his shaky voice . She passed the phone back without answering.
She didn't know what she was feeling now. What the hell had Karlye got himself into that they had been attacked by gunmen at their own home?
And the maids weren't even ordinary people but spies he had planted next to her to keep her safe.
She and Rosie quietly followed them into the car and drove away.
