Although Strange was the Sorcerer Supreme, he had never been an obedient student.
Unlike the cautious Ancient One, Strange was exceptionally daring.
He could even be described as reckless beyond measure.
There was practically no spell in this world that he would not dare to use.
Strange had cast many immensely powerful incantations.
He had even struck bargains with every demon god in the Marvel Universe.
There was a reason he had been willing to pay such enormous prices.
Since even Strange did not recognize the demon god with whom Mordo had made his bargain, that entity was most likely not a being of the Multiverse at all.
Karl looked thoughtfully at the countless resentful souls gathered behind Mordo.
"Karl, how should we deal with this?"
"Stop thinking and do something!"
Strange shouted loudly.
Karl remained completely calm, but Strange was beginning to panic.
Faced with those terrifying resentful souls, he barely dared to move.
At his current level, he had no way to withstand such immense power.
Strange was extremely nervous.
Karl, however, merely glanced at him unhurriedly.
"Don't panic."
"This power only looks terrifying."
"Remember this: anything that relies entirely on numbers stands no chance against a truly powerful sorcerer."
After saying that, Karl raised one hand.
The entire sky immediately changed color.
The heavens above them became filled with milky-white light.
A distinct boundary divided the sky.
One side was white.
The other was black.
The frenzied resentment writhed continuously within the darkness, threatening to devour everything around it while exuding a sinister aura.
However, Karl's power did not yield in the slightest.
Immense divine power was brewing within him.
It was the brightest power in the world—the divine power of the Vishanti that Karl had simulated.
This power was particularly effective against resentment and corrupted souls.
It was also infused with Karl's astonishing willpower.
Even against the lingering resentment of tens of millions of people, Karl was not at any disadvantage.
Moreover, compared to the resentment spreading uncontrollably in every direction, Karl's power was far more concentrated.
How could those scattered remnants possibly defeat him?
With a single thought, the milky-white power began crushing the darkness.
"Ahhh!"
"Roar!"
"No! I don't want to die!"
"Die! All of you, die!"
Piercing voices echoed incessantly through the air.
The remnants left behind by the dead released horrifying screams.
The resulting psychic shock surged directly into Karl's mind.
A weaker person would probably have been driven completely insane by such a terrifying assault.
Fortunately, Karl was powerful enough to resist it.
Protected by Karl, Strange was also able to endure the attack.
Every wave of psychic force was intercepted by Karl alone.
His white power continued crushing the terrifying resentment.
High in the sky, the two immense forces intertwined and collided.
Their clash shook the entire atmosphere.
The resulting disturbances were so powerful that violent tremors spread across the entire world.
Even with the extraordinary stability of Earth in the Main Universe, the whole planet was severely affected.
However, the two men at the center of the confrontation knew nothing about the destruction spreading around them.
Mordo's blood-red eyes remained fixed on Karl, as though he would plunge completely into madness at any moment.
Karl showed no fear whatsoever.
He stared directly back at him.
"Mordo, what other methods do you have?"
"These pitiful souls alone can't do anything to me."
Karl spoke calmly.
The golden-white radiance behind him was already overwhelming and even erasing the chaotic dark consciousness within the resentment.
Strange looked at Karl with admiration.
Had Strange been the one facing this attack, there was no possibility that he could have resisted it.
The countless waves of resentment did not merely possess immense offensive power.
They also made it almost impossible for a person to concentrate enough to act.
Under that kind of pressure, Strange would have been unable to focus his mental force.
Karl, however, had single-handedly stopped the entire terrifying attack.
How frightening was that?
Mordo was no less shocked.
Although he had descended into madness and nearly lost all reason, he still retained the most basic ability to understand reality.
Karl had effortlessly stopped the combined resentment of tens of millions of people.
That was simply too terrifying!
The willpower of a single person was comparable to the combined wills of tens of millions.
Karl's mental strength and will were equally horrifying.
Even the gods Mordo had encountered in the past could not compare to him.
"Who the hell are you?!"
"The Sorcerer Supreme shouldn't possess this kind of power!"
"You're not the Sorcerer Supreme!"
Mordo roared.
His voice came out as a wet, guttural rasp, making him sound revolting.
Karl merely frowned.
"Just because you've never seen something before doesn't mean it cannot exist."
"There are plenty of incomprehensible beings in this world."
"As the Sorcerer Supreme, it's perfectly normal for me to be slightly stronger than average."
Karl shrugged as he spoke.
Upon hearing that, Mordo nearly cursed aloud.
Normal?
What part of this was normal?
How could the Sorcerer Supreme possibly be this powerful?
There was no way Mordo would believe him!
"…It doesn't matter anymore. None of it matters."
"I completed everything long ago and exchanged it all for immense power."
"Now is the time for you to witness the result."
"You have no idea what true terror is."
At first, Mordo shouted directly at them.
Eventually, however, he began muttering to himself.
Terrifying dark power radiated from around his body.
It contained an extraordinarily malevolent will.
It was a power that seemed determined to devour and destroy the entire world.
Karl had never encountered anything so sinister before.
"Have you ever seen this?"
"Which demon god possesses power like this?"
"This malevolent will may already belong to an entity on the level of the Five Great Gods."
Karl asked Strange beside him.
The aura emerging from Mordo alone had already reached such a terrifying level.
Karl could hardly imagine how powerful the entity that originally possessed this power might be.
It was entirely possible that it was no weaker than the Five Great Gods!
Strange also frowned deeply.
"I don't know."
"I've never even heard of power like this."
"No god in the Multiverse possesses such a malevolent power."
Karl nodded.
Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that the power itself was not truly evil.
It was an extreme manifestation of individual will.
It sought to devour and destroy everything around it.
From their perspective, such a will naturally appeared evil.
However, the intensity of that will was astonishing.
It was entirely comparable to an entity on the level of the Five Great Gods.
Fortunately, Mordo clearly had not inherited enough of that entity's will.
He could still be dealt with.
Karl quietly watched as Mordo continued changing.
Eventually, Mordo's body underwent an enormous mutation.
He no longer looked human at all.
