Chapter 22 - 22. Heading to S.H.I.E.L.D.

Daisy thought about it. If she contacted Nick Fury, some things would be easier to handle, but she didn't want to owe the bald man a favor. In the end, she decided to figure things out on her own.

She racked her brain and quickly came up with an idea: "How about this, let's advertise to large and medium-sized companies to make our name known."

"We'll produce and distribute some brochures, introducing our philosophy and product applications to various businesses. The content of the brochures isn't actually important; the key is to coat the pages with fluorescent material so that users can see them even at night."

"Imagine, our initial brochures will definitely not be taken seriously. When a high-level executive works overtime or goes home and sees our fluorescent advertisement in the dark, what will he think? Wouldn't he pick it up and take a look? Even if he doesn't need this service, will it deepen his impression? This is our opportunity!" Daisy said confidently.

The others thought about it, and what she said was indeed possible.

"This is a good idea. Did you come up with it? You're very good at understanding human psychology." James Wesley's tone was a little surprised.

Daisy calmly accepted the praise. She certainly wasn't going to say that this was a magazine idea from the July 2011 issue of FHM.

"Analyzing data, building a large data-driven network in the complex modern society, where every person and every event is detailed. We control, analyze, and process everything. This is a brand new field. Gentlemen, our prospects are vast. In the future, we might even be able to manipulate presidential elections!"

The others were noncommittal to these bold words and went their separate ways to prepare.

David continued to optimize the program and streamline the algorithm.

James Wesley was responsible for setting up the company. Many external business operations required his attention, as his image best matched the template of a business elite.

Ms. Matsumoto contacted printing and chemical factories. Promotional materials couldn't be distributed indiscriminately here; a lot of toxic and harmful substance identification was required. Ms. Matsumoto, being familiar with the law, was the perfect person for this task.

At the same time, Daisy personally visited a principal of a church school. After thanking the school for its help over the years, she donated ten thousand dollars as teaching funds. The principal, at her request, used some connections to help expedite the review process for the brochures.

The actions were completely reasonable and legal, simply cutting in line to have their products inspected first.

A week later, the brochures were officially mailed to various companies. Of the fifty thousand dollars Nick Fury generously sponsored, only a little over ten thousand remained.

Three days later, the first consulting task came to them.

A medium-sized chain fast-food restaurant, which had recently launched a series of new meal sets, approached several consulting agencies to survey customer satisfaction with the new sets.

Traditional methods require a lot of manpower and resources, such as random surveys, filling out questionnaires, and compiling and analyzing data.

Skye Data Analytics Co., Ltd. did not have these costs. By collecting and processing information from various social forums and Twitter, they quickly calculated a relatively accurate number. Then, the algorithm categorized and organized user dissatisfaction, filtering out the most frequent complaints and listing them one by one.

Daisy and her team were only responsible for data collection; how to improve was the operators' business.

When the impeccably dressed James Wesley submitted the report to the client, they were astonished; the speed was incredibly fast.

Another company that had also accepted the survey task had just begun comparing user data, while Skye Data had already completed the commission.

He was a little incredulous, but Skye Data Analytics Co., Ltd.'s analysis report subtly aligned with their own business reports.

After adjusting the meal sets according to the survey results that day, sales increased by three percentage points year-on-year. This delighted the person in charge, who immediately called to terminate the other company's commission and paid Skye Data the full seventy-five thousand dollar commission.

This money was earned very easily, with the only cost being a bit of electricity.

Skye Data then took on two more small orders in the following week, earning fifty thousand and sixty-five thousand dollars respectively.

Everything was on track, and a good reputation was spreading within a small circle.

Several other companies with consulting businesses had already noticed them. Although they wouldn't hire commercial spies for a few tens of thousands of dollars, they couldn't be unprepared. Daisy finally decided to go to S.H.I.E.L.D. to learn. Regardless of the future, she felt she should master this knowledge.

After further subdividing the team's tasks, Daisy began preparing to go to S.H.I.E.L.D. Fury didn't tell her the exact location, but rather told her to find it herself. To be honest, this test wasn't really difficult.

The Triskelion headquarters is located on a small island in the center of the Potomac River in Washington D.C., officially named Theodore Roosevelt Island. The island is a little over one square kilometer, densely covered with jungle, with winding walking paths. Amidst the trees, several tall buildings can be seen; that is the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, which is currently still publicly known by its long and cumbersome name, the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division.

Fury had hinted at the name S.H.I.E.L.D. A normal person could deduce the result from the acronym of "Logistics Division," but Daisy already knew the answer without needing to analyze it.

On the weekend, she changed into a plaid shirt, jeans, and sneakers, put on sunglasses, carried a backpack, and drove to Washington.

She glanced at the Washington Monument, the Capitol, and the White House but paid them no further attention. These landmarks had been blown up hundreds of times in various films and TV shows, so there wasn't much novelty.

However, the environment here was pleasant, with lush trees and fresh air. Tourists and citizens, in twos and threes, were either reading or chatting, creating a leisurely atmosphere.

Driving northeast along the Lincoln Memorial, Daisy was soon stopped by a checkpoint by the riverbank.

After she showed the magnetic card Fury had given her, the guard verified her identity and let her pass directly.

People could enter, but this car, which was God knows how many hands old, could not.

Daisy didn't waste words. She parked the car in a parking lot on the other side, where good cars were everywhere. Her old Ford looked like an antique in comparison. She called her maid to come and sell the car when she had time, as Fury had said he would provide her with a new one.

Carrying her backpack, after registering again, she walked across the bridge.

Scanners, electronic eyes, radar, and other equipment swept past her. When they detected her identity magnetic card, they all stopped scanning.

She was the only one on the bridge. There were no pretty senior sisters to welcome her, nor senior brothers to help carry her bag. She walked alone into this quiet and serene island.

Following the winding path, turning left and right, she walked for an hour, and then her vision suddenly opened up.

The massive Triskelion building occupied more than half of the island. The building appeared to be three hundred meters tall. Thinking back to Captain America jumping from the middle of the building, Daisy couldn't help but sigh. Using her vibration ability to counteract gravity and land slowly was something she could barely do, but jumping hard? She didn't possess that physical attribute
