Chapter 6 - Part6:IF Route Unlocked: Occupy The Chasm

The Winds of Liyue: The Conquest of the Chasm

On a continent of constant upheaval, Lü Bu—the world-famous God of War—heard tales of the mystery and wealth hidden within Liyue's Chasm. More than just a source of boundless mineral resources, the Chasm held unique geographical and strategic importance. It shone like a brilliant pearl, coveted by countless factions. Gazing into the distance, his eyes blazing with fierce resolve, Lü Bu made his decision: he would lead his army to conquer this land and bring the Chasm under his domain.

Lü Bu's army was a formidable force composed of elite cavalry and heavy infantry. His riders mounted sturdy warhorses, wielded long spears, and wore light yet resilient armor; swift as the wind, they were unstoppable in any charge. His infantry, equipped with heavy shields and sharpened long blades, marched in perfect formation with unyielding discipline, forming the army's unshakable bulwark. As for Lü Bu himself, his martial prowess was unmatched. Mounted on Red Hare, his legendary steed, and wielding the Sky-Scorching Halberd, he cut an awe-inspiring figure—wherever he went, enemies trembled in fear.

When Lü Bu's host drew near Liyue's borders, the Seven Stars of Liyue had long received word and hastily gathered to decide their response. Liyue's forces drew their strength primarily from Geo energy; they excelled at using terrain to their advantage and constructing formidable defenses. Liyue also hosted numerous powerful adepti and guardians, wielding mysterious and overwhelming power.

At the entrance to the Chasm, Liyue's army set up a stout defensive line, using the terrain to their fullest. They raised towering walls from massive boulders, lining the ramparts with archers and Geo mages. Before the line, they laid a deadly array of traps—spiked pits, ground stakes, and more—all meant to halt Lü Bu's advance.

Upon arrival, Lü Bu did not order an immediate attack. He knew all too well the strength of Liyue's defenses; a reckless assault would only lead to heavy casualties. Instead, he sent scout cavalry to thoroughly reconnoiter the lines, mapping out enemy positions and uncovering weaknesses in their fortifications.

After careful deliberation, Lü Bu devised his plan of attack. He first sent a small contingent of cavalry to feign an assault, drawing the attention of Liyue's forces. As archers and mages unleashed their volleys and elemental attacks on the decoy riders, Lü Bu's main infantry advanced rapidly, locking shields into a tight formation to withstand the barrage. At the same time, Lü Bu personally led his elite cavalry in a flanking maneuver around Liyue's defenses.

On the unprotected flank, Lü Bu's cavalry struck like a sharp blade, tearing through Liyue's lines. The riders swung their spears, charging deep into the enemy ranks and throwing them into chaos. With the flanks broken, the frontline infantry launched their all-out assault, breaking through Liyue's main defenses and trapping the defenders in a pincer attack.

Though Liyue's soldiers fought valiantly, they gradually found themselves overwhelmed by the ferocity of Lü Bu's offensive. Just then, however, Liyue's adepti and guardians intervened. Unleashing powerful immortal arts and elemental energy, they sought to turn the tide of battle. Some adepti summoned colossal boulders to crash down upon the invading army; other guardians unleashed raging elemental storms to block their path.

Lü Bu did not flinch. Wielding his Sky-Scorching Halberd, he charged directly at the adepti and guardians. His skill was peerless, his strength terrifying—he engaged them in a breathtaking clash. Time and again, he broke through their defenses, his raw courage leaving even the immortals and guardians in awe.

As the battle wore on, Lü Bu's forces gradually gained the upper hand. They breached Liyue's layered defenses and finally reached the heart of the Chasm. There, Lü Bu discovered a vast treasure vault, overflowing with precious ores and relics.

But just as he prepared to claim the vault, Liyue's last guardian emerged: a mighty envoy of the Geo Archon, wielding the mysterious power to command stone and rock. The envoy wove his magic, shaping nearby stone into towering stone golems that marched to attack Lü Bu's army.

Lü Bu and the Geo Archon's envoy clashed in a decisive duel. Their battle was savage and earth-shaking; the ground trembled, and boulders shattered all around them. In the end, Lü Bu's unmatched bravery and cunning secured him victory over the envoy.

With the guardian's fall, Lü Bu successfully conquered the Chasm. Standing atop the great abyss, he looked out over the land he had subdued, his heart swelling with pride. From that day onward, the Chasm became a vital stronghold of Lü Bu's domain, and his legend resounded even louder across the continent.

Though Liyue had suffered defeat, they did not surrender. In the shadows, they gathered their strength, biding their time for the day they would strike back.
