Seeing Julian D'Aurelius arrive, Amara Ravenswood cheerfully waved her hand and ran over, immediately linking her arm with his as she asked.
"Why do you need so many strange herbs this time? Even my family's stockpile isn't enough for you."
A warm afternoon breeze drifted through the entrance of the Whitmore Family estate. The leaves of the ancient trees rustled softly overhead, casting shifting shadows across the stone pathway.
Julian glanced at the petite beauty beside him and smiled.
"For alchemy, of course."
He didn't hide anything from Amara. Reaching out, he lightly patted her head.
The sudden gesture made her blink.
Then her cheeks puffed slightly.
"Don't treat me like a child."
"Really? Then why do you still look like one?"
Julian teased.
Amara immediately glared at him.
"I'll have you know I'm a famous miracle doctor."
"A famous miracle doctor who runs to the gate personally just to wait for me?"
