"What happened to your eyes?" Asael was the one to ask.
Ruoxi wrenched his gaze away from Dulce's face; for a moment, he had caught a flash of the rapturous expression on his face. "What?" He asked coldly.
Asael's question caught the attention of the entire table. Dulce had gotten too accustomed to them and forgot to point out the changes, while the others were just noticing for the first time, both having their attention on Dulce the entire time.
"They're back to normal," Asael said flatly; if Ruoxi didn't even know of it, then he wouldn't be getting an explanation.
Ruoxi silently placed a hand on his face, long fingers splayed over a dark pink eye, saying nothing.
He paid no attention to the meal on the table, craving something else entirely. After enduring a while of fiddling with his silverware, he rose to his feet.
Dulce looked up when he did, the quiet question in his eyes getting answered when Ruoxi picked him up from his chair.
