Chapter 1 - Light After Struggle

Rahul was born into a family where even dreaming felt like a luxury. His house was small and made of tin; during the rainy season, water leaked through the roof. His father worked as a daily laborer, breaking stones all day, yet loans were unavoidable at the end of every month. His mother worked as a housemaid to support the family.

As a child, Rahul often went to school on an empty stomach. While his classmates opened their lunch boxes, he only watched silently. That was the day he promised himself:

"One day, I will become someone who never has to beg again."

After finishing school, Rahul moved to the city. He had only a few coins in his pocket but countless dreams in his heart. First, he washed dishes in a hotel. Later, he got a job at a clothing shop. He worked 12–14 hours a day, yet his salary was barely enough to survive.

Still, Rahul never gave up.

At the shop, he met Suman. Suman was a sweet talker, someone who could paint big dreams with words. Rahul trusted him like a brother. Slowly, he shared his pain, his struggles, and his future plans with him.

One day, Suman said,

"If we keep doing jobs all our lives, we'll never become anything. Let's start something of our own."

Rahul handed over all his savings to Suman—money he had saved by skipping meals and working day and night.

👉 That money carried the weight of Rahul's sweat and dreams.

But fate was cruel.

One morning, Rahul woke up to find Suman's phone switched off. The shop was empty. Suman had disappeared.

Rahul felt the ground slip beneath his feet. His heart felt hollow. Sitting on the roadside, he cried and blamed himself:

"Why was I so foolish?"

That day, Rahul learned a painful truth:

Not every smile belongs to a well-wisher.

Yet, that betrayal did not break him—it shaped him.

From the very next day, Rahul became stronger. He worked during the day and delivered parcels at night. His body was exhausted, but one thought kept him going:

"Struggle today, success tomorrow."

There were nights when he survived on a single piece of bread, sitting on the footpath. People insulted him, looked down on him, but Rahul endured everything in silence.

Years passed like this.

One day, Rahul opened a small shop of his own. At first, no customers came. People mocked him and said,

"With so many shops around, who will come to yours?"

Rahul smiled and opened the shop again the next day.

Slowly, people noticed his honesty, hard work, and behavior. The shop started running well. The small shop became big. Today, Rahul is not only successful—he has created jobs for others too.

One day, Suman stood at the door of Rahul's shop. His face was broken, his eyes filled with shame. He came to apologize.

Rahul calmly said,

"You betrayed me once, but you could never defeat my hard work. My struggle made me who I am today."

Moral of the Story:

👉 Hard work is never wasted

👉 Betrayal teaches lessons, struggle brings success

👉 If not today, then tomorrow—the result will come
