A-Train's speed was extremely fast.
In his field of vision, the world turned into streaks of retreating afterimages.
While Alex was still speaking, he had already run across several streets.
Along the way, vehicles and pedestrians were knocked over, smashed, and killed by him.
So when Alex looked down from the sky, street after street had descended into total chaos.
Cars were warped, overturned, or crashed straight into nearby shops.
Pedestrians fared even worse. Anyone hit by A-Train was turned straight into minced meat, leaving pools of blood all over the road.
That morning, Alex had publicly declared in front of the media that he would straighten out The Seven.
Naturally, he couldn't allow A-Train to run wild now.
In midair, Alex locked onto that rapidly moving figure, smiled faintly, and flew over.
At this moment, A-Train was charging toward an intersection.
Suddenly, two deep red beams shot down from the sky, slicing across the road ahead of him and cutting open the pavement, blocking his path.
He had no choice but to stop. Reflected in his goggles was a blond white man in a sky-blue combat suit, a Stars and Stripes cape billowing behind him as he slowly descended.
"Look at what you've done."
"You've turned yourself into a super-criminal."
"You've become exactly the kind of person we've always been fighting."
Alex said with a look of sorrow.
A-Train shouted, "Please, Homelander!"
"Don't send me to prison!"
Alex didn't even think about it and firmly shook his head, "That won't do."
A-Train cursed and turned to run.
Suddenly, Homelander's voice came from beside his ear, "Is this your fastest speed?"
The next second a fist rapidly expanded in his goggles.
BANG!
Air pressure surged. A-Train was blasted away by a single punch.
His goggles shattered. His nose broke. Blood flowed out.
BANG!
He slammed into a car parked by the roadside, his whole body embedded into it.
But the very next second, he burst out of the car, dragging a blurred afterimage behind him as he charged straight at Alex.
Alex stood unmoving.
BOOM!
The two collided. The nearby street shook, windows shattered, seven or eight cars bounced into the air, and pedestrians were knocked flat to the ground.
A-Train was flung away and smashed onto the ground, but after rolling once, he got back up.
Unwilling to give up, he changed direction and sprinted at full power.
Alex leaned forward slightly and instantly shot out like a rocket, slamming into A-Train and crashing him into a shop.
The shop's display windows shattered. Customers inside screamed and scattered as they ran out.
Alex floated into the shop, looking down at A-Train on the ground, gasping as he struggled to get up.
Compared to the A-Train in the TV show, this one clearly had far better physical conditioning.
After all the repeated collisions just now, his body still hadn't fallen apart.
If this were the TV version, he'd probably have smashed himself to pieces the very first time he crashed into something.
A-Train raised his hand in a stopping gesture and said, "Listen, I know a secret about Vought."
"If you let me go, I'll tell you that secret."
Alex smiled and said, "I'm not interested."
A-Train's face instantly filled with shock.
On the street, people hid behind various forms of cover, cautiously watching the clothing store across the way.
Suddenly, a scream rang out from inside the shop, and a figure was flung out.
Before he even hit the ground, Alex had already caught up to him.
With a faint smile, Alex grabbed A-Train by the chest and delivered an uppercut, blasting A-Train up into the air.
He flew up after him, grabbed hold of A-Train, and then his eyes rapidly lit up with red light.
A-Train's goggles had long since shattered.
At this moment, his eyes were full of panic as he frantically waved his hands, "Wait! WAI—"
Before he could finish speaking.
Two deep red beams drilled straight into his eyes, bursting out the back of his head and striking the ground below, leaving two bottomless holes in the road.
———
Hughie sat on a bench beside his front lawn.
His father handed him a glass of lemonade.
"Thanks."
Hughie, who had just thrown up again not long ago, took the glass and drank a sip.
Then said, "Do you think Homelander will punish A-Train?"
The middle-aged man, already past fifty, fell silent for a moment. Then he could only give a bitter smile, "I don't know, kid."
Just then, a Stars and Stripes cape fluttered at the edge of their vision.
Hughie stood up. He saw Homelander carrying A-Train under his arm, smiling as he looked at them.
Then he threw A-Train onto the lawn.
A-Train rolled over and lay spread-eagle on the grass.
Both of his eye sockets had been burned into charcoal. Looking through them, you could see the green lawn beneath.
Nearby media and reporters immediately swarmed over, staring in disbelief at the corpse on the ground.
Alex pointed at a TV station's camera, "Are we live?"
A reporter quickly nodded, "Yes, sir."
Alex nodded lightly, revealed his signature smile, and looked into the camera, "A-Train has been executed by me."
"Through this incident, I want to sound a warning to other superhumans."
"Even if you possess extraordinary abilities, remember, do not break the law."
"If you break the law, then you must accept the punishment of the law."
"And I am the guarantee of all this."
After speaking, Alex flew up into the sky, then streaked off toward Seven Tower.
———
In a deserted courtyard in the central region, a beautiful girl with blonde hair and well-defined features was lifting a car overhead.
From her earphones came Homelander's voice.
["If you break the law, then you must accept the punishment of the law."]
["And I am the guarantee of all this!"]
BANG! BANG!
The girl dropped the car, wiped the sweat from her face, and said, "Homelander is so cool. No wonder he's my idol!"
At this moment, a middle-aged woman came out of the house, "Annie, it's time for us to go."
The girl named Annie replied cheerfully, "Okay, Mom."
The middle-aged woman took out a suit of combat armor, "Put this on. You'll be the best."
Annie took the outfit and said, "Mom, do you think I can get into The Seven?"
"Of course you can!"
———
Inside a certain bar, the lighting was dim, and the air was filled with all kinds of smells.
Behind the bar, on the TV hanging overhead, Homelander was speaking to the camera.
["Through this incident, I want to sound a warning to other superhumans."]
["Even if you possess extraordinary abilities, remember, do not break the—Zzz! Zzz!"]
Suddenly, a glass flew over and smashed into the TV.
The bartender jumped in shock, then spread his hands toward a scruffy man at the bar, "Hey, man! What are you doing?"
The man had thick, fierce eyebrows, a full beard, and reeked of alcohol.
He raised his hand, pointed at the TV, "This is bollocks! He's full of bullshit!"
"Homelander himself is a lawbreaker. What can he guarantee?"
The bartender's expression turned hostile,
"Get out! We're not doing business with you!"
The bearded man snorted and staggered out.
Before leaving, he looked at the TV, glared fiercely at Homelander, then pushed the door open and left.
