Chapter 15 – The Frost and the Flame, The Forge of the Blue Devil Birds

Gorgos, the Evil Soul Master, wasn't alone in his "drilling" operation. As Lakan and Ling Yue approached the mountain crevice, they saw a group of hooded figures. But standing apart from them, chained to a jagged rock, was a girl who looked no older than seven.

She had long, icy-blue hair and eyes that looked like frozen sapphires. Despite her age and the chains, she didn't look broken—she looked furious. This is Shui Bing'er.

"The girl's blood," Ling Yue whispered, her eyes sharp. "Lakan, look at her resonance. She has a high-purity Ice Phoenix soul. They aren't just drilling; they're using her as a 'key' to bypass the mountain's frost-seal."

Gorgos laughed, holding a ritual dagger. "Finally! With the blood of this Ice Phoenix brat and the 'Well of Silence' behind this wall, my Dark Phoenix soul will finally evolve into a True Sovereign!"

Lakan's eyes flashed with a cold, protective light. "Sister Ling Yue, handle the hooded lackeys. The 'Dark Phoenix' is mine."

Lakan didn't just walk; he used Diamond Glide (Hakbang Alahas) to close the distance in a heartbeat.

Gorgos snarled, his Dark Phoenix martial soul erupting in a cloud of black, oily flames. "Stay back, brat! Fourth Soul Skill: Obsidian Pyre!"

Lakan entered Center-Point Stillness. He didn't avoid the black fire; he used the Iridescent Bone Forging to vibrate his palm, creating a high-frequency "wind-shield" around his arm.

"Agaw (The Takeover)."

As the obsidian flames reached him, Lakan reached into the fire. He didn't resist the force; he "caught" the heat's momentum and redirected it back at Gorgos using a sharp Triangular Pivot.

BOOM.

Gorgos was blasted back by his own attack. Lakan didn't stop. He pivoted again, his silhouette blurring as he reached Shui Bing'er. With a swift Panununtukan (Vibrational Pulse), he shattered her chains without touching her skin.

"Who are you?" Shui Bing'er gasped, her voice shivering like glass.

"A fellow bird of a feather," Lakan chirped, giving her a quick, confident wink. "Stay behind me, Snowflake. I'll finish this, and then we can talk about how you ended up in this dump."

Lakan turned back to Gorgos. "You wanted the 'Well of Silence'? Let me show you what a real Phoenix sounds like."

He pulsed his Seven-Tone Chaos energy into his Adarna tattoos. A shockwave of pure, prismatic light erupted, completely washing away the Dark Phoenix's oily miasma. Gorgos collapsed, his dark soul power recoiling and shattering his own meridians.

With the Evil Soul Master neutralized, the mountain wall began to groan. The seal wasn't fully open yet. It required a "Dual Resonance."

"It needs the balance," Lakan analyzed, looking at the stone gate. "The Prismatic Heat and the Absolute Cold. Bing'er, right? I need you to place your hand on that blue crystal. I'll take the red one. We need to synchronize our heartbeats."

Shui Bing'er looked at him, hesitant but sensing the "Nobility" in his aura. She stepped forward and placed her hand on the ice. Lakan placed his on the stone.

The gate didn't just open; it dissolved into a shimmering portal of Cyan and Silver. The "Phoenix Valley" revealed itself—a vast, hidden dimension filled with the skeletons of titans.

Sacred Graveyard

Ling Yue, Lakan, and a wary Shui Bing'er stepped into the valley. The air here was heavy with the "Divine Weight" of fallen gods.

"This place..." Shui Bing'er whispered, her Ice Phoenix martial soul manifesting instinctively, its wings sparkling with frost. "It feels like... home. But a home that's been mourning for millions of years."

"It is," Lakan said, his gaze fixed on the center of the valley where the Golden Blue Devil Bird and Silver Blue Devil Bird lay. "And we're here to give them a new life."

Lakan walked toward the massive, fossilized remains of the Blue Devil Birds. He pulled out the materials he had prepared: Spirit-Ironwood, Almáciga resin, and the Baybayin scrolls.

"Ling Yue, I'm not just taking their rings," Lakan said, his voice solemn. "I'm going to invite them to become my Anito. I will forge two Kampilans—the Araw (Sun) and the Buan (Moon)."

"You're going to forge weapons here?" Ling Yue asked, stunned.

"The resonance is perfect," Lakan replied. He looked at Shui Bing'er. "I'll need your Ice Phoenix fire to cool the metal while I use my Solar Pulse to heat it. If we do this right, we'll create the first Soul Spirit Tools the world has seen in an eon."

Lakan began the ritual of Spirit Feeding. He poured a vial of high-quality "Atang" (ritual wine and crushed herbs) onto the fossilized bones. He began to chant in the ancient rhythm, his hands moving in the air to draw the Baybayin symbols for "Life" and "Loyalty."

"Gising (Awaken)," Lakan commanded.

The valley began to shake. The spirits of the Blue Devil Birds—massive, translucent ghosts of cyan and silver—rose from the bones. They didn't attack; they looked at Lakan's Adarna and Shui Bing'er's Ice Phoenix with ancient curiosity.

"They accept us," Lakan whispered.
